Great Stay - despite Hurricane Florence!

We spent so much time together in the massive third floor family room/kitchen/dining room area. We had game night every night in bar area on the second floor. We also loved the Foosball table and the hot tub! This was the best house we have ever stayed at in OBX, and it was so close to the beach! We look forward to coming back. Thank you so much for the stay!

Lucky for us we had great weather in October and were able to walk the short distance to the beach, spending hours there most days! Great to be back in Crown Point, (where we built one of the first houses there in 1993) Crown Point is a great community....The house had everything we needed for 3 generations of family. Remodeled kitchen is great!I would highly recommend this great house!

1. Filthy mold growing behind toilet!, and wall! The entire house sways like it’s going to fall down

Every time I touched something I couldn’t wait to wash up! After spending that much money we should be at a 5 star rental!, yours is maybes a 2? Very sad and frustrated! Thank you! But will never stay here again! Oh!, the house sways so either the house or the deck is ready to go, let’s just pray it doesn’t kill anyone!

Beautiful view from the deck and a quick walk to the beach. The rental company provided fresh towels at check-in and again mid-week which was nice. We couldn't find the wifi password anywhere but the rental company was very quick to get back to us with what we needed. The kitchen had everything we needed and the large pantry was helpful for storage. We will have fond memories of this vacation!!!

Great Place!

Upon reading prior reviews, the kitchen was noted to be an issue in the past but has been fully renovated so was perfect. The TV in the family room was still was not functional per prior reviews so we called maintenance and it was fixed. Of note, the door with the cable box needs to be open though for it to recognize the remote. We did alert the management that the air filters needed changing and hot tub temp was went down/turned itself on in afternoon. We used it the first night though without issue. Beach access is one house over but does have quite a few steps which an be more challenging for more senior guests. We enjoyed many sunrises and sunsets from the decks.

Reviewer Comments: My family needed to get away during the Covid pandemic.Only time in our lives that we will be able to drive to the Outer Banks in 12 hours flat from Boston.House location was perfect. House was spacious and clean. Hot tub was great. Pool was small and i heated but the beach was fantastic.Few issues some covid related some notSome necessities were lacking- no salt and pepper or any spices for cooking. We understand the limited toilet paper but there was no laundry soap,trash bags, paper towels, dishwasher soap or cleaning supplies.Also the TV situation is ridiculous. Out of all the TVs in the house and with all the instructions we were able to use two of them successfully. The entire system is soo outdated.Overall we had a great stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house easily accommodated all 15 of us from age 5 to 77. Plenty of places to spread out. The 5 youngest kids loved the dip pool. Close to a Food Lion and fish market. The only negatives were the unpreparedness of the house. It appeared that it had not been cleaned. Dirty carpet, nothing dusted, table and night stands with coffee rings and finger prints. We were not given enough sheets and towels for all of us so some beds were not made up. We were given only 3 rolls of toilet paper for 7 toilets. The pool chairs were broken. These small things gave a negative first impression.

Nice house. Beach Realty no so nice.

Upon arrival the pool was green and hadn't been cleaned in several weeks. Management company said it wasn't an emergency and they'd get to it tomorrow. Pool was ok 3 days later but we never got to use it. Hot tub was also dirty and not cleaned for several weeks. They drained and cleaned it Saturday and we were able to use it. House was nice and comfortable but housekeeping was not very good. Beach Realty showed no concern. I would recommend the house but beware of Beach Realty management. Owners should look elsewhere for a management company that really looks out for them as the home is comfortable and roomy. Nothing was offered to us for the pool not being useable, which is what we asked for in the VRBO search Pool / Hot Tub Pet friendly. It is also listed as Oceanfront but there is no walkway from the house to the beach. it is one full house down.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself is beautiful and the location is awesome. The management is abysmal. The furniture is expensive but the mattresses are terrible. The sheets are cheap and scratchy, the pillows are low quality, and the customer service is poor. We arrived to find not a single roll of toilet paper in the house (much less soap or similar). It's sad that the small things, which are easy to improve, are ignored in a house with gorgeous furniture, an amazing view, and steps from the beach. The small pool is unheated. It was opened right before we arrived and supposedly serviced during our stay, but it looked gross/green the whole time. The house next door had the same pool, but theirs had clear blue water. The hot tub was nice. In spite of all the negatives, I would have gone back if the mattress hadn't been so bad.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the first time using Beach Realty to book OBX. The house layout and location were fine, with the exception of the showers. They are ridiculously small! Main complaint is with cleanliness. Floors were dirty, a bunk bed had wrappers and glow sticks in it, MBR shower had a dirty washcloth. Under deck area had toys strewn about, sand all over the walk, linens/towels blocking doorway. Pool furniture dirty. Dishwasher filled with greasy, dirty dishes. We cleaned these all ourselves. A window screen was repaired once and eventually fell onto my truck. Eight phone calls to have sofa bed sheets delivered that were not available on arrival. The rental cost too high for all these issues.

Outer Banks adventure

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and it was lovely. Our family of 11 had plenty of room in this home. Overall, would recommend this property. Pro: location (boardwalk to beach is one house over), beach not crowded, walking distance (.5-.7miles flat walk) to lots of shops, restaurants, rentals, and grocery store. If you wanted a one stop beach location this could be it. You could drive here and then walk for everything else you wanted to do. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Hot tub was great. Kitchen well supplied with pots and pans. Upper floor is great, huge dining table, wide open space for large family gatherings. Cons: no “beach closet” (most VRBO properties we’ve stayed in have a closet with beach toys, left over chairs and umbrellas, cooler etc… didn’t see that here) but we did leave our stuff behind so maybe the next person will enjoy it. Many baths had very small shower stalls with curtains that stick to your legs when showering, doors would be a nice upgrade. Very firm beds (could be a pro if you like that). Dunes have grown up to impede view from top balcony (totally understand that’s an ecological issue and can’t be fixed but the view is moderately disrupted because of it). Aged decor and design in the lower and mid levels. Need furniture replacement on the upper level, the couches are past their prime. Northerner location on OBX, good if you prefer more quiet. Traffic can be significant getting to the location.

Just okay

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros:big house right on the beachoversized decksprivate pool and hot tubdogs are allowedclose to restaurantsCons:Pool was dirty (had sand in the bottom of it) when we arrived, we should have reached out to the company but I thought maybe they would come a different day.There are cacti growing where the dogs are supposed to go to the bathroom, both myself and my dog stepped on them. I thought it was only one spot but I kept finding more.House is outdated, the showers are very tiny. Stains on the couch and the carpet. Bedding and pillows are old.I was expecting more for the price we paid.

Birthday Celebration

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I love the house it was dated but nice. However due to blood and urine stains on the mattress covers on the room with the bunk beds, it put a damper on my grandchildrens vacation. They were then afraid to sleep by themselves( 5y & 7y) We we called to alert the staff they were very attentive and sent someone over promptly to remove the bedding. Kudos to them on the fast response!!We did love the close access to the beach.

Very..Very...Very Disappointed

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A family vacation that had been in the works for months was deflated as soon as we arrived...the grounds were unkept...then upon entering the house beds were not fully made...floors unclean...carpet dirty...furniture that in the main area was filthy and had to put covers over them to be able to sit on them, bathrooms were not cleaned (mirrors look like they had been cleaned with ocean water white film smears funning down),shower stalls dirty, food/drink ??? on wall of main floor area bathroom, soap scum build up and mold stuck together on shower curtain in bathroom 2nd left from main entrance...several items broken including door locks to outside on botton floor and upper deck sliding glass door. Our family scrimped and saved to have this vacation!
