What makes this bungalow unique

We love our time in Oak Island. The beaches are beautiful and not over crowded. We have no problem taking our dog Chase out on the beach with us.

We love the fact that we can boat over to Bald Head Island for lunch or if we are feeling ambitious we can ride all the way down to Myrtle Beach in less than 2hrs.

True beach cottage!

  • 4 of 5

My teens and I love a cute beach cottage and this place delivered! Charming decorations match the "Fishing Fool" theme, quiet, and cozy. Coffee on the screened in porch was a perfect way to start the day on this quiet street. Nice flat area to get in an early morning run and close enough to drive to the beach for a quiet morning walk. Outdoor shower and hammock were a major plus. Adequate kitchen for making dinner - we cooked grouper from Haag's Seafood one night, went "crab dipping" and steamed crabs another. Outdoor grill was perfect for our family of four. Only change we would suggest is to update the living room furniture. Would definitely rent again...thanks, Allen!

great location and cozy house

  • 5 of 5

Allen, thanks for a great place to stay for my week long vacation. I brought my two dogs who enjoyed taking walks in the quiet neighborhood and trips to the beach. It was a short drive in my car -parking was no problem. Beach is beautiful and dog friendly. Your house was clean and cozy. Loved your beach decorations and of course the outside shower. Will plan to stay with you again next year. Lisa Johnson

Cute and Cozy Intracoastal Bungalow

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful visit to Oak Island and enjoyed the bungalow, which was just right for our party of 4+1 furry friend. Just a few houses off the Intracoastal waterway and located on a nice-size shady lot, the house was "as described." I would recommend bringing bikes to explore the West end of the island; plenty of sidewalks and pedestrian/bike routes to be found. Walking tour of Historic Southport was also enjoyable followed by lunch at Fishy Fishy on Southport's waterfront, which allows dog family members to dine with you on their covered deck outfitted with cooling fans (they even provide water bowls for each of their four-legged guests :) Our last night we ordered take-out from The Barbeque Place and picnicked at an outdoor park area overlooking the Intracoastal not far from the house on Yacht Drive, just on the other side of the Middleton Bridge overpass. The Barbeque (and Sunset) were amazing!. FYI: If you plan to picnic on the Intracoastal during summer months, be sure to bring bug repellent. All in all I would say the windswept beaches and boogy board-worth waves were the big hit with our tweenagers, as well as multiple rounds of mini golf and Dairy Queen ice cream cones at the east end of the island. Thanks Allen for making our trip easy breezy. We hope to return next summer :)

Wonderful week!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this adorable little house in July. Couldn't have been more perfect for us. Close to the beach and far enough away from all the beach "commotion" to be restful. Kitchen had everything you could want for cooking, cleaning and laundry, not that we did much of that! Took long walks with our pups and the neighborhood was very peaceful. We are looking forward to going back again!
