A beautiful week in paradise

  • 5 of 5

This home is lovely and has great gulf and sunset views from the house, deck, and dock. The owners were extremely responsive to a small issue we had with getting the gate to function, and were very helpful in getting it resolved. Our first few days we did have quite a few random people walking onto the property, but that resolved once the gate was fixed. Our only real complaint from our week here was the unfortunately very loud and very large group of renters at the house next door which eliminated most of the tranquillity we would have otherwise had, but that was just bad timing for us and certainly is not the fault of this property’s owners. And we found the setting of this home to be very peaceful during the few lulls in the neighbors’ partying. Regardless, we would definitely rent here again (and just cross our fingers we have better luck with the renters next door during future visits), which I think say she’s a lot for the quality of this property!

Perfect Florida Keys Experience

  • 5 of 5

From our very 1st communication with the McFalls, through our booking and check-in process, we couldn't be happier with our stay at this vacation house in Marathon Florida.

We flew into the Miami Airport and spent our 1st day in the Everglades (alligators & an airboat ride). Then we drove straight to the house in Marathon (about 2 hours). When we pulled up to the property we were so excited to see that it was even prettier in person that it was in pictures online.

The interior has been thoughtfully updated with clean and spacious rooms throughout. The bathrooms were top notch and bedrooms were great for our party of 5 adults (us and our 3 adult children). The kitchen and great room was fully equipped with everything you need for home cooking, game playing, TV watching, etc. There was plenty of clean bath and beach towels. The 2 king mattresses will need replacing soon but with as well as this house is cared for I am sure that is "on the list".

The small dipping pool was nice to have on site... certainly doesn't need heated in the summer months... it was practically a hot tub while we were there. Under the house parking was wonderful to keep the car shaded and cool. The shed was stocked with lots of fun including 1 kayak, 2 paddle boards, a couple rafts, some pool toys, beach chairs, odds and ends for snorkeling, extra propane tank for the grill, etc. The porch... oh the porch (my favorite spot of the property besides being on the water) has comfortable seating, wonderful ceiling fans, beautiful café lights, and a westward facing view perfect for viewing the sunset each night. We moved the homes' Bluetooth speaker (did I mention this house has everything) out on to the porch and streamed music from our phones, sipped beverages, reminisced about our days' activities, and ooohed and aaahed as the sky went from sunset to stary stary night. LOVE!

We were on the water everyday (no boat... snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding) and were lucky to see nurse sharks, barracuda, a sea turtle, manatee, and many tropical fish right from the property. Our daytime adventures took us to the sights of Key West, a number of keys beaches, a catamaran ride to snorkel the reef, hand feeding tarpon, and enjoying some good area restaurants when we weren't simply preparing our meals in the wonderful house kitchen (Publix is super convenient for shopping).

Don't hesitate... if this house is available when you are traveling to the keys... book it! ENJOY!

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

What a great house! It didn't feel like a rental, it felt like we were in a friends house for a week. From the furniture to the granite countertops, the house was very well decorated. We had a 24' boat and the location was perfect to get to the 7 mile bridge or the vaca cut. When we weren't on the water, the kids were catching fish from the pier or watching the resident tarpon, stingrays, or baby nurse shark. Half way through our week the kids were already asking if we could come back. And the sunsets are incredible from the chairs on the deck. Thanks Diane for a great family vacation.

Great location. View was spectacular. Fishing from dock and with Capt Wayne Gatling was super; we had fresh fish every night at our favorite restaurants. House was neat, clean and fully equipped. We will return!

The Perfect Vacation on the shore of the Gulf of Mexico right in the middle of the Florida Keys.

  • 5 of 5

We escaped the North Eastern and came to a house full of light and a sea full of birds. We took a dip in the Gulf three times a day and we gathered every evening on the dock for a drink and a spectacular sunset. We grilled Mahi-Mahi for dinner and went to Lazy Days for dinner. We learned about the Seminole heritage at the Crane Point Museum and we made a whole day excursion to Key West visiting Ernest Hemingway's house and his favorite watering holes. Back at the villa we enjoyed the comfort of the rooms and it furnishings and the convenience of a well-equipped kitchen.

A great piece of the Keys

  • 4 of 5

Tucked away at the end of 50th Street you have your secluded place on the water. Plenty of parking, ramp & dock for your boat. Great water views to see wildlife and room for sunbathing. Splash pool for relaxing. Nice deck runs the length of the house with sunset views. Bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds and new tile & glass showers. Living area is large and open to dining & kitchen. Nice grill for grilling that fresh catch. Location is convenient to grocery shopping. House is a 15 minute bike ride or 5 minute car ride from the beach. Enjoyed our stay.
