My home is my pride and joy and will be yours as well. This house sleeps 6 people comfortably with 2 bedrooms , 1 full bathroom and 1 half bathroom. There's 2 additional bedrooms upstairs that can be added on the rental but not on the listing. The kitchen table seats 6 plus guest in our huge 1950's style diner kitchen. A uniquely decorated living room to relax in so everyone has space. What makes the house different from other vacation is its decor and fun colorful vibe. Just 7 miles ( 10 minutes ) from hunter mountain ski area, 25 minutes to windham ski area and 5 minutes from new york states #1 state park, North South Lake , for swimming and boating. New York States highest waterfall (280 ft) is just minutes away. Washer dryer, wifi and big screen satellite tv, fire pit, backyard sledding hill and more. The property was built in the 1890's and has gone through so many incarnations and was last run as the mountain bike inn . Absolutely the best place for your family reunion, bachelor-bachelorette parties, or the incredible couples getaway ! Needless to say there is some of the east coast best mountainbiking right out the door. If road riding is more your pleasure , you will enjoy uncongested country roads with miles of climbing and decending. The area sports some of the best hiking the catskills has to offer as well. For whatever reason you are visiting the area, my home will be a place you will want to come back to time and time again. You must be 25 years old in order to rent this property. We are dog friendly but please let us know upfront as to how many dogs and breed. Additional cleaning charges may apply with bookings with dogs.

A great place for friends and family get together

9 of my high schools friends (and family) stayed at Ernie's place and had a great time. The location, rooms, kitchen, outdoor grilling/eating area were all perfect for our needs. We look forward to returning next year.

Great Spot for a Group!

Huge home with lots of quirky charm. Ernie was so great to work with and knowledgeable about the history of the home and area. Kids had a blast skiing and playing in the snow in the yard. Great place for a big group :)

Perfect location

This place is in a great location and is bursting with personality. It easily accommodated 10 adults and 4 kids with plenty of beds to spare. The kids loved the game room, the adults loved the bar, and we all loved the fire pit! And best of all, the house is super close to Kaaterskill Falls, North-South Lake Campground, and Hunter Mountain.

Family Reunion

Very cool property with plenty of room, plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms. Everything except food was supplied, propane, firewood for fire pit, paper products and very clean. Ernie was an extremely responsive host and all 20+ of us would all stay again!!

We stayed for our family after-christmas celebration. The property was perfect for us! Plenty of rooms, stocked with games and plenty of TV/couch space. Plenty of parking. Wedding Vows at a Charming house

My wife and I chose this house of character and charm to renew our wedding vows. Ernie is an excellent host. Responded to our pre-planning needs and set up. Big enough house to party inside and outside. Fit for all ages as the kids had an adventurous hide and go seek among the many rooms. The property is only a short drive to town where there are markets and restaurants. We will hopefully visit during summer.

Great Weekend with Large Group

We had a group of 18 stay for a ski weekend back in January, and the house was perfect. I would definitely recommend to a large group. Most of the bedrooms have a private bathroom, so it is also great for groups of couples. The house is huge and it never felt like we were all on top of each other. There are multiple living rooms, bathrooms, and a large kitchen. Ernie is great to work with, he was accommodating and friendly and available for any questions or problems you might have. Loved this house!

Awesome time over July 4 weekend.

First off, Ernie and Felicia are a pleasure to deal with. We were a group of 16 , consisting of couples, singles, and even a 6 week old baby. This house with it's numerous bedrooms, bathrooms,and large living and dining areas afforded everyone to feel close ,but not too close. The house is in immaculate condition and is clearly loved. No need to strip the beds. Ernie and Felicia gotchya covered!

Beautiful Huge house

We were 15 people and everyone enjoyed this Huge house, enough room for kids and adults. Hunter mountain just 10 minutes away, which was very convenient. Owners supplied us with everything we needed in the house,. The only problem that we had was: last night it was very cold in the house, the towels we not fresh and the bedding sheets are 100 polyester. I'm sure the owners will easily take care of these little issues and make it perfect for future costumers. Anyway thanks for great vacation Ernie!

Thanksgiving 2017 Family Time

Just stayed here for three nights to enjoy the Thanksgiving weekend with family. There were eighteen of us all together. Ages ranged from 4 to 71. The house is very large....rooms for everyone to spread out in. The house is old and full of character. We were all impressed by the cleanliness and comfort. Ernie, the owner, lives on property and couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. He answers all correspondence in a most timely manner. Perfect for Catskill Mt Reunion of 16 ppl. Beyond expectations.

Thank you Ernie for hosting us in this beautiful house in a perfect location. We have kids from 3 yo to over 15, and everyone can find a place to rest, chill, and have fun. The numerous showers and bathrooms make this former inn really unique and perfect for groups like us. We cooked everyday in the kitchen and out on the grills and it never felt cramped. Loved that there are seating for more than 16 ppl either in the dining room or out on the court yard. Ernie is quick in communication and is only minutes away to bring in supplies. Ernie is also a great local resource. We followed his tips and had a great time at local swimming holes and waterfalls that are otherwise not well advertised on the trail map websites. The house is surprisingly close to everything - the hiking trails, lakes, grocery stores are all within 15 minutes drive. There is a ATV rental literally across the street that was a lot of fun.

The perfect place for a big group

Our band was doing a weekend at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock and the Hotel prices were CRAAAAZY so I started trying to find another option. I couldn't believe I found a place so big, but as the listing states, you have to see it to believe it! It was PERFECT for us. Pretty much every person had a bedroom with a private bathroom, and those who didn't just had to share a bathroom with one other person. The giant kitchen was perfect for big "family" meals and there are 4 living rooms so everyone could also get some leave-me-alone time! Best of all the game room - I haven't played so much ping pong in years! Ernie the owner is a fantastic guy who loves the place and its history too. If you're looking for fancy woodstock, this aint it, but if you're trying to roll with a crew, be comfortable, and have a lot of fun together, this is PERFECT.

Amazing Hunter Retreat

We had a large group of multiple families stay at Ernie's fabulous house. Plenty of space for everyone with multiple rooms and amenities to make the whole off skiing time even more enjoyable ~ loads of extra touches ~ ping pong, air hockey and even the karaoke machine which we swore we would not use but became the centerpiece for our evening entertainment. There are books, blankets and seating areas galore~ games for all ages and various curiosity pieces decorating the house which you find yourself wandering about just so you don't miss any of the details. While the house is large and historical we found it exceptionally clean, warm and cozy. Ernie is a wonderful host, readily responds to questions and is very conscientious~ we loved hearing about the story of the house through the 20th century and various owners and we could have asked him questions all night, but he is very respectful of your privacy. This is one of those finds on VRBO when you really do hope you can come back~ the setting facilitated the amazing time we all had.

Property with Character

We had a great experience at this property. We were a very large group, 6 families, 12 adults and 17 kids. This house was able to accommodate us easily. Think it literally came down to using every last bed but still felt very roomy. We didn’t even have to use any of the multitude of couches. We had an age range of kids from 5 to 20. The house was great for sharing with all these people as it contained multiple living rooms and shared spaces, 2 TV rooms, another living room with bar area and also a game room. We never felt like the kids were on top of us as they had plenty of room to play away from the parents. The house is over 100 years old so it has a lot of history and character. It was really a unique accommodation and we loved it. It has a spot for a fire pit in the yard that we took advantage of one night and plenty of parking. I would fully recommend this house for a big group rental. Ernie the owner is a Hunter Mountain native and was always available to answer questions and help us with anything we needed which wasn’t much.

Great place for multiple families with teenagers

We had a few families with total 25 people staying in the property. Two goals of our trip: 1. find a place (as opposed to regular hotel rooms) to accommodate this many people for a couple of nights to create opportunities of knowing one another better. 2. Close to Hunter Mountain so that teens can ski. I am pleased to say that both goals have been achieved nicely. A few highlights about this place: 1. Game room: teens love it! They played ping-pong and air hockey when they were not skiing. Excellent feature to have when you have a group of teenagers. 2. Dining room and kitchen: the setup is perfect for a group of people to dine together. 3. Multiple living rooms for chatting or other activities such as karaoke (you need to bring your own karaoke machine). The price is quite reasonable and the location is good : it is 10 minutes drive to Hunter Mountain, 5 minutes to Kaaterskill Falls trail, and 5 minutes to downtown of Tannersville to get groceries and etc. Highly recommended! Quirky, playful, a little weird... but room for everyone

We had a cousins weekend with humans of all ages. The little kids loved this house. Toys, games, lots of things to look at and corners to hide in. Ping pong and air hockey were fun. They cried when we had to leave. The bedroom layout was great. Room for everyone. En suite bathrooms made life much easier. Beds pretty comfy. The bedrooms smelled a little weird. Chipped walls and peeling wallpaper. But you can tell the place is loved and cared for. The floors and rooms in general were immaculately cleaned. We had a crawling baby and had no worries letting her scoot around. Ernie came to visit. He was super friendly and responsive. He brought us propane so we could cook burgers on the grill and replaced smoke detector batteries in a snap. Really nice person. Our last night there, we watched the MTV reality show that featured the house. We took shots every time someone hooked up in our bedrooms, every time the guy from Hoboken said something cringy, etc... It was really funny. Highly recommend.

I grew up in the area and have always loved what it offered recreationally. Skiing and riding my bike as a kid was put on hold in the 80's and 90's as I indulged in the famous Hunter Mountain bar scene. I rediscovered the beauty of the surroundings in 1992 as the mountain bike scene came on. I have been riding the area for 22 plus years and ran the property as The Mountain Bike Inn for 8 years. Years of hard work has brought the property to what it is know. A very cool place with a unique décor and awaiting you to enjoy.

This house has recently been decorated by professional Hollywood set designers, you simply will overjoyed with the ambiance. The 50's diner style kitchen allows all guest people to sit and eat together which few if any other properties can. Each bedroom has a full private bathroom which allows more privacy and convenience. Three full separate living rooms , one of which is a huge game room allow everyone to relax in different spaces and settings.
