The Sagamore Golf House is a beautiful custom Adirondack home with an open floor plan in a very tranquil setting with PLENTY of room to roam for a large group - inside and out. It is the only home that sits directly on the Sagamore Golf Course, and is convenient to town, the lake, and the many nearby attractions. The quaint resort town of Bolton Landing is 2 miles away, and has many options for dining and shopping. The Sagamore's outstanding Club Grill Steakhouse and Bar, as well as the golf course's pro shop and range, are a short walk up the 10th hole's cart path. Or stay at the house and enjoy all the comforts of home (plus many others)! The Sagamore Golf House has a home theater with surround sound and expansive DVD collection, a sports lounge with a proper bar and connecting medieval wine cellar with tasting table, a game room with ping pong and a foosball table, a billiards room with connecting cozy living room with fireplace and large screen TV, a fully-stocked gourmet kitchen, a private zen/yoga room loft in the master bedroom, a “secret” child’s play area for the little ones, a hot tub, a fire pit, a horseshoe pit, an expansive deck overlooking the golf course with a gas grill and comfortable seating, and a whole lot more...

You are here to relax and have fun, so let Susan, our Concierge/Property Manager (and experienced professional Destination Club Host) help plan your trip using her wealth of local knowledge and connections. Just outside your door, you'll find plenty of activities for the whole family in and around the resort community of Bolton Landing, New York.

In the warmer seasons, take the kids to one of the public beaches, rent a party boat and spend a lazy afternoon on the lake swimming or wetting a line where some of the best fishing for lake trout and land-locked salmon in the northeast can be found, or enjoy the gorgeous views of Lake George and its many islands on the numerous hiking trails that are perfect for all ages and abilities.

And of course, take advantage of the legendary Sagamore Golf Course next door. Golf Digest has rated this course the '5th Best Public Course in New York State' and Condé Nast named it a top U.S. resort course. The Sagamore’s championship golf course has also been named one of the “Best Golf Resorts in The Americas” by Golf Digest (2016), and ranked among the “Top 100 resort Golf Courses in America” in Golfweek’s Ultimate Guide 2016.

And don't forget Saratoga Springs and the Saratoga Race Track -- must-dos during the horse racing season.

As the weather cools, the fall foliage is spectacular. During the colder months, enjoy Gore Mountain less than 30 miles away, which offers more skiable acres than any other mountain in the state. With 2,537 feet of vertical, there is plenty of cruisers, steeps and glades to satisfy any level of skier or rider.

The Lake George Winter Carnival should not be missed with fun events for all ages on the frozen lake every weekend in February.

The Sagamore Golf House is also the perfect home-base for cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, sledding, ice fishing, and all your other favorite wintertime activities -- perfect for a winter getaway with the family and a bunch of friends.

About Doug

We stayed in the Sagamore Golf House as members of a travel destination club, and liked it so much we purchased the home when the club (very unfortunately) went bankrupt a few months later. The house was decked out by the club with the high-end traveler in mind, and we have maintained that level of comfort and style with all the amenities (and many more that we have added).

Doug purchased this house in 2011

Why Doug chose Bolton Landing

Imagine playing 10 holes, taking a short break to refresh and say hi to the rest of the crew at the house, then finishing up the remaining 8 holes. Then stop by the Club Grill's 19th hole before WALKING home to enjoy the hot tub and/or refreshments on the expansive deck watching the occasional golfer tee off on the par three 11th. Then off to dinner in town, or maybe stay in and cook in our gourmet kitchen, or grill on the deck... End the night with drinks and conversation in our cozy bar and lounge and medieval wine room with the game playing on the large screen TV, or hang around the fire pit. Meanwhile the kids are busy watching a movie in the home theater with surround sound, or playing ping pong, foosball and pool.

What makes this house unique

Enjoy all that the Adirondacks and Lake George region have to offer, and then come home to a truly tranquil setting where you can re-connect with family and friends away from the crowds. Other than the occasional golfer, enjoy a neighbor-free setting that is close to everything. Our experienced local concierge is available for any questions, and a terrific resource for information and help with planning excursions.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I want to let you know that we had a wonderful time at your home. It filled all of our needs and then some. It is a beautiful and very well equipped home. It is perfectly situated on the golf course and with lovely woods in the backyard. The kitchen was stocked with the necessary basics, and communication with Doug and the house manager Susan was easy and timely. We would definitely recommend anyone considering a stay here, and hope ourselves to be able to return in the future!

Beautiful and comfortable house!

  • 5 of 5

Me and my fiends stayed at the house for a weekend and we had an amazing time. The house is beautiful and clean. The homeowners were great and very helpful throughout the whole time. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Everything I dreamed it would be!

  • 5 of 5

If I could give this house 10 stars I would!

Last weekend, a group of 11 of us stayed at the Sagamore house to celebrate my 40th.

First I must say, booking on Homeaway and then corresponding with Doug the owner couldn’t have been any smoother.

Upon arrival, we were blown away how beautiful the house looked driving up the long driveway. And then even more impressed with the inside! We were greeted by the lovely House Host Susan. She gave us a thorough tour of the house, and answered any questions we had about the house and surrounding area. The home was fully stocked with clean towels, bedding, kitchen supplies, etc. The house was immaculate.

Our group of 11 adults fit more than comfortable in the 4 bedrooms and extra den with pullout couch. We fully took advantage of the lower level wine cellar, bar, ping pong table and pool table. There wasn’t a dull moment.

I highly recommend this house! It was great in the middle of winter, and can only imagine how wonderful it would be in the Summer months. We will definitely be renting this house again in the near future!!

A great ski weekend!

  • 5 of 5

-20 degree temps couldn't stop us from enjoying this house and the area! The house was perfect for us (4 kids, 4 adults). The kids loved the basement movie theatre and ping pong table, adults loved the living room, large kitchen with snowy views, and comfortable beds. House was kept well and Doug and Susan were a pleasure to work with. We skied at Gore 2 days -- one of my favorite east coast mountains. If the kids had more energy after skiing there are some nice sledding hills and cross country to be had right out the front door.

We went to Bolton Landing all 3 nights for dinner which was only about 5 minutes away and has some sneaky-good bars and restaurants. Worth a drive along the frozen lake too.

Highly recommend.... (so long as you don't pick the weekend we want for next year!).

Beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

Susan met us when we got there and thoroughly explained anything and everything we needed to know about the house. Everything is extremely organzied, there are WiFi passwords around the house and every light switch and thermostat is labeled. The house is absolutely stunning. Perfect for a relaxing weekend, a lot in the house to keep you occupied like the movie room and game room. There is so much room for 12 people to sleep comfortably. Temperatures this weekend were in the negatives, but the house was extremely warm and cozy. Highly recommend!

Perfect Family Vacation House

  • 5 of 5

The house was exceptionally clean and well stocked. Comfortable and spacious sleeping accommodations and just minutes from the Lake and the many shops and restaurants in Bolton Landing. The owner and the property manager were an absolute pleasure to deal with, and were eager to assist to make sure our stay was first rate. We had a wonderful family vacation and would definitely rent this house again. Thanks for a great experience all the way around.

Great House, lots to do.

  • 5 of 5

Great house. Plenty of room for two families. Huge space, lots of amenities, i.e., home theater, hot tub, bar, wine cellar, fire pit, et al. Hands on management. Right on golf club, short walk to club house. Close to everything. We rented and docked a boat 3 minutes away so we did water activities and played golf daily. Really, an ideal place.
