We had to chop firewood to stay warm all night and day. We were bitten by an unknown insect that is infested in the cedar in the front of the cabin.Theres no garbage pick up so we had to drive to the next city to drop off trash. Theres no grocery store with actual groceries available to purchase. Sierra no city.

1. At no point did anyone contact me during their entire month stay to let me know the heat was not working. How could I help them? We showed up 2 days after they checked out, realized the heat was not turning on, and only when I reached out to her to ask, she said it never worked. I called our repair shop and it was fixed by the end of the day. That's on them. 2. My description of the town and cabin is very detailed about the rural nature of the place and my information packet is full of tips regarding shopping and garbage pickup (there is no pickup and there is a free dump 3 mins from the house open 4 days a week.) I detail exact drive times to the various grocery options in the area and advise a big stock up before driving up to Sierra City. Obviously don't rent my cabin if you expect to have a major grocery store closeby. Nobody who comes to any town anywhere near Sierra City would ever expect that. Their group was up here for contract work with a utility and clearly didn't put a moment of research into where they were going to be living. 3. They did not read or follow my extremely detailed check out information that explains that we don't charge a cleaning fee because we expect people to leave things the way they found them. We arrived to a complete mess. They brought a dog without letting us know. We charge a small pet fee and they skipped out on that by keeping that information silent. We only found out because they left a bag of dog food shoved behind the stove. They left ash trays full of vape and weed paraphernalia which they clearly smoked in the house. They left the fridge full of tons of moldy food. They ruined the kitchen rug and left it outside in the weather to mildew. We usual rent through a different website that everyone is familiar with. Check our reviews there. We have people return year after year. I have never had such a negative experience renting our place.
