Les douces brises et jours gĂ©nĂ©ralement ensoleillĂ©es de notre petit quartier locale font de ce charmant refuge parfait pour les clients en quĂȘte de tranquillitĂ©, la vie privĂ©e, et de commoditĂ© dans un climat confortable. Les baleines peuvent ĂȘtre vus (et parfois entendu) de votre vĂ©randa au cours de leur visite Ă  nos eaux. Insensible Ă  toute lumiĂšre environnante, la nuit est tout aussi enchanteur que les Ă©toiles remplir la pleine voĂ»te de ciel. Cependant, toutes les commoditĂ©s sont si proches que vous ne manquiez de rien. This was our 5th stay at this idyllic home. We keep coming back because of the beautiful facilities, lovely pool, the extensive ocean-view lanai for watching the sunrise and sunset (and for grilling dinner), the striking peace and quiet, the starry evening sky. We cannot help but RELAX and UNWIND! Rachel is a fantastic host; she's attentive but not intrusive in the least (her home is on the same property). The home is 15 minutes from Waimea (we love "The Fish and the Hog" restaurant) and about 40-ish minutes from fantastic shore diving at Puako. Pretty far from Kailua-Kona. If you are looking for a place to truly get away, this is the place!

Beautiful and peaceful. So enjoyed Rachel's guest house. The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. Fun watching the cruise ships go by at night and looking up at the millions of stars. Plus the fresh fruits and flowers were a special treat. The home itself was the perfect size for us Just wish we'd had more time to hang out.

Truly amazing!

Staying at Rachel’s house was an absolute delight! The beautiful surroundings, stunning ocean views, and refreshing breezes made for a truly relaxing getaway. The home was incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! 12 out of 10!!! Would absolutely recommend

Paradise in Paauhau or heaven in Honokaa

We stayed one week in Rachel’s Pool house and I didn’t want to leave. Now look, if you want a resort experience please just go to a resort but if you want to feel like you live in Hawaii this is the place to be. The view from the lanai is breathtaking and the pool house is the perfect size for two. I swam almost every day in the pool and watched the ocean in between laps. We visited the local Farmers market and hit the Public House our last day for delicious pizza (oh and Tex’s does have THE best malasadas. Our host Rachel was very helpful throughout our stay and the flowers she left for us upon arrival were beautiful! I really hope to come back here again next year.

The property is beautiful with a gorgeous ocean view! Very quiet, lots of birds! Our host, Rachel was very nice and the Ohana unit had everything we needed and is very nice. Loved the big kanai!

Peaceful, ocean-view remote guest house

Rachel’s quaint on-site guest house is a peaceful retreat on the Hamakua Coast, magnificent lanai and ocean view. The vintage house has had some updates and is fairly comfortable and reasonably stocked, wry clean. Rachel was a delight to meet, and very quietly respectful of our property. It is about 5-10 min drive outside of Honoka’a, which is a cute town (although no dinner restaurants!).Rachel’s pool looked very nice, hot tub is not working but we were out exploring most of our days. 15 min drive to Waimea,a beautiful drive where you can find about anything. The night sky view from the guest house was amazing; bring a star chart or app to enhance your viewing! Our only suggestion would be to have a bit more information about the house and maybe the local area provided, but we found our way around just fine. This is a beautiful location on a hillside looking out on the ocean, and a good waypoint for seeing Waimea, Kovals and even Hilo-town and surrounding areas.

Beautiful Peaceful home away

My mother and two brothers live on a plot in a remote part of Hamakua coast, near Honokaa. I visit at least once a year. Rachel, the host/owner, keeps a Ohana unit in wonderful shape, she's responsive and a pleasure to work with. She lives on-site. The day we arrived, so did the remnants of a small hurricane. The island and the property were being drenched. Rachel made it as easy as possible for us to get into the unit dry and safe. The unit itself has an unobstructed view of open Pacific. It is peaceful. At night you see the ships and the fishing boats working their way toward Hilo Town. It's a great place.

Beautiful and peaceful

We had a great stay at Rachel’s place. We were visiting friends in the neighborhood so the location was perfect for us. The house is roomy and everything we needed. The bed was comfy. Beautiful lanai views for morning coffee, meals and sunset. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. I would definitely book this wonderful place again.

Very nice unit with a great ocean view

The property sits at the end of a lane detached from the host’s home. The elevation is about 400’ above sea level in a remote area near the north shore. There is a small town within a 5 min drive. The unit has a nice large lanai with a view towards the ocean. The unit is well lived in with a nice kitchen, bath, bedroom and a small sitting area. The dining table is on the lanai. The host is very friendly and their day to day living does not interfere with the privacy of this rental unit. The unit itself could use some updates and a refresh, but it was comfortable. The king size bed is a nice feature, and although the pillow top cover helped, a new mattress would be a nice update. The evenings on the covered and partially enclosed lanai were quiet and very relaxing. The location is perhaps a bit more remote than we anticipated, but we enjoyed our stay. A couple of things the owners could address are; the oven door does not close properly so when we used it, the whole unit heats up, and the blinds are all in poor / worn shape and it is very hard to open (and close) the windows as is requested by the hosts when you cannot lift the blinds.

Magnificent Views!

The view of the vast Pacific Ocean is the gem of this property. Clean, classy and convenient. Honokaa is a short 2 mile drive and has everything you need. Tex’s malasadas are amazing!
