Very nice home. Well kept.
It's a charming cottage!
Walking in the cottage I instantly fell in love with it. My family was in town two nights for a reunion in Holland, MI, which was about a 20 minute drive away, and we all wanted to stay together, instead of in a hotel. It is hard to find a house for only two nights, for that many people. Everyone loved it. We loved hanging out in the screened porch in the evening while some enjoyed the hot tub. The basement was fun with the pool table and the video game. The kitchen was well stocked and clean, but we didn't cook any meals. Only one person got the chance to walk to the lake, but was not impressed. I thought I would be able to see the lake from the description, but it is a wooded area and lovely. We actually wished we had more down time to just hang out at the house.
We wanted another couple to stay with us but the house is limited to eight. There would have been room for two more. (association rules).
The reason for only four stars...
the uncomfortable twin beds...so noisy! There must be an alternative to plastic on the mattresses. We pulled out the couch downstairs thinking that would be better, but it was not!; extremely uncomfortable!!! We honestly got very little sleep!
The remote parking is VERY remote and inconvenient. I can't imagine what it would have been like if two cars had to park there.
It was hard for all of us to get ready with just two bathrooms and the lighting in them is horrible!
It is a lot of work with eight people to shower, clean up, strip beds, and wash towels before checking out at 10:00 AM. We ALWAYS try to leave a place as clean or cleaner when we leave, but the laundry might be a bit much. Security came by to question the fourth car which was only there in the morning for maybe an hour max, to pack it up. They waited by the curb to make sure we were out on time.
With all that being said, yes, we would stay here again. If we hadn't been on a schedule it would have been much easier and more relaxing. Unless they change the bed situation, we would have to bring foam toppers or less people.
It really is a great property!
Really great get away cabin
The cabin was nicely furnished and decorated. There was a lot of kitchen utensils, games, towels, etc. The screened in back porch was wonderful. We were all very comfortable and had a great time. It was clean, well-maintained and provided plenty of room for both families. I would definitely come here again.
The log cabin community is adorable with easy access to the private lake, as well as being 11 minutes from Oval Beach - which was fantastic!!! The setting was wooded and felt private. The owner was very easy to work with. Great experience!!!
The only downfall were the beds - I don't think I could sleep on them for a week. Everything else was very comfortable.
Such a peaceful place!
The cabin was great! Clean, great amenities inside the cabin for all ages! The inside of cabin was perfect, the outside/landscaping could use a little tlc though ( which is why only 4 stars) Quiet cul-de-sac with a short walk to the private beach/swimming area! Weather wasn't perfect for swimming, but fishing was fun. Plenty to do in the Saugatuck area.
Wonderful place! We all had a very memorable vacation.
Loved the cabin and beautiful setting. The lake was great for swimming and for catching some fish. Everything was close by which was nice too. The basement was an excellent space for games so others could converse or read upstairs. We enjoyed the screened in porch and patio each day. We will definitely consider a return trip to Hidden Dunes. It was a great home away from home.
Two things we noticed though: the grill needs some minor repair although it works. Some of the burners do not work. Also there is quite a bit of poison ivy along the path to the lake. Yes, people should stay on the path. Maybe a sign stating the presence of poison ivy will keep people on the path.
