About James J Malsch

I have spent 28 years working in the real estate industry and Oyster Bay is one of the nicest and most convenient recreation spots I know that has Puget Sound access on the Kitsap Peninsula.

James J Malsch purchased this house in 2005

Why James J Malsch chose Puget Sound North

This is the nicest bay in the Bremerton area. In the summer it draws many people for water recreation, there is a terrific 4th of July fireworks display from local property owners. In the winter the views are beautiful and the Christmas Ships tour the bay during the holiday season. Sit in the hot tub or lounge on the deck and enjoy all the waterfront views have to offer. Snuggle with a good book or movie and enjoy a warm fire during the winter months.

What makes this house unique

Watching the wildlife, cranes, sea lions, eagles, and much more. Great for BBQ's, the large deck spans the width of the house. Canoe or kayak around the bay or out to the old naval munitions dock. Away from it all yet a short walk to groceries, Starbucks, The Pancake House, Redbox, Wallgreens, Tony's Pzza, Jack in the box, and much more.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi James

On behalf of my entire family I would like to thank you for the great accommodations that your Oyster Bay property provided us on our recent stay. From the first view of the bay from the deck to the last dip in the hot tub one frosty night, we all agree that the cottage provided a comfortable and restful weekend getaway. The cottage was very nicely furnished and supplied. There was really nothing that we lacked throughout the weekend.

Best wishes for a Happy Holidays.

Charming, good place to relax. Lots of space and having 3 bathrooms was great!

  • 4 of 5

Perfect location to relax. The bar just above plays loud music but it quits around 11 Pm. The bay is beautiful and serene, but without a dock access or a stairway it is difficult to dip your feet in the water or launch the provided canoes. The internet is fast, however the tv does not work and no instructions were left. Hot tub is perfect to relax in in the evening. My only regret is that the entire last day is spent doing laundry and dishes as they ask all towels be washed a put away dry, and dish washer emptied. A difficult task if you have been there a week with 6-8 guests and want to catch an early ferry.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your stay. Yes, Brother Don's is one of the restaurants / bars listed in our ad and is two lots away up the hill. On select nights they have live Jazz bands and Karaoke. We cannot hear this in the house generally but it is noticeable on the driveway side of the house. On the welcome list we ask that guests strip the beds and put used linens and towels near the washing machine for the cleaners to clean. Guests are not required to wash and fold the towels or bedding. We do have a low bank waterfront which requires some careful steps down to the beach. The two flat screen TV's do work well, we and our guests use them frequently. So sorry you had an issue figuring out the remotes. We are just a phone call or text away if our guests have a question or concern. Thanks again.

Even better than it looks

  • 5 of 5

We got married in Kitsap but live over an hour away so we chose the Oyster Bay house for our nights following the festivities and it was PERFECT! With 4 bedrooms and 3 baths there was more than enough space for us, my brother and his spouse, and my new sister in law to stay comfortably and still enjoy our space! With 5 people it didn't even feel crowded. There was a large patio set on the upstairs deck where we enjoyed our breakfasts and a cute hideaway downstairs next to the hot tub with a cozy hammock. The hot tub was in prime location, perfect for watching the sunset over the water. I would highly recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in the Bremerton area. It was even more beautiful than the pictures, and everything you could need was in the home already, we were all so amazed at how perfect it was. We will be back again, there is no need to stay in a hotel when you can have such a gorgeous home all to yourself! Thank you so much for making us feel welcome into your home, we absolutely loved it !

An Oasis in Puget Sound

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rented James' property for the 4th of July this year. It was an amazing place. So comfortable and peaceful. The home was so spacious we never felt like we were on top of each other. Although the weather was unseasonably hot. James saw two it that the two bedrooms upstairs had air conditioning units installed. My Uncle is disabled and the home was set up perfectly for him to get around. I would more than recommend this property. Thank you James for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.
