Best Kind Of Family Time

This is our 2nd time booking the Tranquil Trout with our family of 6. From morning coffee on the deck, afternoons boating or fishing on Blue Ridge and evenings around a bonfire we enjoy everything about this cozy cabin. Can’t wait to visit again.

Excellent Location

This is the perfect location for a weekend gettaway. There was plenty of space for our boys and dogs to relax! While we enjoyed our stay and loved the location, I would let others know that the access to lake blue ridge is not ideal if your kids are planning to use a paddle board or similar to go fishing.

We had a great week in the mountains, the cabin was perfect. Each room is on a separate floor with separate bathrooms and outdoor space. The Host was amazingly, quick to responded we were able to get the cabin last second as our other accommodation didn't work out. If you are thinking about booking, you won't be disappointed.

As described and peaceful

We had an excellent time with our stay. We enjoyed the creature comforts of this cabin as it had all that we were looking for. The owners answered all of our questions and helped us work out small issues that we came across. The property was clean and the area was serene. My family and I are already discussing another getaway here as it is minutes from Blue Ridge Lake.

We are avid travelers, for both business and pleasure, with a love for the great outdoors. After a trip to the mountains of Wyoming in 2022, we knew we needed to find a special place that we could recreate our wild-west adventure, and The Tranquil Trout was born.

Why they chose this property

The perfect mix of mountain charm and modern comfort, this fantastic cabin will delight everyone in your group. This refreshing retreat in the North Georgia mountains is bordered by national forest and steps away from Lake Blue Ridge, close to hiking and waterfalls, and features everything needed for a relaxing vacation. This spacious cabin encourages fun for everyone with three king bedrooms with ensuite baths, hot tub, game room, and plentiful outdoor areas including a large fenced yard, a firepit, and a hot tub.

What makes this property unique

Located just 505-steps from Lake Blue Ridge with access via community trail. Bring your boat and launch from one of many public launch areas within five miles and spend a picturesque day on the lake soaking in the sun and mountain beauty. No boat, no problem as there are many boat and kayak rental options. Hikers will enjoy several trail systems including the Swinging Bridge on the Toccoa River where you can hike, picnic, fish, or relax. In summer, spend the day tubing down the Toccoa River with several options to rent tubes nearby. Only 10 miles west, explore the shops of downtown Blue Ridge, or head to McCaysville, 10 miles north-west, where you can dine on the river. And don’t forget to schedule your ride on the Scenic Railway that departs seasonally from downtown Blue Ridge!

Important note about lake access: Lake Blue Ridge is part of the Tennessee Valley Authority system. Lake water levels generally begin to decline in early September and generally start to rise in May. The lake is generally full from Memorial Day through Labor day. Host has no control over the water level in the lake and is happy to recommend locations to fish or launch kayaks that are more suitable from September through May. For more information about the water levels, visit the TVA water release schedule page.

Lake Blue Ridge is accessible from a common path. A map to the entrance of the path is available in the cabin. Note the path is rocky and uneven and all guests should use caution. Fishing is permitted (seasonal). Small, non-motorized watercraft may be launched from this access (seasonal). Not suitable for swimming. No dock is available. Please respect this shared space and bring out what you bring in.
