En 'The New River Trail'

Este 1800 Sq. el hogar del pie está situado en la ciudad histórica del molino de Fries, VA. El hermoso río New fluye por nuestro pequeño pueblo en su camino hacia el norte. 'The New River Trail' sigue el río desde Fries a Pulaski durante más de cincuenta millas. Es un proyecto 'Rails to Trails' para ciclistas, excursionistas y caballos. Hay muy poca inclinación o decente y encontrarás caballetes, un túnel, hermosas flores silvestres, bancos de arena y mucha sombra fresca en bosques profundos en su mayoría aislados. La pesca es excelente junto con piragüismo, tubos y kayak.

Blue Grass Music es abundante con The Galax Fiddlers Convention y Fries Fiddlers Convention la segunda y tercera semana de agosto.

La casa está a solo 22 km del Parque Nacional más visitado, 'The Blue Ridge Parkway' y el Blue Ridge Music Center.

Para aquellos de ustedes que buscan la maravilla, hay mucha tierra estrecha y caminos pavimentados con pastos, montañas, arroyos y valles para explorar.

This is our second stay at "Nana's House" and it was as nice as our first one a couple of years ago. The house is spotlessly clean, the hosts make it easy to check in and out and it is a very comfortable place to stay. It's in a nice, friendly neighborhood and has easy access to the New River State Park trail for biking or walking. If you are here on a Thursday night in the summer; head on up to the historic Fries Theatre downtown for an evening of old time music including a chance to win a cake at the cake walk!

Our stay was great. When we walked in the front door we felt at home. The house was very clean and beds were very comfortable. The perfect place to make memories.

The front porch of this home is just as inviting in-person as this picture implies... awesome home! We had 4 adults and each had our own comfy bed. Perfect! Terrific kitchen, comfortable dining room, living room & TV room. We loved being only minutes to the New River Trailhead. We appreciated this wonderful home has a washer & dryer. We also enjoyed the local Fries Steak House for dinner. Rachel & Richard are great hosts! They communicate well, are flexible, and provided everything we needed and then some. I highly recommend this property!

Great place to stay very pleasant.

We stayed here with another couple to go riding on the New River Trail. The place could not have been better. We loved it, the location is very quite and relaxing. The beds are very comfortable and the owner thought of everything.

Great spot to enjoy music and biking

We had a wonderful stay at Nanas place in Fries. The house is lovely and a great place to relax after a long day of riding. We also enjoyed the proximity to live music as we were able to experience the Thursday night Jam at the Theater in Fries and a wonderful concert at the Blue Ridge Music Center on the Parkway. Will definitely consider staying at Nanas Place again!

This was our second stay. We feel so at home there. The neighbors are friendly. We so enjoyed the front porch. We shared several breakfasts on that porch and several dinners by candlelight. We want to return soon.

Relaxing

This was the perfect place to stay. The owners were so nice. The house is well appointed with everything you need! My 2 Sisters and I stayed here and we all had plenty of space. The neighborhood was quiet and it was so relaxing. We played cards, watched movies and just sit out on the porch and talked. What a great time we had!

The house was quiet, clean and well maintained.

If you are looking for a quiet county getaway this rental is for you. We rented this home for three nights to ride the New River Trail. The home is close to the trail and the neighborhood is amazingly peaceful. The neighbors were friendly and the deck and front porch were are favorite place after dinner. I highly recommend this home.

Great location! Very nicely decorated. We parked behind the house via the alleyway.

Loved meeting Richard. He came to the rescue when we were cold. Rachel was great at responding to questions. Loved being abke to sit on front pirch this morning and enjoy our coffee. If you are in the area this is a great place to stay. We rode bikes on the New River Trail. Went and found the two tunnels. We had a great time for 67 to 73 year olds!

Great Place

This home was exactly as pictured! The neighborhood was quiet and close to the river. Our only problem, no cell service at best spotty. The owners provide a land line which made us more comfortable in case a family member would need us. We would definitely return to this home.

Five years and going strong!

What started as a place to visit while attending the Hillsville Antique Festival, has become the more important of the two. Just as the name implies, this cozy cottage is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy friends and catch up with the friends we've made in Fires. Each year, as we round the bend and see Nana's, each of us has the feeling of coming home.

Great biking get away with old friends.

The house was in a nice location on a quiet street. Walking distance to a beautiful park along the river. Very close to the New River Trail (though temporary closures forced us to access the trail in other locations). Check the state park website for updates if you’re biking. As others have said, the upstairs bathroom was pretty tight, but the bedrooms and living areas were spacious. We enjoyed the porches and pretty backyard.
