Family Beach House very close to the Atlantic Ocean; one and a half block walk to the beach. This is a recently renovated home with beautiful hardwood floors, open kitchen with counter and dining table incorporated with rest of living area. Fully equipped kitchen. Three bathrooms plus outside shower.

Lovely ranch home owned by the same family for over 50 years. It holds many happy memories that they hope others can replicate. Located on a quiet section of the Isle of Palms, there are no busy roads to cross and the beach is normally sparsely populated.

Enter the house into the spacious living area with loads of natural lighting. The combined living/dining area includes a 50” flat-screen, digital, HD cable television, a desk-top computer for guest use and wireless internet.

The large master bedroom has a queen, a double and a Bahama bed for maximizing sleeping capacity. The master bath is handicap- accessible with a roll-in shower and grab rails. The room has a large closet, dresser, chest of drawers and vanity for easy storage. There is digital cable for the flat-panel TV in the room.

The second bedroom has a queen bed, flat-panel TV and large closet and dresser. The third bedroom has a queen bed with a large dresser and closet. All linens are provided, however, guests should bring their own beach towels. Three full bathrooms and an outdoor enclosed hot/cold shower ensure that following a day at the beach everyone can get clean quickly.

The house has a screened porch for enjoying the out-of-doors. A detached deck for cooking out and socializing makes the space seem even greater. For the first time, the owners are allowing a pet-friendly option and the back yard is enclosed by gated fencing.

This home is located 20 minutes from historic, downtown Charleston and 5 minutes from bustling Mt. Pleasant. Shopping ranges from high-end King St. to the casual, parking-friendly Town Center. Restaurants include exotic and local cuisine, many staffed by graduates of the famed Culinary Institute of Charleston.

Revisit early American History in Charleston. Multiple tours enable you to visit gorgeous homes and plantations built when Charleston was young. Revolutionary and Civil War sites remind you that Charleston was settled, long before there was a nation and was an early actor in the War Between the States. Multiple other local tourist attractions ensure that all vacation tastes are represented.

Come visit and explore all the delights of small-island living. Bring your bikes - or rent them here. With miles of flat, beautiful scenery, you can spend hours on physical activity and won't even know it's hard. Free tennis courts and child play structures at the Isle of Palms Recreation Center are located within a mile of the house. The Isle of Palms Marina has boat and Jet Ski rentals as well as parasailing, Eco tours and fishing expeditions that satisfy the adventurous soul.

The Charleston area is host to many events throughout the seasons. The Polar Bear Swim on January 1, kick starts the year. The winter months bring multiple Oyster Roasts to benefit local charities. One of the most renowned, the Lowcountry Oyster Festival at Boone Hall provides shucking and eating contests as well as live music. The Bridge Run in late March is an international event that attracts world-class and week-end athletes to participate in the best 10 K race in the south. Racers cross the Cooper River on the architecturally renowned Ravenel Bridge and end in downtown Charleston.

April is a must for tennis fans. Nearby Daniel Island attracts top ranked women's tennis to the Family Circle Cup - an intimate experience for tennis fans in a venue that allows you to see early rounds up close and personal. May brings Piccolo Spoleto, a multi-cultural array of theater, music food and celebration that patterns itself on the Italian Spoleto Festival. The summer months bring boats and beaches to the forefront. There are multiple regattas to attract serious - or not so much - sailing aficionados. Golf is ever-present on mutliple golf courses - two right here on the island.

The weather remains warm enough to swim in the ocean late into Fall. The Susan B. Komen race for the Cure attracts many fans to the area during October. Fright Night is an annual event at Boone Hall Plantation – a working Plantation to attract ghouls and goblins for evenings of fun (hayrides and corn mazes) and fright. Late Fall and Winter bring multiple holiday events, including the James Island Festival of Lights and the Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island Tree Lighting Celebrations that bring guests and residents to Front Beach and the prediction is always “Snow”.

About The Owner

I am the oldest of six children. We have lots of cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends with whom we love to share this house.

The Owner purchased this house in 1955

Why The Owner chose Isle of Palms

My parents originally bought the house in 1955 when my father was stationed at the Air Force base, two of my sisters were born while we lived here. Over the years there have been man family get togethers at this house and that continues today. We gutted, renovated and expanded the house in 2009. Our fondest childhood memories are in this house and beach. Our children grew up visiting our parents and enjoying the beach. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do!

What makes this house unique

You can walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes. The house is located on the quiet part of the island with very little traffic. This part of the beach is not commercial and not crowded most of the time. The home itself is open and airy. It is suitable for family game time, partying with a crowd or conversely, napping. It has all the comforts and amenities that your home has. On the day you move in, you will be welcomed with a clean slate. Throw yourself into beach and tourist activities and every evening the house will be waiting to welcome your family home. When your week is over, you will have a full book of memories.


The beach 5 minute walk from the house. Historic Charleston and Mt. Pleasant offer a wide variety of shopping, attractions, physical fitness activities and yoga studios within minutes of leaving your front door.

Great Beach Visit!

We had a great time during our week at this home. The location was perfect. It is in a very quiet and safe feeling neighborhood. It is just a very short stroll to a beautiful, wide, extremely clean beach. Because there is very little public beach access parking in this area, the beach is very private and not crowded like most beaches are. Kids have lots of room to run and play without parents having to worry about them. It is also a nice area to gather lots of different types of shells. We were thrilled to find a sand dollar. The house has a shower in the back yard. It was really great to be able to wash off after each beach visit. The home had everything that we needed, and we hope that we will be able to stay here again in the future. It really started to feel like being at home!

Ideal getaway spot!

This place was a perfect fit for our group and with the short walk to the beach there isn't anything more we could have asked for. The beach is never crowded. The outdoor shower was perfect for not taking the beach inside with you and the rest of the house is comfy and felt like home.

Not sure who loved this vacation more - us or our dogs!

This was the perfect house for us! One easy block from a beautiful beach that felt exclusive during the times we love - early in the morning and when the sun was going down. Our dogs loved the "unleashed" rule, in the morning, on the beach. The house was perfect for them and us. Tons of space in the great room with a bathroom right off of it - tucked away. Screened in porch with fans made for some relaxing reading time and the grill on the deck was brand new.

What was surprising was a couple of things. How quiet the neighborhood was. Wow! We didn't hear a neighbor for the whole time we stayed there. The other thing was the huge master suite. It was as big as my first apartment! The shower was so spacious and plenty of drawer space.

We didn't get in our car when we were on the island. We rented bikes and the store was a quick ride to get there on quiet streets and sidewalks. Our trip to Charleston only took about 20 minutes to get there and we had a blast looking at the homes and just walking on the cobblestone streets.

We will definitely stay here again! The property manager/owner rep was fantastic. Super responsive and kind. Definitely was clearly sincere about making this one of our best vacations ever.

Perfect place for us!

This place worked perfectly for us. The short proximity to the beach and to downtown Charleston made this the ideal location for us. Having a pet friendly place with a fenced in yard was great for our dog, and the beach was very dog friendly. We will definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it! The owners were also extremely accommodating and very easy to work with.

Great Isle of Palms Beach House

I have nothing but kudos for 407 Carolina Blvd. The house was perfect for our family and super clean. We took our dog and she loved running in the fenced back yard. The kitchen had everything we needed, and then some. Even though it was a short walk to the beach, I rented a golf cart from Brad Hunnicutt with Isle of Palms Golf Cart Rentals. He was great to work with. Furniture, beds, kitchen equipment, washer/dryer, bathrooms were in great condition. There were hardwood floors in house except for two bedrooms which had carpet. The hardwood floors made it easier to keep clean. My contact for the house rental, Terri, was wonderful to work with and so helpful. We would definitely rent this house again and I have already told several friends and family members what a great VBRO rental this house is!

Wonderful Week

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this home! It was very clean and the kitchen was extremely well equipped as was the rest of the house. The family room was particularly nice with plenty of comfortable furniture. The lovely beach is just a short distance away. We had our little dog with us which made it extra special.
