Wife and I stayed for a week. The property was clean and the front yard was great. Our dogs loved running around down there. Being riverside was amazing. Very tranquil. The side yard is a bit overgrown, so we didn't use it all that much, the outdoor furniture smelled very musty, and there was a slight smell to the hot water which is why we decided to take one star off.
We were in the area to see if we could live there. Fleetwood was a little far out of the way for us.
Overall we had a great time!
Our family of 4 plus 2 grandparents and our small dog stayed here for a few days. Brenda the owner met us upon our arrival and explained everything we would need to know. It was just the right size for what we were looking for. The setting, scenery and views were wonderful. We enjoyed visiting West Jefferson, Boone and Blowing Rock. The kids and dog loved the big green field below the cabin for playing. Would stay here again.
We were in the area for a family wedding. The location was good for that and pretty convenient to the town of West Jefferson. It's a nice cabin but a first for me to stay in this type meaning it's like staying in someone's home surrounded by their personal belongings. I can see the nice cabin but there is too much furniture and cluttered with stuff.
The owner seemed sweet, she went over ahead of us and had the gas logs going, super easy to deal with, we had everything we needed. King bed was comfortable. I was told by family members the queen was not, and the upstairs shower has no water pressure. All in all it was a good trip just a few suggestions to make some changes to reduce furniture and clutter.
Our family loved the house and the property. The setting is beautiful and the house had everything we needed. Communication was great, including an initial tour of the home with our host upon arrival.
Very beautiful and a lot of fun! We really enjoyed the house and the property. Our hosts were very wonderful and pleasant, and made the whole experience memorable. The only downside to this property was the water, the water smelled like sulfur. It was a bit hard to cook with the water. That being said, absolutely beautiful, and we definitely will be returning!

Clean! Secluded! Very comfortable.
Great cabin! It's very clean. It is secluded. Beautiful view of the river. The yard is huge and flat. We are excited about going back in the spring just to spend a few days fishing. It's an hour from Jonas Ridge tube park. 20 minutes to West Jefferson. An hour to Banner Elk. I would definitely recommend this place for a family get away.

Checking in and out was easy and straight forward. Peaceful, also convenient to W. Jefferson & Boone
We truly enjoyed this cabin. It has everything you need to have a great trip. They gathered a pile of brush down by the river that we burned and made s’mores. The sound of the river is quite relaxing. The porch has ample seating for large families. It’s a great location being 40 mins or less from Blowing Rock, Boone, and West Jefferson. There were plenty of dishes, silverware, and appliances to enjoy cooking at the cabin. The grill was serviceable but needed a wire brush to clean the grate. All and all I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Ok
The house was clean, comfortable and the decor had a nice cabin flair to it. The beds were also comfy. However, the water smelled like rotten eggs and we were afraid to drink it. Also, we could not step outside the house without stepping in dog poop, it was everywhere, on the driveway and yard surrounding the house. The field in front of the house on the river seemed to be safe and somewhat free of poop, which we were thankful for.

Beautiful quiet property
We had a great time! Really enjoyed the house and the property. The house is nicely appointed with everything we needed. Nice cooking utensils and fairly updated appliances. River and Christmas tree farm views were wonderful. Our son very much enjoyed canoeing down the river in front of the house. The lower yard was nice for playing ball and enjoying the fire pit. Location in general was great. It is very private and relaxing.

Very cute cabin in a peaceful location. Great homey feel
If you're looking for peace and quiet this is a great cabin. The view is beautiful, right on the river and across from a large pumpkin patch. My only complaint is tbe bed in tbe master was very uncomfortable, it was saggy and lumpy and woke up with a backache.

Floating at Sir Isaacs' Cabin
We had such a great time at this property! After a 3 hour tube float down we spent another two hours sitting in lawn chairs in the river. It was perfect and the house had everything we needed. To top it off, we ended the night with a fantastic meteor shower viewed from the front porch. We plan to rent this home again!

Great location by the New River
This home had a wonderful wrap around porch for everyone to enjoy. It was right on the river, so it was great for putting in a tube up the river and floating down to the house! Nice bathrooms, space and room for a family to spread out. Brenda welcomed us and was very helpful. We loved out time there!

Restful break from the hectic holiday season.
My family and I enjoyed this place away from home. One day was rainy but the seven of us were able to spread out since the living room area is separate from the dining room. A group could play cards and enjoy games while others could view videos or read books. The river out front was very peaceful, even enticing my son to sleep on the porch for "the best rest ever". Hiking at Grandfather/Table Top/Hawksbill was over a hour away while Mount Jefferson was a 20 minute ride with good views and an easy walk, even though the guide says strenuous.
Everything in the cabin was neat and well maintained.

We had a great mini vacation and celebrated the New Year!
My family and I had a great stay here. We appreciate the hospitality from the family who owns the cabin. It is a beautiful cabin beside the river. We spent one day in Boone and one day in West Jefferson. The cabin is conveniently located between the two. We had a wonderful time!

Nice cabin, small
We enjoyed our weekend at the cabin, especially the proximity to the river. While the cabin was nice, it was smaller than we had imagined. The description says that it fits 8 people, but it does not tell you there is an extra charge for more than 6. We paid $50 a night more for two extra people. The best was the wrap around porch that was a beautiful place to relax with the whole group.

I submitted this response to the review on VRBO but it has not been added to the review. I would appreciate your adding it as soon as possible.
Regarding our rates, when guests click on the "Rates" section we clearly state that $175 applies to 6 guests and that an additional $25 is charged per guest (up to 2 additional guests). Also, when you correctly enter the number of guests that will be coming, such as 4 adults 4 children, the web site will automatically compute the charges. The rates section also shows a $100 pet fee if you wish to bring a pet. In this situation, the guests brought two dogs. I can understand how the house may have seemed small when you put 8 people and two dogs in it.

Wonderful Cabin and trip!
A great cozy cabin. Loved the sectional couch and fireplace. We stayed after Christmas and through New Years. There were 6 of us. Very comfortable home. The owners were wonderful and very accommodating! We spent one day in shopping in Boone, hiked a few trails off of the blue ridge parkway and visited the Cheese factory in West Jefferson. We especially loved the hike along the river behind the cabin. A great relaxing 5 day vacation trip that wouldn't have been possible without this beautiful cabin! Can't wait to go back and tube the river!

A beautiful mountain getaway
Even more beautiful setting than the photo. House interior was great, comfortable. Fishing and wading and tubing in the river, BBQ on the lawn.... can't wait to get back there,
