This Suite was Sweet!

This 3 bedroom 3 bath Penthouse Unit was awesome. It is centrally located in Waikiki and walkable to everything -- restaurants, shopping and the beach. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which is rare in Waikiki and all bedrooms are spread out around the living room so everyone has privacy. The furniture is exactly as depicted on the site which might appeal to some, but not all, as it is very "royal" but does fit in with the theme for the Royal Gardens. It was clean and comfortable and well appointed. The rental agent, Hazel, was amazing and answered all questions and was quite helpful. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Spacious and perfect for large families.

This condo is roomy and spacious. Perfect for large families. Great location and only a 5 min walk from the beach. The furnishings are a bit outdated, but all in all a nice place to stay.

Perfect for a Group of 5!

I jumped on a cheap flights sale from Australia to Honolulu about 6 months ago and then had to organise a holiday that would please myself, my husband, and three of our best friends (2 of whom also a married couple). As soon as I started researching I realised that booking 3 hotel rooms with everything we wanted was going to be quite expensive and stumbled upon the VRBO website somehow.

Hazel was exceptionally easy to deal with and responded to all my questions promptly. We were able to book an early check in with no drama and at a cost of only $50.

The apartment itself is on the top floor of a hotel/condo building. It's furnishings are interesting (people from Melbourne: think Franco Cozzo!) but could do with an update. There is plenty of space and everything that you need, unless you're planning on cooking a lot--the kitchen is tiny. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which was great for the 5 of us. The clothesline in the bathroom on the left of the foyer doesn't work, and the bathroom door doesn't close properly, so being able to close the wing off entirely is good for privacy. The bedroom closest to the kitchen has the best balcony; the bedroom that is on the opposite side of the foyer might as well not have a balcony at all (it is very narrow).

The staff in the building are a mixed bag. Greg on the driveway was fantastic and super friendly. The majority of the other staff didn't help us at all and responded to our questions with "Sorry, you're staying in a condo, so....". Nicole on the Concierge desk assisted with booking all of our activities (ziplining, parasailing, Pearl Harbor, outlets shopping and more) but the other two ladies on the desk wouldn't help us and told us to come back when Nicole was working. If you're looking for hotel style service then book elsewhere!

Location wise, the apartment is about a ten minute walk from the beach and most of the restaurants in Waikiki, which suited us perfectly as it was a bit quieter than our next accommodation. There's a trolley stop for the Pink Line at the end of the street too, so if you're not a walker it's $2 to jump on and be taken around Waikiki and Ala Moana. We hired a car for a couple of days and managed to get free street parking at night, since we were willing to move the car out by 9am the next morning.

We will definitely try to stay here again for our next trip to Oahu!

Not good

Won't stay here again. Hotel is nice the suite is ok but beds were Extremely uncomfortable and dining table was broken. We couldn't even use it. Your plates will literally fall off the table

Vacuum didn't work, so the whole week we stayed their our floors were filthy :(

Kitchen is Extremely small. Only 1 person can stand in it at a time

And don't even think you'll be able to use any of your devices on wifi

No wifi what so ever

When I brought up a few issues to the property manager, she was SO Rude. She could've apologized and we would've put it all behind us. She said she would come and see the issues for herself then changed her mind and never showed up. Then emailed me saying it wasn't important and she didn't want to waste her time

Worst property manager I've ever dealt with

If you're spending close to 500 per night. I would recommend u spend it somewhere else

You might Atleast get a better sleep at night on decent beds

Owner's Response: Dear Future Guests, I could go into detail about how this is a repeat renter who had previously stayed in this unit before (and therefore had already known that the size of the kitchen is exactly as it's shown in the photos). I could also write that this renter had previously complained so much after her last stay that the prior manager ended up giving her a large refund just to appease her. I could show the various emails between us where she brought her complaints to my attention at almost 10pm on the night before her last full day there, and I could paste a copy of my email saying, "I'm sorry you are upset" to prove that I did apologize. Instead, I will simply ask that you read the review right before this one, where the guest raved about "quite possibly the best experience" she's had working with "the most professional person" she's dealt with, and how the "professional attitude and attention to detail" gave them the "best souvenir" of their trip. To say that I was "SO rude" and accuse me of saying I didn't want to "waste my time seeing her" is completely false. After her many emails insulting not only the property but also me as a person, I did end up saying that it was pointless to subject myself further to such insults face to face, and therefore would not be coming to see her anymore (I had told her I would be at the property in the daytime and would take a look, but she requested that I come after 7:30pm "after her kids had eaten their dinner"). We always strive to make our guests happy and comfortable and go above and beyond to ensure they have a great vacation. We can only do this if we are made aware of things as they happen, not a week later on the last day of their trip. I suspect this renter was just trying to get me to offer another big refund like my predecessor had given them. Otherwise, why else would she wait until her last day THEN bring up how unhappy she was? She stated the internet did not work yet it worked enough for her to send a barrage of insults and complaints at the last minute? Why not bother asking for help with it sooner? When I did not offer a refund they retaliated by leaving every dish in the unit dirty and garbage bags piled up in the kitchen. As an update, a screw had fallen off the table but it has now been "fixed", the vacuum cleaner has been replaced even though it wasn't "broken", and the beds are a matter of personal preference. We've had no prior complaints so they will remain in place as is.

Perfect Stay for Large Families

I recently stayed at this property as part of a large family of 6 adults from 3 different families. We also had 2 infants with us, including my 4-month-old. I was worried that co-ordinating such a large group - and dealing with being a new parent - would be challenging, but staying at this property, and working with Hazel, made for a great vacation - quite possibly the best experience we've had in Hawaii to date.

Hazel was an especially positive contributor to our overall great experience. She was the most professional person I dealt with out of all the other VRBO property managers, which was one of the main deciding factors in choosing this property. And I'm really glad we did go with Hazel, as she was so helpful, like helping us with playpens for the kids, and staying in communication with us before and during the stay. Her professional attitude and attention to detail made our stay easy. She put my mind at ease so I could spend time actually enjoying our time as a new family. It was the best souvenir of our trip.

As for the property, it was exactly what we needed: each family had their own bedroom and full bathroom; a great big living room where we could all enjoy each other's company at the end of the day; central air conditioning; easy access to all the fun activities in Honolulu; a functional kitchen so we could clean and sterilize baby things; quick elevators that were never busy; a safe surrounding neighbourhood - the list goes on.

I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone in a large group or family who wants to enjoy Honolulu while staying together. I will definitely be using this property again when we need to come back to Honolulu.

Awesome Accommodation

We stayed at this awesome three bedroom three bathroom apartment on the top floor of the Royal Gardens Waikiki, Wyndham Resort, for 9 nights. I was so happy to find this apartment as I struggled to find a place for our whole family to stay at. Very short walk to a wide range of convience stores to by supplies for the very well equipped kitchen. Spacetious bedrooms and lounge with great views. Lots of very good restaurants close by as well. Made use of the great pool and the laundry facilities on a regular basis. Also really close to great shopping, we walked to the Ala Moana mall, however did have to taxi home due to the shopping overload. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks for being so accommodating Hazel.
