Overall very enjoyable stay!

We’ve been staying at Litchfield by the Sea for seven years and this was our first stone staying at Captain’s Quarters. The space was great for our family…would have preferred at least one king bed but, overall it was a very comfortable place. We weren’t given enough swim passes nor were we given the code to the gates. Communication was difficult because we kept being referred to the front desk and experienced long wait times to get these questions answered. That’s what keeps this rating from being a five. Thanks for helping us create some great family memories!

Perfect spot for holiday stay

During the holidays, my family stayed in this unit. It was very clean and appeared as pictured in the online pics. The weather was a little iffy, but the balcony was a great spot to enjoy the ocean views. We enjoyed long walks around the resort. There was an issue with coffee maker(basket had been removed from unit), but it was quickly replaced--crisis averted! Will definitely look to return to this unit on our next stay. My family consisted of my husband, son daughter-in-law, and two daughters and we had plenty of room for everyone. everyone.evilawreplacedand crisis averted!

Overall, the property was nice and fit the description and the pictures. Some of the doors (bedroom 2 and bedroom 3 leading in hall and bathroom) were not functioning properly and needs to be fixed. We never found the proper wristbands for the pool area and were questioned by pool crew. I had to call to inquire about wristbands and then was told about a code to get in and out of the pool and onto beach. This information should be provided at check in. The kitchen stock (cleaning supplies, dish cloths and towels, and cutting utensils) needs a refresh. The carpet in the common area needs to be cleaned or replaced, soiled badly. Overall a good vacation, just some minor issues that could improve the stay for further tenants.

Not what we expected

Unfriendly check in clerk, condo carpet is filthy with large stains, dust covered corners in all rooms & behind beds creating allergy symptoms, due to coughing we checked furnace filter which was black with dust & gross & the furnace closet covered in dust ( ask your maintenance!) I have photos. Workmen on outdoor pool was so very noisy we we’re unable to sit out on the beautiful porch to experience the Sight & sound of the ocean. The living room furniture was comfortable, but all in all we cannot write this unit higher than a two.. we are thinking you shouldn’t even charge us for cleaning due to the fact that your maintenance vacuumed the furnace closet and a Clorox all the countertops and dusted bedroom lamps, shutters, and windows ledges.

Three cleaning fees and it’s still not clean

This area of South Carolina is very inviting and it was my first time to visit here. The community and the actual condo unit that we rented was lovely at first sightuntil you started looking around.The carpet and the living room dining room was filthy. On top of the general dirt level, there were huge spots on the carpet that looked like they had never been cleaned the master bathroom shower area had black mold like substance on it that apparently no one was trying to clean off The baseboards throughout the unit and the ceiling fans in each room had a good 8th to a quarter of an inch of dust piled up on them which my friend cleaned off before we turned them on. The door going into the bathroom and the second bedroom with the queen size bed sticks, and when you’re on the inside of the bathroom, you cannot get out. There are three separate cleaning fees, listed on my statement and the unit look like it had been cleaned by sightless person.Overall, I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the unit and will not rent there again.

Very nice condo and location

This is a very nice condo, however, I would not call it a “luxury” condo. Only the master bath has updated features. The other two have the lower counter/sinks. The furniture/beds are nice and comfortable. Some of the dresser drawers need to be repaired. The carpet is a good quality however it has many stains on it. The 2nd queen bed and bathroom had lock issues with the doors. This didn’t affect us but I told the Management Company about the issue. We booked through VRBO and received a confirmation email. We didn’t receive a “check in or check out “ procedures email. Someone did call and gave very detailed instructions for check in. I had to call about the check out procedures. When I emailed the host through VRBO, they were very responsive.The location is great to the pool and beach. The beach was well maintained and has a very wide and flat (packed) area for walking or even running. The balcony is large and has three screen/doors to come through and enjoy the scenery and weather.There are two, close, beach accesses and one has a ramp and stairs option. There is underground parking for one car for each unit. We didn’t hear any of the neighbors, it was very quiet. They maintain the outside, pool and grounds area every day.We were there in May, but the area is very quiet.
