Charming 1911 Farmhouse, 7 Wooded Acres Adjacent Camden Hills State Park
Historic Ocean Express farmhouse is located on 7 quiet wooded acres adjacent to Camden Hills State Park. Trails can be accessed from across the street and the trailhead is at the end of the road past the winery. Built in 1911 the house was completely renovated in 2003 but retains it's historic charm. The house is bright and airy throughout. There are 3 bed rooms upstairs 2 with Queen beds and one with a double bed. All mattresses are new as of 2022. A sleeper sofa in the living room sleeps an additional 2 people. A twin size daybed sleeps an additional person in the playroom. A full bath on each floor and fully equipped cooks kitchen with a 5 burner stove and numerous pots pans and kitchen gadgets to make cooking enjoyable. . Small pantry with 2nd sink and small refrigerator. Cook dinner on the 5 burner gas stove or grill out on the back deck while watching the sunset over the fields. Read in the morning sunshine while swinging on the front porch swing. Kitchen abuts a pine paneled playroom for the kids. Many toys and games are available for smaller children to play with or they can play on the play structure outside. Unwind and play ping pong or fooze ball in the game room that is located just off the playroom. Enjoy the tranquility of the Maine woods and countryside, while still being a short distance from the lively village of Camden. Located midway between the best of the areas attractions! It is a short drive ( 4 mi) to Lincolnville Beach where you can swim in the ocean, build sandcastles on the sand beach, eat freshly caught lobsters, or catch the ferry over to Ilseboro. A short drive in the other direction ( 2.5 mi ) will take you to Barretts Cove on Megunticook Lake where you can enjoy, wading, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, or windsurfing. Drive 5.5 miles from the house and you will be in Camden Harbor where you can take a ride on a Windjammer, watch the Schooners, walk along the boardwalk, feed the ducks, shop, or relax and watch the boats sail in and out. Camden Hills State Park is a lovely trail filled woods directly adjacent to house. You can walk the 6 mile hike into Camden through the Park. Walk to the top of Mount Batty, enjoy spectacular views of the bay. The Fall Foliage is beautiful. There are miles of snowmobile and cross country sking trails across the street in Camden Hills State Park, A short 1/2 mile walk up Youngtown Road is the Cellar Door Winery. This beautiful winery is open for tastings and strolling around the grounds. Within 30 minutes in either direction are the towns of Belfast and Rockland. Visit their harbors and shops, restaurants, cafes, walk out 1 mile to the historic Rockalnd Breakwater Lighthouse,or visit the Farnsworth Museum. Antique shops abound along the route. There is downhill skiing nearby at the Snowbowl. Camden Snowbowl hosts the US toboggan championships.

Located adjacent to Camden Hills State Park we love to hike the trails. Walk over to the Cellar Door Winery for wine tasting and scenery. The farmhouse is located just about midway between 4 of our favorites activities. Short drives will take you swimming at Barretts Cove in Megunticook Lake, building sand castles at Lincolnville Beach, feeding the ducks and looking a the windjammers in Camden Harbor, or skipping stones and watching the tides at Ducktrap .
