Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Our cozy little cabin is located in Chalet Village in Gatlinburg near Ober Gatlinburg. Close enough to only be a few minutes drive from downtown but tucked away on the mountain where you could possibly see bear and turkey.

Time to enjoy the slopes, this cabin is located in Chalet Village and is just a minutes drive to skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and ice skating at Ober Gatlinburg. Even though you're close to Ober you are only a five minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg's shopping and restaurants. Don't forget the Ripley's Aquarium.

When you just want to relax you can enjoy the hot tub, maybe read a book and relax in front of the wood burning fireplace, or play a game of pool with friends.

In the summer this cabin has access to the Chalet Village Owner's Clubs, which have swimming pools and tennis courts.

We loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at The Gingerbread House. The location was really easy to get to and the directions were spot on. Check in was a breeze as all it took was a phone call to the office. Parking was in front of the cabin and we had plenty of space for a full size pickup truck. Upon arrival we noticed the hot tub read 85 degrees F. I called and was assured they had just changed out the water for us and it would reach proper temp soon. Within 2 hours it was up to 104 F and was great!!

The cabin had every thing we needed to start our vacation. We did buy dish soap, laundry detergent, paper towels and extra toilet paper (we left all of it there for the next guest as we only used a small amount) The interior of the cabin was very clean and cozy. The fireplace came stocked with wood and came in handy. We did buy fire starter at the little store down the road.

Bed was very comfy (we slept until 10am each day LOL). The TV and cable worked great and had a lot of channels. WiFi worked throughout the cabin. (no pass code needed). Shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Plenty of towels and wash clothes available. Washer and dryer were awesome to have! The central heat worked wonderful and kept the cabin at 72 f where we set it. The stove, oven and fridge were all spotless and worked well. The water out of the tap tasted very good with no weird odors or colors.

The location of the cabin is less than 1 mile from Ober and a 5-7 minute drive to Downtown Gatlinburg. There is a great convenient store a couple of miles down the ill as well as a superb pizza shop. The store has basic supplies and we found ourselves satisfied with the selection they had.

During our stay, one of the mornings we woke up to the heater not working (60 degrees F in the cabin) I called the office and they had a repair man out there within a hour to repair it. It was a minor inconvenience which was promptly resolved. Excellent customer service with that!

I wish there were a little bit brighter lighting in the cabin (personal preference) and the bathroom vent fan sounds like it will need replacing soon, Those are about the only nitpick things I can think of LOL

This is a great cabin if you want to visit Gatlinburg and be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but still be very close.

We highly recommend The Gingerbread House!!!!

Thank you Diana for the great communication and wonderful memories we made during our stay at your place!

love the location, place needs updating and repair in bathroom and a few other things.

  • 3 of 5

Bathroom needs wall repair, fan sounded like a jet plane. Hot tub handle broken, mirror in the bedroom off the wall, and just general updating. Oh bring your own chalk for the pool table. Overall OK stay just a few minor things to make it a great stay.

Peaceful & enjoyable!

  • 4 of 5

We weren't at the cabin much since it was my husbands first visit to Gatlinburg. This was our anniversary getaway & we had a great time. He enjoyed playing pool & talked me into it a couple of times. I loved that this cabin has a leather couch & porch swings! Thank you so much for the stay!

There were dishes left in the dishwasher when we arrived so you may want to talk with housekeeping about that and sweeping along the porches and clearing cobwebs outside, BUT those things were minimal to us & wouldn't keep us from staying again.

Thank you!

Great place to get away but still be close

  • 4 of 5

The family (Wife, 2 teen boys, and I) chose this cabin so we could enjoy our week in the Great Smokey Mountains. Gatlinburg was fun to visit and walk up and down the street, but we did not want to deal with the crowd all evening and morning. The cabin was just minutes from town, but offered so much more space, laundry, breakfast on the deck looking into the woods, and a hot tub to soak out our sore bodies from our hikes in the park. Glad we chose this place and we would return.

Cabin was ok

  • 3 of 5

With so many people staying in the cabin I realize it's hard to keep everything up to date. When we first got there we could not get into the cabin. I called the office and they had given us the incorrect code to open the door. Things happen and they immediately gave us the correct code so no big deal.Everything we needed was there but there were a few things that could be updated. The kitchen cabinets really could use a coat of paint as they were really chipped. Also, with the humidity the cabin had a really musty odor which would be better if there was a humidifier. Also, the steps going to the fire pit are really a hazard. Had blocks on top of loose flat rock which made for a really unsafe step. The owner did make sure that we had access to soap, dish washing liquid, towels, etc. Had a great vacation and with just a few updates the cabin would be great.

Perfect place for a weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We booked the Gingerbread house for a long weekend to kick off Spring Break 2016. It was perfect! Very clean and smelled great upon entry. Just the right amount of space for our family of 4. The kids loved the pool table and TV in the main living space. The hot tub was amazing. It is on the lower deck so it is covered which worked out great when night 2 it started to snow while we were it it--awesome! The washer/dryer downstairs was a bonus for drying those towels. The Kitchen had everything we needed. This was our first trip to the Great Smokey Mountains. This place is centrally located to everything that is offered between Gatlinburg, Pidgeon Forge and the National Forest Park. We didn't have time to do all the things that we had originally planned. Just means we will have to plan to visit again soon!
