The Blue Heron Cabana with the fabulous Cantina is just that! A fun house for a group or family, sleeps 6 guests and has a great kitchen and bar. The back door opens to the canal for fishing or tying up your boat or jet skis. After a day in the sun, relax at the waters edge and toss a line in the canal or just enjoy your private cantina. There are so many fun things to do!!! Rockport has many great restaurants and other wonderful attractions like the Blue Wave Beach, Fish Aquarium, Education Center and Aquatics Center to name a few. So come on down for a wonderful vacation staying at our Cabana.
We look forward to having you vacation here,

This is where the fishing ROCKS right on the canal!
We came to Rockport around 1976 to look at a boat for sale. We bought the boat and spent every weekend we could fishing Estes Flats. We almost always caught fish and if we didn't, who cared, we were in Rockport. There was always something happening downtown, if not, we'd find a great restaurant (and there are many) to finish out the day and talk about the "big one" that got away.
We found ourselves hating to leave each Sunday and we'd usually spend every SUNDAY afternoon looking at houses and dreaming of one day calling Rockport home. Finally one day we found a little house that we thought was perfect for us. It was in pretty bad shape and just for grins we made an offer. Surprise, when we got home there was a message on our answering machine that our offer had been accepted. Bam, we were Rockport homeowners. What started as a weekend getaway soon became our permanent residence. We spent everyday working on this little house making it our little paradise.
Our final addition was the "kitchen" and "bar" area. We have so enjoyed cooking a big pot of Gumbo or shrimp creole as all our friends and family belly up to the bar and visit as the cooking show unravels. We all know somehow everyone usually ends up in the kitchen, so we decided to just let them start out there. Hope you enjoy cooking there, too, but you don't have to, cause the bar stools fit real well for "to go" orders. HA!
We loved the house, it was very clean and well equipped. The deck was awesome! We actually tied off and floated in the canal right from tge deck! Very relaxing!
This was our fifth winter at this property. The kitchen with the island is wonderful. Great stainless steel appliances and a nice gas top to prepare meals along with a wall oven. There are lots of windows in the back so you can look out at the canal and even sometimes see dolphins. There are great dusk to dawn lights in the back which makes it nice if you want to fish at night. The property is neat and clean. The property manager is very responsive if anything might need attention. We are looking forward to spending next winter at this property again.
We were so excited to come to Rock Port to honor my son's memory. Your place was perfect, comforting to my entire family. As for returning I'm sure we will be back. Some the family members left you notice of coming back during the holidays. Thanks again it was a visit to remember.
If you are looking for a relaxing good time, this home is the ideal place to stay! This was our second visit to the home on Labor Day weekend...we stayed three weeks prior to that, my husband and I,and two other couples (sisters and brothers-in-law) and returned this time with our adult children and grandsons. The house was spectacular and the kitchen was just as nice as the photos depict it! The kitchen comes with just about everything you need, and everything was easy to find. Our children enjoyed fishing and showing our grandkids how fun it can be! It was nice to just walk out the back door, and we could sit on the deck and fish all night long! The subdivision was nice and peaceful, plenty of parking space for guests, close to shopping for groceries at H.E.B and anything you needed at Walmart to complete your stay. The bedroms in the house were very comfortable and clean, and if extra blankets, pillows, towels etc, were needed, they were available in the closets. We really enjoyed the convenience the home offered, and the manager, was exremely helpful and easily available through email if we had questions prior to our arrival as well. She made the process to rent, an easy task. Thank you Stephani! We plan to return to the home on our next stay in Rockport, so we hope it will be available when we make plans to return. You will be glad you stayed here, just as our family was!
We had a great time at the Blue Heron Cabana! And the house was just as described...the kitchen and bar were huge and well stocked with kitchen stuff. The fridge and freezer were amazingly huge! The beds and furniture were comfortable, the canal location was perfect for our stay. The house was clean and pretty well maintained. This house in not on stilts, which is common in the area so it is great for older people who don't like to climb stairs, and people with young children who might not want to cart them up and down stairs. The managers were great! We actually lived in Rockport for 7 year in the early 90's so we got to visit all our favorite places all over again. HuDat in Fulton is our favorite restaurant! Rockport Beach was beautiful and perfect for our 2 year old granddaughter. We will definitely stay here again next summer.
Our stay was very very plesant. The only isssue that I had was that upon arrival the floors in the house were very sticky. I don't know if it was from the cleaning solution that was used to mop the floors or what, but they were sticky, and made the floors look real nasty. Otherwise there was plenty of essentials that were needed and the house was in tip top shape, and everything worked as is should have. Someone had dumped a very friendly dog off our 2nd night there, he stayed around for about 3 days, fortunately a couple of my friends decided to take him home with them, cause I had called animal control, and I did NOT want this animal put down..
