Absolutely lovely host and home! My family and I recently stayed here for a wedding in the area. My whole family was impressed with the clean, pet friendly, and family friendly environment. The home is charming and quite beautiful as the host maintained many of the original elements that make MCM homes so beautiful and unique. Parking was easy and plentiful for our two vehicles. We had excellent communication with the host the entire time. She was very quick to respond even helping us find the home when we got turned around in the neighborhood. I cannot speak highly enough about Jenna! She was a fantastic host! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you, again!

Thank you so much for your kind words. It was my pleasure to host your family and I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. Happy travels!
The house has an awesome retro vibe and Jenna was a great host! The bar across the street is an interesting hole in the wall for people watching if you don’t mind the smoke.
We had a great stay here! The host, Jenna, was wonderful! Very organized and communicated so well. The house has games/activities for kids and a notebook of suggested things to do in the area.
Nicely updated but also lots of vintage elements! So much charm!
Well provisioned kitchen! Linens were nice and towels were fluffy! Overall a great stay!

Thank you so much! We were delighted to have you stay and hope you visit again. Best, Jenna
We loved the house and the location was awesome. I wouldn't say it was pet friendly because of the rules. Our daughter and son in law didn't bring their dog for that reason. In the end it worked out better, less to worry about. We will absolutely rent again because we have family in Smithville.

Thank you so much for the review and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your input. We would love to have you stay again. Best wishes!
Jenna is a very attentive hosts. We were in town for a weekend wedding and she even left us some wedding greeting cards if we needed them. The home is abundantly furnished and comfortable. It is clean and neat and has a retro feel.
It is very easy to find, has ample parking and an enclosed garage. The property is also dog friendly which was a huge plus for us as my Senior adult cousins have one and it travels everywhere they go.
Looking forward to staying again in the future.

Thank you so much! We would love for you to visit again.
I loved the details of this house. You can yell that they are trying to curate the furnishings based on how old the house is. Furniture was mostly mid-century modern but some were art deco. The oven, which is very old but in fantastic condition, was gorgeous. Host was great at communicating. No real problems but just a FYI to guests, there is an alley behind the house which has more convenient parking and access to the garage. Be careful though, there are two sliding glass doors into the house from the garage. I almost walked right into one. Wasn't expecting it. Beautiful home, quiet and affordable. Convenient drive to Bastrop.

Thank you for the review! We kept as much of the original charm as possible. Thank you for feedback about the 2 patio doors- I’ll add info or a small sign as it is a bit peculiar. We hope you stay with us again!

The departing message from the guest was “Hi, just letting you know we are out of the house now. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much for the Christmas tree and cookies! I will be writing an excellent review later this evening.” I think this review was left accidentally but guest has not responded to last message. All previous messages were very cordial, no mention of any problems. We always welcome guest feedback especially if there is something we can improve at the house. Thank you.
About the host

I am a native Texan, soon to be retired teacher and I've always loved to travel. Hosting great vacation experiences for others seemed like a fun next step in life and I found this amazing house. Everything came together beautifully!
Why they chose this property
I've always loved to explore Texas and Smithville has a relaxed, slow vibe charm with plenty of fun. Great restaurants, great antique shopping and there's a Consuela store! Music festivals, the annual bird festival, and live music regularly at the Fat Cat Lounge and Cafe. The people are genuine and great conversations are all around.
What makes this property unique
We loved the calming vibe of this house the second we walked in the door. This house has been loving cared for over the years and we preserved the original charm. The beautiful hardwood cabinets, wood doors and star pattern vanity countertop come together perfectly. Breath deeply, relax and enjoy the peace.
