Idyllic

Super clean and lovely layout. Lots of nice extra touches; great linens, local coffee beans, even yoga mats if you please. Leigh was a good resource too for local hikes and such. Truly an A property.

Modern Cabin in Yosemite NP

This gem is a rare find inside the Yosemite National Park gates. Julianna and local host Katy were extremely attentive and responsive to any questions or needs we had. Julianna was passionate about Yosemite and eager to share information. The cabin was well stocked, it had everything a guest could need. The neighborhood was quiet. Approx 50 drive to the Valley and Glacier Point area sites; Mariposa Grove nearby. Would highly recommend this cabin for a great Yosemite trip!

Amazing in the park accomodations!

Perfect place for a family trip to Yosemite. Location inside the park means no wait at the ranger station. Cabin was clean, comfortable and well stocked with basic supplies. Our host Leigh was a great help with her advice and places to visit.

Fabulous house and location. Didn’t want to leave a good review as we might not be able to come back if it’s always booked!

This home is absolutely a 5 star. Upscale amenities, clean, and cozy. The floor to ceiling windows were an adventure by themselves. I highly recommend.

Beautiful Property

Beautiful property located in quaint Wawona. Impeccably clean, light, bright with all the modern amenities. So convenient to exploring Yosemite. Was perfect for outdoor exploring and coming home and making dinner in awesome modern kitchen. Played games and got to see Celtics win first playoff game on home’s big screen. Win win for all of us.

Wonderful cabin in Yosemite

My family and I stayed at this lovely cabin for three nights in June. The beautiful, recently built cabin is bright, clean and modern. We wanted a house within the park to avoid waiting in the long lines at the park entrances. We were a party of eight ranging in ages from 8-80. The tri-level cabin allowed plenty of space for us all to relax after a day of exploring the park. The cabin was thoughtfully designed with numerous amenities to make it a delightfully peaceful and relaxing escape in the park. There was a heat wave during our stay and we were thankful to have AC. The beautiful kitchen is well stocked with all the pans and dishes needed for big family meals. The cabin is closely situated to a few beautiful hiking trails in the Wawona area that are much less crowded than those in the valley. We will miss gazing out the floor-to-ceiling windows at the view of the forest or starry night sky. We wish we could have stayed longer and highly recommend the cabin for anyone visiting Yosemite.

About the host

Your host

Host profile image
Our family has owned this property since 1954. My parents loved the wilderness and were passionate about preservation of Yosemite and other national parks. They volunteered and led wildflower and birding walks all around Yosemite. In 2022 we constructed a new much larger cabin on the original property and added levels to take advantage of the sweeping views.

Why they chose this property

Wawona is a historic neighborhood within the Park, founded long before Yosemite National Park was established. It is a real community with wonderful swimming holes, trails to the high country, markets, gas station, a meadow walk full of wildflowers, library, summer horseback rides, near to Badger Pass skiing, Mariposa Grove, Glacier Point, Yosemite Valley and is one of two in-holdings, truly inside the Park,--so no waiting at the gates to come in and out of the Park each day.

What makes this property unique

The modern architecture and location allow for views from every room and level; many areas for connection; yet lots of privacy for families wanting to share. Radiant floor heating throughout affords a cozy and warm feeling in fall and winter. The design is exceptional for enjoying the tranquility of Yosemite year round.
