We are proudly a true VRBO'er, the most important part being By Owner. We offer the attention to detail, cleanliness, and amenities that you would expect from owners who are intimately and directly involved with the care and management of their cabin. We are giving you our best, and we expect your best in return.

Hills 'n Holler is our second vacation rental. HnH is located behind our first, rental called Wagon Wheel Ridge, which you can find here on VRBO at listing #161442. We invite you read our reviews at WWR to get an idea of the kind of experience we seek to give you.

We are true VRBO'ers, and provide the personal touches and attention to detail you would expect. You cannot say that for a lot of other cabin rentals. We hope you can tell the difference and treat us accordingly. We do not care to be treated like the Economy Inn, and we are not your best option for bargain hunters. We proudly provide one of the best values available for quality of your mountain vacation experience.

The most consistent reaction we have from guests, family and friends is that Hills 'n Holler is equal to Wagon Wheel Ridge, and some prefer HnH because it is more spacious. They definitely have two different 'characters.' Both are always far more beautiful than expected to first-time visitors. Pictures don’t do them justice. Beautiful, private setting. Fully landscaped and decorated.

There is something for both him and her. She will appreciate the tasteful and well-appointed rooms. He will appreciate the Large screen TV and home theatre systems for watching the game. Both will appreciate the private, cozy, quiet, natural setting. You will simply enjoy! HnH is fun, relaxing, beautiful, serene, exciting, peaceful, private. It is close to nature, quaint, cozy, comforting. There is a warmth that is hard to put into words, that you cant see in pictures.

Hills 'n Holler is a little bit rustic, a little bit modern casual elegance. It is the darn near perfect cozy cabin tucked away in the hills. If you are looking for an extraordinary, peaceful, private and relaxing getaway, We'd love to have ya' drop by!

On vacation in the mountains…Its All About The HOT TUB and The View…The tub itself is a 6 seat Gulf Coast Spa LX5000 with lights, waterfall, and aromatherapy. And...drum roll please...we positioned the hot tub so you can enjoy the mountain view from the can truly soak it all in.

Do you want a getaway that sticks with you for weeks. A vacation experience you cant help but tell your family and friends about? This is the place. Right here. Enjoy a week or a weekend - grillin', chillin', hiking, biking, kayaking. Or just snuggle in watching your favorites - sports, movies, classic TV - or maybe some quiet time, catching up on some reading.

Upstairs we have a comfy-cozy Living Room, Master Bedroom and Dining Room all open to each other, with a tall vaulted ceiling. The overall effect is cozy spaciousness. The windows are trimmed in tree bark. We gave the vaulted wooden ceiling a soft buffed effect, and almost all of the furniture has been custom made for us. We have a see-thru wood-burning fireplace that opens to the living room and the kitchen

The Living Room has a wall full of large windows to give you a full time view. You can enjoy the game in sheer audio and visual pleasure on the Sony 46' HD LCD TV and 5.1 Sony Home Theatre System with in ceiling and in-wall Yamaha speakers & subwoofer.

We provide Dish Network Satellite TV reception, a DVD player upstairs, and a Sony PS3 downstairs.

The kitchen has a dual composite sink, antiqued and distressed cabinets and granite countertop. Whirlpool electric range and ceramic stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and French door bottom freezer refrigerator, and various small appliances for your convenience.

We have a beautifully decorated king Master Bedroom and Bathroom with whirlpool tub and two sinks upstairs. Then we have a cozy and cute queen Bedroom downstairs with an equally cute full (shower-only) bathroom.

We have a doubledecker deck. Right outside the kitchen on the upper deck we have a stainless steel propane gas grill for quick and easy grillin'. Walk around the corner and you are outside the upstairs living room overlooking our holler. There are with plenty of tables & chairs to spread out, and two comfortable rocking chairs for relaxing with someone special. The Hot Tub is on the lower deck, along with more tables & chairs, and being lower, a closer view of the Holler!.

Outside, we have beautiful natural landscaping.. We also have an outdoor fire-pit. We supply the wood - you supply the common sense and don't set the woods on fire.

Details matter, and we have put extra attention in appointments and furnishings, from the linens to the wall decor. For all beds we use premium quality mattresses and high thread count sheets.

Hills 'n Holler is only about 12 miles from Ellijay in Gilmer County, Georgia, the Apple Capital of Georgia. Ellijay is home to the Apple Festival held two weekends in October. There are Apple Houses along the highways with fresh and canned produce, gifts, baked goods, and other treats. Ellijay has numerous antique shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Hills 'n Holler is also convenient to Amicalola Falls, Dawsonville, Dahlonega, and Blue Ridge, each with their own attractions. Go antiquing to your heart's content or ride the scenic railway in Blue Ridge. Visit the North Georgia Premium Outlet stores & the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville. Pan for gold & shop antiques in Dahlonega. Yee Haw!

Guestbook comments from the owner

One of best Christmases we have ever spent together, with much thanks and credit given to you! With my father coming home from Afghanistan, this was the perfect getaway. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Relaxing Game Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Hurricane Nate visited us on this weekend. The double decks proved a good place to sit outside at times. Spent many hours playing 500 rummy and other games. The cabin was very nice and clean. We had no trouble getting up the hill. We would recommend this property to friends.

Very Nice

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very nice and clean. We had no trouble getting up the hill. The parking was great for unloading the cars. The amenities were many. There were plenty of instructions for the hot tub, TV and internet. We were there to connect with family so we did not really spend a lot of time away from the cabin. The view would be even better in the fall. We would recommend the property.

Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

We spent our 30th anniversary at Hills 'n Holler and left planning to come back. The home is indeed elegant and very well managed. Well stocked, comfortable, and somewhat private. Cell service was so-so and Wi-Fi was a bit flakey, but that didn't take away from the experience. There were wildfires in the area at the time of our visit and it limited the places we planned to hike to, but the immediate area around the cabin was worth exploring and just stunning with fall colors. For our anniversary it was perfect.

I rate this home 5 stars. My husband says nothing is ever perfect but I can't imagine what could make Hills n Holler any better. The view is fabulous! It is one of the quietest places we've found and we look for the mountain retreats. As Seniors, we appreciate the ease in unloading on the same level as the parking. If you stay on the upper floor, you don't even need to use stairs. This is our second stay at Hills n Holler and won't be our last. Great place to see the fall colors. The town of Blueridge and Dahlonega are less than an hour and Amaicalola Falls State Park (one of our favorites for fall colors, waterfalls and hiking) is about 20 minutes away. There are great wineries nearby. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked with an array of spices and all the cooking utensils you need. You might want to bring a crockpot for you day outings. The fire pit is a great nighttime window. Walking/hiking right from the house is good, too. We stayed here 4 years ago about the same last week of October when the house was new. Honestly, we could tell little difference in the condition after four years. Steve does a magnificent job of keeping the house up. Bedding and towels are good quality. We have just used the upstairs for two of us, but would be great for additional people as the downstairs gives you privacy. The decking--upstairs and down is fabulous. I do my yoga downstairs as it feels more in the forest. Upstairs is best foliage view. Love to eat on the deck. Grateful Floridians that hear the mountains calling, want to see the fall colors and are amazed at the quiet. You can hear the leaves fall.

Additional information about rental rates

Refundable damage deposit $250
Cleaning $100 + Tax
Tax Rate 12.0%

We are a TRUE Vacation Rental By Owner. We do this at our leisure and pleasure, we like making folks happy and we like to stay happy ourselves. We do not like to be treated like the Holiday Hotel. Dont let V.R.B.O's new online quoting and online booking give you the wrong impression.

We usually discount a bit from the online quote system here, based on length of stay. In a couple of situations, the online quote is too low. Owners have been forced by Big Brother V.R.B.O. to do online quoting and act like Hotel 6 instead of a true Vacation Rental By Owner.

Special rates/minimums apply for Holidays. Pet deposit - $100 per dog, 2 dogs maximum, no other pets allowed.

We love-love-love dogs, and many have stayed with us. But what is appropriate in a vacation rental is not the same as for your own home. You do get this, right?

Folks love our cabin because we keep it in like-new condition. We welcome only house-broken, well behaved, recently groomed, clipped & flea-treated, non-aggressive dogs in good health with no chewing, scratching, odor, digging, or potty issues, etc. Puppies, and older or infirm dogs that cannot control their bodily functions are not welcome.

We do NOT allow pets on the beds or furniture. Cleaning dog hair, etc off our many cushions, throws, and comforters is a nightmare! Its best to bring their own bed, and its wonderful if they are crate-trained.

We do NOT believe the occasional potty "accident" is acceptable at all. Dogs should be perfectly house-broken, otherwise they are not welcome.

We love dogs enough that we dont charge a pet fee, pet-cleaning fee...EXCEPT if necessary. Soooo...if we do have to make an extra effort you will be charged accordingly.

100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
