Downtown St. Petersburg is a vibrant waterfront city with a lot to offer for all ages! This is a perfect location for people who want a large choice of activities all within walking distance of their accommodations. There is 7 miles of waterfront parks, a small sandy white beach, a few playgrounds and a Marina, perfect for walking, biking, jogging, lounging, boating, kayaking and dolphin watching. You can rent a boat or kayak at the Vinoy Yacht Basin. You will also find many concerts and festivals during the year throughout the waterfront parks.
A short walk to downtown, or catch the Downtown Looper Trolley at the historic Renaissance Vinoy Hotel, and enjoy an array of fun including shopping, dining and nightlife. Shopping is very diverse, appealing to varying tastes, from specialty shops on trendy Beach Drive to eclectic vintage and antique shops on Central Ave. in the Grand Central District. Restaurants are just as diverse offering upscale and outside patio dining on Beach Dr., with a European feel, to innovative cafes, also including patio dining, along Central Ave. and throughout the city. Nightlife includes live music & concerts, swanky lounges & posh nightclubs, plus a large selection of pubs specializing in craft beers. Or enjoy sitting in one of the many espresso and chocolate bars. There’s also a large farmer's market, Tropicana Field (home of the Ray's Major League Baseball Team), live performances at Mahaffey Theatre, movies (19 plus IMAX), museums and art galleries including the Salvador Dali Museum, the Chihuly Collection and the Museum of Fine Arts, just to name a few. Also within walking distance is the North Shore Aquatic Complex and tennis courts. A public golf course is 4 miles away or choose the private Vinoy Golf Course up the street. Segway rentals and horse drawn carriages are other fun options to explore this amazing city!
There’s always something happening in downtown St. Pete. All year long, St. Petersburg hosts hundreds of events in its' downtown facilities and waterfront parks, ranging from food festivals to street concerts and art festivals to the action packed Firestone Grand Prix. Gulf Beaches are a short drive or Trolley ride away, including top rated in the U.S, 600-acre Fort DeSoto Park. Bush Gardens and Adventure Island are about 40 minutes and Disney World is less than an hour and a half away.

About the host
Hosted by Jennifer & Brian
Hi! We've lived in Florida for the past 22 years having moved here from Newport, RI. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Affairs. I've worked in Real Estate, Social Services and Staffing/Recruiting. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, reading, cooking and going to the beach! My husband, Brian, is a Mechanical Engineer. He graduated from the University of South Florida. He enjoys bike riding, boating, ping pong, all things related to cars & working on his inventions!
Why they chose this property
My husband and I bought this property because we love the 'old world' charm of the neighborhood with its' brick streets and architecture. The neighborhood is filled with Craftsman style homes as well as Tudors, Mediterranean Revivals, Colonials, American Four Squares and others. We love that we can walk to our favorite restaurants, shops and entertainment! This neighborhood is like a New England town with Palm Trees but without the cold weather!
What makes this property unique
This is a single level cottage so there won't be any stairs to navigate except 2 steps onto the front porch. There is a private parking spot behind the cottage. It has central AC/Heat (no window shakers)! Easy walk to downtown and the waterfront with it's own small beach! You'll also enjoy a private washer/dryer right in the cottage. A horse drawn carriage can pick you up right at the cottage door (a unique benefit to this neighborhood) and tour you around the neighborhood and/or take you downtown and drop you off at dinner! So fun!
