Overall, the house was great for our family of 6 adults and 1 toddler. I think the inside of the house was exactly as pictured and very nice. The outside, however, I would not rave about. Something unspecified in the listing and unknown to us newcomers is that the Florida Keys’ beaches fill with sargassum (a sulfur smelling seaweed) in the summer months. Anytime we went outside, we would nearly throw up from the smell. I messaged the host about this and was told there are sometimes community efforts to clean it but nothing would be done. Also, the pool looked dirty but it was just where the paint had rubbed off on the frequently used parts. If you are looking for a house to stay in, I think the house is great and incredibly nice! If you’re wanting to stay here in summer months to soak in the beachfront part of the house, I don’t think I could completely recommend it.

Such a Fun Trip!!

We had the best time in Marathon! The house was, clean, cozy and comfortable and the AC worked great! We loved the spacious areas for hanging out downstairs and the pool and hot tub were wonderful!!!!

Unfortunately, our stay was a very disappointing experience, especially considering we were on vacation with our family.Upon arrival, the bathtub was full of dirty standing water and dog hair and would not drain. It took the management company a full day to resolve the issue, meaning our family had no access to that shower during that time.We were also concerned that the door on the master bathtub was loose and could fall. Someone came out and replaced a screw, but just 24 hours later, the door fell on my 7-year-old daughter, trapping her underneath it. Thankfully, I was right next door and was able to run in and remove it. This was a frightening and completely unacceptable safety issue, particularly after we had already raised concerns about the door.Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there. The refrigerator leaked, and two separate pictures fell off the walls. We were also concerned about what appeared to potentially be an issue with the septic system, especially given the property's location right next to the ocean. No one came to inspect or address that concern.Throughout our stay, the management company's responses were slow, and there was little effort to check on us, address the overall experience, or offer any compensation for the numerous problems we encountered. We did escalate our concerns to VRBO as well. I hate leaving negative reviews, and it was genuinely sad to have so many issues during what was supposed to be an enjoyable family vacation.

The pool and the hot tub were great. The shallow water and sinking into sand made kayaking a bit of a challenge, but worth the effort. The stairs were daunting for us as seniors. The view, once you were upstairs, was wonderful. Mike and Betty

Fun in the Keys

This house was perfect for our family. We stayed here with our adult children and 22 month old grandchild. The house has multiple seating areas and was very comfortable for 7 of us. Very clean and furnished nicely.Loved the pool and ocean. We were able to get kayaks out during high tide. Quick response from rental agency when we had questions. We had a very enjoyable, relaxing vacation and will cherish the memories. 😊

Keys vacation

The house was nice, the appliances such as the microwave-we could only do 30 seconds at a time, stove no matter what setting it stayed on high heat. The lawn people clean the palm trees on Saturday so there were no available garbage cans until Tuesday. Even today when we left they were filling all the cans with the tree branches.
