About The Owner

The owner of this house grew up hiking in the Georgia mountains with her parents who taught her a love of nature's gifts. So she wanted to create a place where nature is center stage. As a licensed professional landscape architect and artist, she has used her skills in planning this house's location and design. She also has a home in Naples Florida which is a walk to the beach so between the two places she's really enjoying the best of life. She's very excited to offer what she has so enjoyed to others in this newly finished home.

The Owner purchased this chateau / country house in 2010

Why The Owner chose Helen

I have owned this property for 25 years and grown to know and love all it's features over that time. The area is perfect. Sautee is so close to Helen and has grown to become a center of history, the arts, and culture in recent years. I feel the presence of history in the land here. The spirit and evidence of the Cherokee Indians are all around us here as well as those of the early settlers. This is a place where time does not whizz by and I feel connected to what is eternal. What more can I say than that.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

When I am here for a few days something unwinds in me. My senses become more aware. My eye's and ears become sensitized to the subtle beauties and music of nature. Also I begin to feel a connection to the land in a deep way that fills me with peace.

Wonderful Relaxation Time

  • 5 of 5

Just the right spot for our family that had been under stress. The quiet home atmosphere was what we all needed. A great way for our family to enjoy Christmas. Thanks Helen, your home is lovely.

Beautiful View

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a place to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday in the mountains. I wanted a place that had a beautiful view. And this place was it! The house was very cute and clean. A very short drive to Helen Georgia which we spent most of our time. We would definitely come back again.

Very peaceful location and an ideal spot to relax with family and friends.

  • 5 of 5

Will most definitely try and return, we had a great long weekend in the house with family and friends. Very specious kitchen lounge area and a huge master bedroom suite upstairs. So quiet on the wrap around deck you cannot hear a thing except wildlife. Views from the front deck change so quickly in the morning from sunrise.

Great Weekend

  • 5 of 5

The owner is very easy and responsive to work with. The property is lovely and the views fantastic. Home is clean and comfortable. Close to Helen and Oktoberfest. Gravel drive can be hairy in places. But just need to take it slow. Had a wonderful stay.

Beautiful home and setting

  • 4 of 5

My hubby and our little fur kids had a great time over Memorial Day weekend - the home had everything - cozy, well equipped, super comfy beds and a killer view!! We want to come back in the fall or winter - so a fireplace would be nice - Mary Ellen is amazingly talented in art and decorating - home was spotless! We will return ! Dave and Glenda Adams
