Welcome to Little Bear, a charming two-bedroom, one-bathroom, dog-friendly vacation rental cabin in the heart of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This cabin is located near the historic downtown Gatlinburg area, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Ober Mountain Resort. Tucked away in serene surroundings, this private home offers beautiful scenery.

Step inside to discover a haven of comfort and privacy. The open-concept living area seamlessly connects to the fully-equipped kitchen, fostering a sense of togetherness and convenience for socializing and cooking. Both bedrooms, one king and one queen, are easily accessed from the main living area, with each offering an individual TV with Roku device and luxury linens. One bathroom serves both bedrooms.

Venture outside onto the expansive deck, where breathtaking vistas of the Smoky Mountains await. This space provides a convenient location for sipping your morning coffee, offering the perfect vantage point to soak in nature's splendor. Take advantage of the large soaking hot tub after a long day of exploring all that Gatlinburg has to offer, and dine al fresco at the outdoor picnic table.

Guests of this Gatlinburg cabin rental have access to three clubhouses, the closest to Little Bear being the North Clubhouse, which has three swimming pools, lighted tennis courts, a paved walking trail, ping pong, foosball, and assorted yard games.

This is the third time we’ve stayed at Little Bear. They’ve continued to upgrade the cabin and it looks great! We love the seclusion and location, as it’s close to the welcome center and we can take advantage of the Gatlinburg trolley. My only suggestion would be to add blinds into the main bedroom. The sun comes up on that side of the house and it’s very bright. The curtains do not fully cover the windows. So no sleeping in. We did experience all seasons in our 4 day stay.

Great property with scenic view

This was a wonderful stay for our family with dogs. We will definitely be back to this same cabin.

Wonderful cabin! Clean. All the amenities. Mountain Laurel really thinks of everything. TP, paper towels, laundry soap, dryer sheets, bathroom kit, etc. we would definitely rent again.

Great stay. Only had two issues. First was hot tub was broken when we arrived. Also the yard was not mowed and had very tall weeds.

Great Stay

The cabin was great. Perfect size for me and hubby. 2 bed, 1 bath with large living room, stackable laundry, and a wonderful covered deck with a cozy hot tub. A bit dated but a perfect location with full sized kitchen and large living room. We had plenty of towels and water pressure was good. We had a bear come right up to the cabin the first day. The folks at Mt Laurel Chalets and Xplorie were excellent- very friendly and helpful. Will definitely use them also .

Second Stay

The location of the cabin is excellent. It has great views and is just up the mountain from the G’burg Welcome Center, where we took advantage of the free trolley into town. We saw bears on 3 different occasions. Nice cabin with all the basics. The bathroom is very recently updated and a couple walls had fresh paint. I would recommend replacing the curtains in the Master with blackouts, as the morning sun shines right into the bed. Love the management company and Xplorie. We took advantage of a free ticket to the Titanic which we both enjoyed

It is located at the top of the mountain above where the Gatlinburg welcome center is. It is one of the few cabins that escaped the fire on the Wiley-Oakley side. Cabin was very clean with a great fireplace. Furniture was new and comfortable. The kitchen was older but the appliances worked very well.

I would recommend a 4 wheel drive if you are staying when freezing temps are expected because driveway is quite steep. Cabin was clean and had no issues while we were there. Something had exploded in the microwave prior to our stay and was not cleaned up, but other than that everything was great. Location was perfect. Approximately halfway between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Would definitely stay at this cabin again.

It was great had a encounter with a big black bear. We stood five feet apart. He had to be 400 pounds or very close. So I whipped out George and urinated in his tracks. The next day he came back grunted loudly. Went into cabin for camera, he didn't not like the urine smell and made a very angry gesture. He did not return after that.

The deck with the hot tub and grill being in the same living space as the kitchen and living room is conducive to multiple activities and continued interaction. The cabin was clean and spacious. The bedroom is around the corner, away from the living areas. Again, another great design. Even though we were near other cabins, the foliage prevents viewing and interaction. Having coffee in the morning on this deck was a calming experience.The cabin is near to the trolley, where you can park for free and ride for a minimal charge. It is also a reasonable distance to the grocery store. When at the cabin, it feels like you are out in the mountains.The driveway is steep and if your car has low clearance you will need to turn around and enter by making a right turn. Only issue is that not all windows have screens and one of the windows with screens had a scary looking spider. That window stayed closed! Everything else was great. Would totally stay at this one again.

Second Stay at Little Bear

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the second time we stayed at this location. Thanksgiving 2019 and Christmas 2020. This time we got lots of snow and almost was not able to make it back to the cabin due to the number of vehicles abandoned in the middle of the road coming up the mountain due to the icy roads. Luckily we made it back via alternate route before that route got blocked as well later on after we went through. Cabin is much larger than the pictures make it look. Driveway is quite steep; 4 wheel drive recommended 4 wheel drive and chains required if snow and ice is present. Barely made up the driveway in our jeep wrangler 4 wheel drive with chains due to the snow and ice Christmas Eve. Saw a bobcat cross the road in front of the cabin while walking. Definitely recommend this cabin and we would stay here again for a third time. Be prepared if coming during winter months if freezing weather is expected (food, water, 4 wheel drive, chains, etc.). We were not able to leave the cabin for ~40 hours until roads were drivable again and cars were removed from blocking the roads.

Great for a quick getaway

Would not stay with mountain laurels again if the check in process remains in person... having to drive through gatlinburg traffic just to get handed information that could have been in an email was a waste of time. I don’t want to lose an hour+ of my vacation to an antiquated check in process. Also the hot tub was over chlorinated and we couldn’t use it due to the off gassing making us cough and burning our lungs.

Things were worn and dated It was hard to keep warm the heat was constantly running to keep it at 72. The yard and driveway was littered with down trees and branches, but I did use some for the fire place! Beautiful views from the hot tub! Little bit of a tough drive up to the house, (not too many drinks w dinner). Bring pots and pans if your going to cook in. Bathroom clean but needs updating. Overall a nice place

Great Cabin for the Smokies

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Really enjoyed our stay. Driveway is not for the faint of heart or low clearance vehicles. Cabin is exactly as pictured/described. All appliances worked great - laundry is small and can barly accommodate 2 people/3 days of clothes. Loved the deck. Hot tub is great and in really good condition. We had neighbors but could hardly hear them .. cabin is really private. Loved the keyless entry as well. Checkout was great b/c we didn't need to return keys.
