Overview

About the property

Townhome, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Looking for a luxurious and comfortable vacation getaway that offers spectacular views of Sedona's world-famous Red Rocks?

Then look no further.

Our 2-bedroom (with brand-new king-sized master bedroom set in 2016!), 2.5-bath, 2-story (1,280-square-foot) casita at the gated Canyon Mesa Country Club has everything you need for a vacation you'll remember for a lifetime.

Start with an early morning round on the nine-hole, executive golf course, a tennis match on one of the two newly resurfaced hard courts or just wander through the meticulously groomed grounds. Cool off with a dip in the refreshing saltwater pool or soak in the hot tub/spa (both open May 1 through Oct. 31; in 2017 the pool is staying open until Nov. 1, the spa until Dec. 1) before heading out on one of Sedona's countless hiking trails.

Bell Rock (which contends with Cathedral Rock as the most famous Red Rock formation) and Red Rock Crossing (one of the Southwest's most photographed scenes, with Cathedral Rock reflecting in the Oak Creek)—two of the area's four vaunted vortices—and Courthouse Butte are just around the corner. We have left a Red Rock Pass for our guests to use and share, though it's not needed at many sites.

Take a break to shop in Uptown Sedona or to lunch in one of the varied eateries in the Village of Oak Creek and-or Sedona, and don't forget to take in a spectacular sunset from the Airport Vortex in West Sedona before heading back to your home-away-from-home for a casual outdoor barbecue or a gourmet home-cooked meal.

Our casita features a deck off the living room for your morning coffee and a terrace off the master bedroom for a breath of fresh canyon/mesa air and a view of Bell Rock. Both outside spaces have new eucalyptus wood bistro sets and new wicker chairs and tables. There's a newly remodeled, fully equipped kitchen with a granite countertop and new stainless microwave and dishwasher. The main floor, which has a wood-burning fireplace, has been refinished with upgraded tile flooring and cozy new furniture. The upstairs, with skylights in the bedrooms and bathrooms, is carpeted, and there is a washer-dryer (including detergent and dryer sheets) for your use. Our unit has Wi-Fi.

Updates include the king-sized bed and flat-screen television in the master suite, antique Arizona quilts and a variety of interesting and unique home decorating touches.

We fell in love with Sedona the first time we laid eyes on it and are confident that you will feel the same way. So what are you waiting for? Contact us today and start planning an unforgettable vacation.

About Rich&Jean

Rich and Jean Donnelly love leaving the canyons of New York City behind for the beauty and serenity of the Red Rocks in Arizona. Jean stumbled across Sedona after a business trip to Las Vegas about 15 years ago and fell in love. When she subsequently fell in love with Rich, they visited Sedona together and quickly found the feeling was mutual. When they finally reach retirement age, they'll move to Sedona full-time, but for now they visit as often as possible. Canyon Mesa Country Club offers the best of everything Sedona has to offer—tremendous views, an executive nine-hole golf course (Jean's just learning), a pool/hot tub, tennis courts and easy access to the hiking trails throughout the region. They'd love to share their passion with you, so come and stay at their casita in Canyon Mesa CC and see what you've been missing.

Perfect escape to the Sedona area!

  • 5 of 5

Thanks to Jean and Rich for a perfect place to escape to Sedona. After several years of staying in hotels, we tried VRBO and couldn't be happier. This Casita is exactly as pictured. Very clean, very convenient, and everything we needed in the kitchen. Great location to easily access the beautiful hiking in Sedona. We have already booked for next year!

Quiet, spacious, nice tennis court

  • 5 of 5

We were here for only three nights, so weren't buying major groceries. It would be nice to have a keurig coffee machine, as no coffee is supplied with the unit.

It met everything need we had and more. So close to trails for hiking to see rock formations. Not far from all the boutiques right in Sedona, but you do have to drive to everything. If you have a car, you're all set on a great place to stay.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay in our casita and the tennis courts. You describe it perfectly--we, too, love the quiet and serenity and the close proximity the hustle and bustle of Uptown Sedona. Our golf course now offers FootGolf for the soccer enthusiasts.

Don't go here!

Very dirty kitchen, and carpets. Needs to be painted. Dirty kitchen cabinets. Dishwasher didn't work. Linens didn't fit beds. Steps were not described in the listing. It was very difficult for me as I have neurapathy.

Owner's Response: These guests caused our property manager such angst that she nearly quit the business after 30 years. They called her over and over during their stay to help them work the televisions they couldn't understand, hire them a cleaning person to come by each week of their monthlong stay--which for she paid for out out of her own pocket--picked up their mail and even bought them a new toaster since they also complained about that. We were flabbergasted to hear that they complimented the property manager, saying her service "was the best." Then they posted a review like this on VRBO?! Perhaps like with the televisions, they were confused about where they stayed? Receiving such a harsh review upon your departure following a month's stay is quite upsetting and alarming to us! We have both the onsite property manager who is in the country club on a daily basis as well as a diligent, caring cleaning staff. If they had complaints, why didn't they reach out to us earlier instead of posting a poor review online after they departed? We would have immediately addressed any and all of their concerns. We have always found our home to be clean and have never had any complaints about this before. The rugs are light colored--admittedly not the wisest choice for Red Rock country--and we just had them cleaned again. We also pay a hefty yearly premium for a home warranty policy so that our appliances and other elements--such as the heating and air conditioning--are repaired immediately should something go wrong. Did they let anyone--us or the property manager--know they were having issues with the dishwasher? Its repair or replacement is covered. Next, the linens fit the beds--there are two sets of king sheets as well as a couple for the twin beds. Not sure why thry were confused--perhaps they stumbled upon the old queen sheets that were used before we upgraded to our spectacular, new king bedroom set? And our site clearly states that our casita is two stories. If her neuropathy impacted her ability to climb stairs, she should have rented a one-level unit. We're sorry that their stay with us was less than ideal. Their relentless questions, issues with payment, inability to navigate the website and irrational complaints should give anyone pause. Wonder if the two dogs that they didn't mention--or pay for--had trouble with the stairs?

Nice, convenient townhome with all the perks of a country club.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time during our stay at this lovely little home. We we surprised at the size of it and even more surprised to see we had access to the club's golf course. Our 11 year old son discovered a new passion for golf! The home was perfectly situated just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the town's shopping and restaurants and a 10 minute drive to the north side of Sedona. We had a great time on our trip and really liked this property.
