Charming Mountain Home: Views, Luxury, & Convenience!

Escape to our modern Smoky Mountains cabin retreat, where every detail is designed for your comfort and enjoyment. Nestled in Haywood County, home to half of the peaks over 6,000 feet east of the Rockies, this cabin offers an unparalleled mountain experience.

Year-Round Accessibility:
Thanks to its proximity to the Cataloochee Ski Area, the road to our cabin is well-maintained throughout the winter, ensuring easy access no matter the season. No 4x4/AWD needed here. Yaay!

Green, Modern, and Luxurious:
Our cabin boasts an environmentally-conscious passive solar design, meticulously crafted to maximize energy efficiency. The strategic placement of expansive windows and roof overhangs not only frames those breathtaking mountain vistas but also serves as a cornerstone of our eco-friendly approach. These intelligently designed windows harness the sun's natural heat, allowing us to minimize our carbon footprint while keeping you snug and warm.

Additionally, the heated concrete floors are more than just stylish; they are an integral part of our energy-efficient system. The thermal mass of these floors efficiently stores and redistributes heat overnight, ensuring that you stay cozy throughout your stay. This not only adds a touch of luxury to your experience but also minimizes the need for excessive heating, contributing to our commitment to sustainable living.

Step out of your king-sized bed and onto the brazilian teak deck. This thoughtfully designed outdoor area not only offers ample space but also seamlessly connects you with the breathtaking natural surroundings. It provides an ideal platform for morning yoga while admiring the serene beauty of the Plott Balsam mountains, with picturesque vistas of the Browning Knob (6243ft) and the Mt. Lyn Lowry Memorial Cross (6240ft). Adventurous souls can even embark on a challenging hike along the ridge line from Waterrock Knob for an unforgettable experience amidst nature's grandeur. Allow the cool valley breeze to envelop you, providing a natural and refreshing respite from the day's activities. Meanwhile, the nearby rushing creek creates a constant, soothing auditory backdrop, fostering a sense of tranquility and connection with nature.

On the opposite side of the cabin, you'll discover an outdoor kitchen and living area that adds both functionality and charm to your stay. Equipped with a hibachi grill and a fireplace, this space encourages you to indulge in al fresco dining and relaxation. As evening falls, the outdoor fireplace becomes the focal point, providing not only warmth but also a cozy ambiance for your gatherings under the starry mountain sky.

This outdoor oasis offers the perfect setting for every part of your day, from leisurely mornings to enchanting evenings, all in the midst of nature's grandeur.

The lower yard area is home to magical evening bonfires, great mountain views and S'mores parties.

Winter fun:
During winter, the landscape often becomes a serene snow-covered paradise. For winter sport enthusiasts, the nearby Cataloochee Ski Area offers an exhilarating skiing and snowboarding experience suitable for all skill levels. Thanks to its cutting-edge snowmaking technology, you can expect excellent conditions throughout the season, ensuring endless fun on the slopes.

After an action-packed day of winter adventures, the warmth and comfort of your MV Haus awaits. Warm up by the see-through, wood-burning fireplace, where the crackling flames create the perfect ambiance for relaxation. This special fireplace is a remarkable creation from the esteemed Canadian company Supreme, a true testament to the art of fireplace craftsmanship. Being one of the only two EPA certified models of its kind, its environmental consciousness ensures an eco-friendly burn, making it the epitome of both style and responsible heating. As you unwind, you'll be bathed in the gentle winter sun streaming through the impressive 10-foot high windows, infusing the home with a comforting warmth that invites you to linger and savor the moment.

During winter mornings you may notice and find yourself falling in love with the warmth of radiant heated concrete floors, a luxurious feature that brings an extra layer of coziness to your stay. With every step, you'll appreciate the toasty comfort underfoot, making you wonder how you ever lived without it. Winter in Maggie Valley is a time of pure joy, adventure, and relaxation, all wrapped in the enchanting beauty of the season. Come and experience it for yourself at MV Haus!

Entertainment Galore:
Transform our living room into a private movie theater with a state-of-the-art sound system, projector, and a massive 15-foot screen. Movie nights here are unforgettable.

Nature's Playground:
Our cabin sits within an enchanting old apple orchard, often attracting the local elk residents. Just minutes away, you'll find high-altitude hiking trails offering spectacular views and cool summer temperatures. In the fall, witness the region's most captivating leaf color change.

Top tier vacation home
If you like what you see in the pictures, you’ll love this place. A beautiful, well thought out home In a really scenic neck of the woods. Luc really nails the practicals as well as the intangibles, and his pride in ownership and management shines through. We treated this as a launchpad to the National Park, a day in Asheville, and a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, but were always eager to retire early to the MV Haus and get a fire going. Yes, we used all 3 fire places. Slept like babies in very comfortable beds and made good use of the (indoor) kitchen. Eager to return one day and give the outside kitchen a whirl. Thanks Luc. Maybe I could hit you up for advice one day if we ever get around to building our own vacation dream home.

Beautiful Modern Mountain Stay
New property, very clean, great location, convenient access, feels secluded, and long range view of the Fall foliage. We stayed on a full moon so got the unique experience at night of the back-glow of the mountain ridge line along with light up of the house and the extensive landscape lighting - it was majestic! Nice to have three locations to have a fire going - small inside, patio fireplace, and below in yard a large fire pit.
