Why Rocco Tomassini chose Paris Arr. 1 (Louvre, Palais Royale)

Great stay in the middle of all the action

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd VRBO booking ever, so we were a little anxious even though the online reviews and the apartment reviews looked great. We shouldn't have been so worried. The apartment is right next to Chatalet-Les Halles metro station, and in between the Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral on the right bank of Seine. Rocco met us at the apartment to hand over the keys and provide a tour of the apartment, and the apartment looked just like the pictures on VRBO. We were 2 adults and 2 kids, and the bedroom, the sofa bed and the two bathrooms were quite adequate for us. The kitchen was well-stocked, and there were quite a few eateries and bakeries nearby (including an all-vegetarian restaurant called Saveurs Veget'halles right across the streets). And it was within walking distance to many of the attractions, including the Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral. Absolutely loved it, and wouldn't mind staying there again.

Beautiful apartment in the heart of Paris!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment exceeded expectations. Bright and breezy with the many big windows. Walking distance to the Louve and Notra Dame (and the Eiffel tower if you are up for a longer 4-5 K walk). Right by a handy metro station that took us to the Charles De Gaulle airport upon departure. Tons of great cafes, restaurants and shopping around. Its busy and loud until the bars and cafes shut down but it was exactly the environment I was seeking. I'd highly recommend the place and would stay there again.

Bring ear plugs

  • 3 of 5

Apartment is very nicely appointed and in a central close location. Wine, milk, juice, coffee, tea, sugar were all provided. Excellent wifi. However, the city is building a major metro/train station right outside the apartment. We endured 4 of 5 days of heavy machinery, jackhammers, and drills day and night. Work started at 7am and lasted 12 hours and then a crew change for the night shift. There are about 5 restaurants surrounding the building that are popular hang outs and loud talking can be heard past midnight. I would put in my earplugs which helped me get to sleep. IF there had not been all this LOUD noise I would have rated this a 5. You are forewarned.

Perfect Parisian Apartment

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is perfect in so many ways! It is beautifully furnished, with huge windows--so much light! The kitchen is well equipped, and having 2 bathrooms is a plus. It was spacious, incredibly clean, and so comfortable. The location can not be beat- close to transportation and an easy walk to so many sights and restaurants- I don't think I would stay anywhere else when in Paris. It was great to have an elevator in the building and Rocco was a pleasure to work with. Be aware that there is a lot of construction going on right next door. This is not an issue if you are out all day as we were. I could have stayed in this apartment forever!

A big, charming apartment with a great location for touring Paris

  • 5 of 5

My family spent a great weekend at Rocco's place. It was our first time using VRBO and Rocco made it easy; he was flexible about our arrival time and was there to let us in and explain everything when we arrived. It was my kids' first time in Paris and the location was perfect for people aiming to see the classic sights: an easy walk to the Louvre, the Pompidou, and Notre Dame, and the subway at Les Halles is just steps away. And the market shops of the Rue Montorgeuil are a 10-minute walk at most; in the morning you can stock up with fresh bread and cheese and have a great breakfast with a view of the city. (And if you don't want to walk even 10 minutes the boulangerie right across the street is good too.)

Staying with our kids, it was a nice luxury to have two bathrooms. The pull-out couch was comfortable and plenty big enough for our 11-year-old and 6-year-old, and there's a nice partition you can pull shut so whoever's sleeping on the couch doesn't get woken up by whoever's moving around the apartment. Small but functional kitchen, and Rocco is kind enough to leave bottled water, crackers, and jam for his guests. Everything was in perfect working order.

If I have any small warning it's that there's a bit of noise at night -- probably unavoidable in such a central location! I could hear people talking on the street and recorded announcements from the train station until pretty late. But I'm a light sleeper and I'm the only one who noticed; it didn't bother my wife and kids at all.
