About the property

2 bedroom, 1 bath. Relaxing lakeside retreat with dock for swimming & boating.

Classic lake side cottage with covered porch looking out to granite islands with hills beyond. Spend a quiet day kayaking, swimming or hiking the State Park, then enjoy the night life of Camden minuets away. Or relax on the deck enjoying the sounds of the loons, watching the moon rise over Hosmer Pond and then move inside with a good book for a quiet evening by the wood stove. The kitchen is clean and simple and fully equipped. Enjoy cooking outside on a gas grill.

The house sleeps four : a master bedroom and a room with 2 twin beds.

The bathroom is small, but clean and comfortable. A note to those who are tall: the shower head is rather low, but managable.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or special requests. My wish is for you to have a fabulous vacation at Loon Cottage!

About Lisa Morgan

I've been living in Mid-coast Maine for over 25 years. I have two children who grew up here in this wonderful community. I work as a designer and artist and love to share all that I love about Maine!

Lisa Morgan purchased this cottage in 2016

Why Lisa Morgan chose Camden

The cottage has a wonderful history of owners who have enjoyed this amazing place on the Pond. It grabbed me the moment I saw it and I hope to have it in the family for many, many years to come. I hope you will love Loon Cottage as much as I do!

What makes this cottage unique

The view looking out across the Pond says it all. The stillness of the water, the wildlife, the granite islands with the hills beyond...All a short distance from Camden and Rockport and the dramatic beauty of the coast. There is so much to discover!

Relaxing, quiet, comfortable cottage on the lake

  • 4 of 5

The place was very homey, and everything we needed was there. The mattress needs to be replaced as it was a bit uncomfortable, and the canoe should be replaced as we had to patch it with duct tape to prevent it from leaking. We enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the lake, watching the loons. The cottage is well located close to Camden, Rockport and Rockland.

Peaceful Sanctuary at Loon Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Our little family of four had such an amazing two-week stay at Loon Cottage. We enjoyed quiet strolls along the dirt roads, evenings watching the family of Loons, days kayaking around Hosmer Pond and venturing to nearby Camden and Rockland. A quick drive to Camden or Rockland and so many amazing places to eat. We really enjoyed snuggling up at night with a fire in the wood stove. Lisa is so accommodating and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed, but the cabin is well equipped and we were well cared for. We look forward to our next stay at Loon Cottage!

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Very cozy cabin on the lake. The two bedrooms are a good size, just wish the bed in the master bedroom was bigger than a double. The kitchen has almost everything you would need to cook but a microwave would have been nice.

Overall, we really liked this cabin and the location from Camden was only about 10 minutes by car. The owner was very attentive and responsive.

Everything you need

  • 5 of 5

Lovely small cottage with a great location on a quiet pond in Camden. The only noisy neighbors were the loons and a bull frog that live by the pond :-)

Kitchen is well-stocked with pots/pans etc. Gas grill on the porch works great! Homeowner available and responsive immediately for any concern or question we had. We had a great trip!!

Peace and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin. Very clean and quiet. It's small but for us (2 adults) it was perfect and made for a great getaway. Even though it was cold, one of us used the kayak for a spin around the beautiful lake. Wood stove made for cozy evenings. Camden is very close as are other attractions along the Maine coast. Liz was great about communicating. She obviously cares greatly about the place and keeps it in great shape. Thanks!

Peaceful Cabin 10 minutes from downtown Camden

  • 4 of 5

Loon Cabin is a peaceful cabin with a deck overlooking a beautiful pond. The property is rustic, quiet, and peaceful. The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and clean - the kitchen was well-stocked, it had all the appliances we needed, and had a wood stove and quick hot water. The shower was small but adequate for our needs. Although we were not there in swimming season, there was a kayak and canoe available, and the sandy bottom and clean water made the pond look like a good place to swim. The cabin is just minutes to biking and hiking trails, as well as skiing and snow shoeing. And it is a 10 minute car ride to all downtown Camden has to offer. We had a great stay!

The cottage is located on a quiet road on a picturesque spot over looking the water with the hills beyond. While there are a couple of homes on Golden Pond road you are nestled down on the water's edge under a canopy of trees making it feel very private. One can spend a day relaxing on the porch, sunbathing on the dock or kayaking out to the small granite islands and then at the end of the day enjoy the many restaurants and festivities in the towns along the coast.
