Overview

About the property

Cabin, 5 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 5 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

Welcome to Smoky Mountain. Our home away from home is located in beautiful Wears Valley. The cabin in perched all alone at the top of a mountain right next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Being the only cabin at the end of the subdivision, our home truly offers you the chance to "get away from it all". Occasionally a car will drive up to take in the wonderful view. Otherwise, there is no traffic, which is perfect for children. Our home is not just a cabin for rent. It has a cozy, special feeling the moment you walk in the door. The bedrooms are all cozy and decorated beautifully. It is our desire that you feel welcome and among friends at your temporary home away from home.

Enjoy the breath-taking sunsets that give way to the twinkling lights of Townsend and Wears Valley from one of four decks. Enjoy a romantic (or family) dinner on the top deck softly lit by the setting sun and the swags of cabin deck lights. Spend the whole day outside curled up on the wicker couch alternately enjoying the gorgeous views and that book you've been trying to read. Challenge your family and friends to a game of pool or ping-pong, play numerous games on the Play Station 2, watch many different movies (DVD/VCR) with many kid-friendly videos available, or spend a lazy afternoon by the fire putting together a puzzle. Reconnect with your loved ones at Christmas as you listen to beautiful Christmas music and enjoy the decorations. Sit on the deck and watch misty clouds roll in ahead of refreshing mountain storms. (We have literally had clouds roll in our dining room door!) Or watch the fireworks show that some sweet soul always seems to put on just for our cabin on the 4th of July and New Years. Oh, and of course, there's a hot tub.

With so much to do at home, you might be tempted to never leave. But Townsend, Cades Cove, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and of course the National Park offer so much fun for all ages. Hopefully, the hardest job you'll have while vacationing here is deciding who to see, what to do, where to go, and what to eat. And if you can't decide, there's always tomorrow. Scenic hiking, interesting museums, fun attractions, awesome shows, fabulous restaurants, cool swimming, great shopping, and of course one of our personal favorites, ice skating at Ober Gatlinburg are just some of the wonderful things you'll experience while here. We just know that you'll fall in love with Wears Valley and the surrounding area just like we have. But most of all, we hope you leave our home with the cherished memories of precious moments spent with those dearest to your heart and precious moments of soul-restoring quiet solitude.

Why Greg and Lisa Bishop chose East

Wears Valley is one of the most beautiful places in Tennessee. It almost has a magical quality. Our cabin is a very special retreat set in a very special place that offers almost absolute solitude just minutes away from tons of fun. We feel so blessed to own our home.

What makes this cabin unique

Bears, coyotes, other wildlife, awesome displays of nature, and absolutely gorgeous mountain views are some of the things you'll enjoy while staying at Smoky Mountain. A cabin beautifully decorated with cozy home furnishings, linens washed in dye-free, scent-free detergent, and endless possibilities awaiting you are some more things you might enjoy. And there's no sand:)

Cozy, comfortable, clean, spacious, heavenly views!

  • 5 of 5

Great private get away. Close to fun, no matter what you like to do. Plenty of room to enjoy family and friends, yet privacy for all when needed. Well stocked with kitchen and bathroom needs. No lack of toys and entertainment for kiddos. Beautiful views of the mountains in every location in the home. Very much enjoyed our family time in this cozy cabin. Great memories.

Envious Mountain Experience-Return in a heart beat!

  • 5 of 5

Excellent experience. Five Chronologically gifted Sunday School couples spent 3 glorious days in this "cabin". The main floor great room with the 2 story cathedral ceiling was great for gathering together for conversation and game playing. The gas fireplace added to the ambiance as well as warmth as we settled in against a cold front that brought very strong winds and pelting rain. All five bedrooms sleep comfortably and are decorated beautifully. The upstairs two bedrooms with dormers are ensuites on either side of an open loft overlooking the main floor great room. The two down stairs bedrooms are also comfortable and beautifully decorated and located off the pool table room and the open room with another gas fire place. The bedroom off the pool table room is not an ensuite; however, it has access to a half bathroom while the north side bedroom off the open room (used for ping pong) is an ensuite with direct access onto the porch with the "hot tub". The Master suite is on the main floor with access from the great room. Entrance into the house from the street is up 4 stairs to a front porch with another 3 inch step into the main floor foyer; therefore, access does require decent mobility; however, the 10 of us with bad hips, backs, knees, and other assorted physical limitations managed to enjoy every inch of this great house.

The kitchen is open to the dining room and is well equipped with very nice dishes, silverware, and routine appliances such as a 12 cup coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, and a side by side frig with in-door icemaker and water. The counter is a large wrap around with 4 great looking and uniquely carved log bar height chairs. The dinning room table easily accommodates the 6 solid log chairs and they have available cushions to add for comfort.

The great room has a full comfortable couch and two very comfortable chairs (great for napping) along with a rocker. We were able to get 10 of us in there using cushions on the hearth or using the kitchen chairs. Unfortunately, due to the weather and temps, we were not able to use the well appointed decks/deck furniture or grill and hot tub.

The owners are great people to deal with (though not local); but the local cleaning crew maintains the cabin in superb fashion. The towels are luxurious and the sheets are top tier. The pillows are comfortable; however, if you are used to a thick or very fluffy pillow, then bring your own. We all slept well.

A perfect paradise in the mountains!

The cabin is very clean and fully equipped. The house has great space for a large gathering and lots of space for alone time. The views are amazing with no obstacles restricting your view. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Beautiful place with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

Really cozy place with great views of the mountains. Really cozy interior, all the bedrooms were nice and private. The game room in the basement was also great. It's in a really central area of Wear's valley, really close to everything (restaurants, the park entrance) but still really secluded with really no neighbors in sight. Would definitely recommend or stay there again next time we're staying near the national park.

Wonderful place to stay

Wonderful home that lives up to the claim "best view in Wares Valley". Fully stocked kitchen, great furnishings; lots of fun playing ping pong and pool. Only could have been better with wifi (but heard my be coming soon). Will certainly be back.
