We love the cottage, Linda was nice and pleasant to us when we were arriving. We had a great time at the cottage. I especially enjoyed the sunset most day we stayed at the cottage. Overall everything was great.

Lovely Cottage On Beautiful Lake Champlain

  • 5 of 5

From the minute we arrived at the cottage, with it's incredible views of the lake, we felt like we were in heaven. Linda and her husband were there when we arrived to greet us and show us around. The cottage looks exactly as it does in the pictures. It is very clean and open with high ceilings and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We were here the last week of June and the temps were cool at night and in the 70's during the day with variances from windy to just slightly breezy. Lots of windows, too. We preferred to sit out on the lawn closer to the water as opposed to the deck and nice lounge chairs are provided. The water is cold, but that didn't stop me from taking out my floaty lounger on it. So relaxing! The owner also provides a row boat (and life jackets), which we did not use, but would be great if you fish. Everything in the cottage worked perfectly- the appliances, the TV. Plenty of water pressure and hot water. We didn't need to use the air conditioner. The WIFI was adequate for our needs, though we did lose the server a lot, but were quickly able to reconnect. Furniture was comfortable for the most part. Very quiet area as well. Most days, we did some day trips. Alburgh Dunes State Park; South and North Hero Islands. Even went further south to Colchester. Also to Isle La Motte to St. Anne's Shrine and the Chazy Reef/Fisk Quarry. If you like biking, it is very popular here and the roads are nice and flat for the most part. We food shopped in Champlain on the way over from NY. But there are convenience stores and smaller markets about, plus another supermarket in nearby Swanton. There are also some good restaurants nearby and Linda provides all kinds of information to help you find things in the area. The cottage is well organized with her helpful notes placed strategically about to guide you with helpful hints. The only thing I missed was having a washer/dryer as I am used to doing some laundry midway through a vacation stay. No biggie; after all this is a summer cottage and there is a laundry mat in town, but we didn't use it. You do have to bring your own towels and sheets, and I also brought up extra toilet paper. But there were lots of supplies of other stuff and Linda explains it all to you before your arrival. She was very easy to deal with from the get go and always available for questions throughout the whole booking process and stay. This is a great place for a relaxing vacation and I highly recommend it!

Spring time on that lake

  • 5 of 5

The state parks weren't open yet, but with the cottage being right on the lake, we had quality 'water time.' The cottage is just like the pictures - bright, clean, and welcoming. If you like fishing, bring your pole (my husband forgot). There are notes and labels to help with any uncertainties, and the cottage has the little things you don't think of until you need them, like scissors. I have mobility issues, and this place worked better for me than most. There are few steps to get in there, then everything is on one floor.
