Overview

About the property

Cabin, 5 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 5 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

Welcome to Smoky Mountain. Our home away from home is located in beautiful Wears Valley. The cabin in perched all alone at the top of a mountain right next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Being the only cabin at the end of the subdivision, our home truly offers you the chance to "get away from it all". Occasionally a car will drive up to take in the wonderful view. Otherwise, there is no traffic, which is perfect for children. Our home is not just a cabin for rent. It has a cozy, special feeling the moment you walk in the door. The bedrooms are all cozy and decorated beautifully. It is our desire that you feel welcome and among friends at your temporary home away from home.

Enjoy the breath-taking sunsets that give way to the twinkling lights of Townsend and Wears Valley from one of four decks. Enjoy a romantic (or family) dinner on the top deck softly lit by the setting sun and the swags of cabin deck lights. Spend the whole day outside curled up on the wicker couch alternately enjoying the gorgeous views and that book you've been trying to read. Challenge your family and friends to a game of pool or ping-pong, play numerous games on the Play Station 2, watch many different movies (DVD/VCR) with many kid-friendly videos available, or spend a lazy afternoon by the fire putting together a puzzle. Reconnect with your loved ones at Christmas as you listen to beautiful Christmas music and enjoy the decorations. Sit on the deck and watch misty clouds roll in ahead of refreshing mountain storms. (We have literally had clouds roll in our dining room door!) Or watch the fireworks show that some sweet soul always seems to put on just for our cabin on the 4th of July and New Years. Oh, and of course, there's a hot tub.

With so much to do at home, you might be tempted to never leave. But Townsend, Cades Cove, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and of course the National Park offer so much fun for all ages. Hopefully, the hardest job you'll have while vacationing here is deciding who to see, what to do, where to go, and what to eat. And if you can't decide, there's always tomorrow. Scenic hiking, interesting museums, fun attractions, awesome shows, fabulous restaurants, cool swimming, great shopping, and of course one of our personal favorites, ice skating at Ober Gatlinburg are just some of the wonderful things you'll experience while here. We just know that you'll fall in love with Wears Valley and the surrounding area just like we have. But most of all, we hope you leave our home with the cherished memories of precious moments spent with those dearest to your heart and precious moments of soul-restoring quiet solitude.

Why Greg and Lisa Bishop chose Sevierville

Wears Valley is one of the most beautiful places in Tennessee. It almost has a magical quality. Our cabin is a very special retreat set in a very special place that offers almost absolute solitude just minutes away from tons of fun. We feel so blessed to own our home.

What makes this cabin unique

Bears, coyotes, other wildlife, awesome displays of nature, and absolutely gorgeous mountain views are some of the things you'll enjoy while staying at Smoky Mountain. A cabin beautifully decorated with cozy home furnishings, linens washed in dye-free, scent-free detergent, and endless possibilities awaiting you are some more things you might enjoy. And there's no sand:)

Great time

  • 4 of 5

The cabin with exceptional view. Everything inside cabin well keep, except kitchen faucet running water not enough pressure. Also too many insect: flights, bugs inside cabin as we arrived.

Other than small issues, this was a very nice place to a view of great smoky national park indeed.

Beautiful Log Home for a Family Get-away!

  • 5 of 5

Ahhh, is what every member of our family said when they entered this beautiful log home in the mountains.

This home exceeded our expectations in most every way. The five bedrooms were large and nicely decorated. The great room and kitchen were open which allowed lots of communicating among the family.

When sitting on one of the multiple decks you felt like you were living among the clouds!

The location of this home was very convenient to the entrance to the park as well as to Townsend. Plus, even though this home is up the mountains there was ample parking for 5-6 cars.

The owners were very helpful and answered my texts immediately.

My adult children and I have already discussed coming back to this beautiful home again!

Tremendous view! Paved roads all the to front door. Great parking. Plenty of space.

The property is in a great location. Away from all the bumper to bumper traffic in town, but close enough for an excursion into town when your ready to go there. Plus, it is a great cabin with lots of amenities and an awesome view.

Great family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

What a great vacation place for my family!

Every other year, my siblings (with our significant others) and our father take a vacation together. This year we picked the Smoky Mountain area and, thankfully, found this house and picked it due to its superb reviews. It truly has the greatest view of Wears Valley! It was incredibly relaxing to sip my cup of coffee in the morning while watching the clouds move over the mountain tops and to gaze at the beautiful sunsets in the evening. The owner, Greg, was a pleasure to work with. Within hours of completing on the online reservation, he left a message thanking us for reserving the house and to call if we had any questions, which was a great personal touch.

I would highly recommend this house!

High Points:

5 bedrooms - 4 of them with attached bathrooms, 2 half baths (one downstairs and one on

middle level)

Well maintained hot tub

Fantastic views

Close to the action - about 20 minutes from Pigeon Forge and 25 from Gatlinburg

Well stocked with the basics of linens, paper towels, household cleaners, toilet paper, etc.

Very nice grill

Pool table and ping pong table in great shape

Lots of toys and movies

Blunt Honesty Points I think future renters would like to know:

No Wifi - Cell phones still work great

Contradictory to a previous review, there are only four dining room chairs - We brought up a

barstool from the lower level, so all 9 of us were able to eat together

Contradictory to previous review, no toaster - Not a huge issue, just though to mention it in

case you really love your toast or English muffins in the morning.

No seasonings - Again, not an issue, but previous houses we've rented have always had

staple seasonings other renters have left behind. If you want something other than salt

and pepper, be sure to bring it.

You have to take your trash to the compactor about 10 minutes away - not a huge issue and

makes sense due to the location.

House was very clean - Definitely no issues with cleanliness, but if you are very sensitive to

dust, you may want to Swiffer under the beds before getting settled.

Thank you, Greg & Lisa, for sharing your home with us! We truly enjoyed our stay!
