Family Beach House close to the Atlantic Ocean with a two block walk to the beach. This home was renovated in 2009 with hardwood floors, open kitchen, dining and living area. In the fall of 2017 a large sun room was added that is equipped with a queen size sofa bed with a comfy memory foam mattress.

Lovely ranch home owned by the same family for over 60 years that holds many happy memories, they hope guests will create their own memories. Located in a quiet section of the Isle of Palms with no busy roads on the way to the beach that is normally sparsely populated.

Enter the house into the spacious living area with loads of natural lighting. The combined living/dining/kitchen area includes a 50” flat-screen, HD television with a Comcast cable premium channel package, the living room also has a bahama bed for an extra guest. The kitchen is fully equipped. The home has wireless internet throughout.

The large master bedroom has one queen bed, one double bed and a Bahama bed for an extra guest. The room has a large closet, dresser and chest of drawers with plenty of storage and a desk/vanity. There is a flat screen TV with cable in the room. The master bedroom and bath are handicap accessible with a roll-in shower and grab rails.

The second bedroom has a queen bed, a flat screen TV with cable, a large dresser and closet. The third bedroom has a queen bed with a large dresser and closet. All rooms have a ceiling fan, there are two additional full bathrooms, towels and linens are provided however guests should bring their own beach towels.

The large, newly added sun room is an additional living space with a 50" HD cable TV and a queen size sofa bed boasting a memory foam mattress. The home is pet-friendly with an enclosed back yard.

The home is 20 minutes from downtown Charleston which is a nationally recognized "foodie heaven" with renowned chefs serving wonderful locally sourced cuisine. Charleston is an historic port city with cobblestone streets, horse-drawn carriages, antebellum homes and is rich in historical sights. The surrounding area has several plantation homes and gardens, if you visit in the spring you will be astounded at the beauty of it all.

The home is also 5 minutes from the bustling shopping mecca in the Town Center of Mt. Pleasant.

Come visit and explore all the delights of small-island living, bring your bikes/golf carts or rent them here. With miles of flat, beautiful scenery, you can spend hours on physical activity and not even think it is difficult. At the Isle of Palms Recreation Center there are free tennis courts and child play structures located within a mile of the house. The Isle of Palms Marina has boat, jet ski and kayak rentals as well as parasailing, Eco tours and fishing expeditions that satisfy the adventurous soul.

The Charleston area is host to many events throughout the year beginning with the Sullivan's Island Polar Bear Swim on January 1. The winter months bring multiple Oyster Roasts to benefit local charities, one of the most renowned is the Low Country Oyster Festival at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant with shucking and eating contests as well as live music. The Bridge run in late March is an international event that attracts world-class and week-end athletes to participate in one of the best 10 K races in the south. Racers cross the Cooper River on the architecturally renowned Ravenel Bridge and end in downtown Charleston.

April is a must for tennis fans, nearby Daniel Island attracts top ranked women's tennis to the Family Circle Cup, an intimate experience for tennis fans in a venue that allows you to see early rounds up close and personal. May brings Piccolo Spoleto, a multi-cultural array of theater, music, food and celebration that patterns itself on the Italian Spoleto Festival. The summer months bring boats and beaches to the forefront. There are multiple regattas to attract serious - or not so much - sailing aficionados. Golf is ever-present on mutliple local golf courses, two right here on the island.

The weather remains warm enough to swim in the ocean late into the fall. The Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure attracts many fans to the area during October. Fright Night is an annual event at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, a working plantation to attract ghouls and goblins with hayrides, corn mazes and fright.

Late Fall and Winter bring multiple holiday events, including the James Island Festival of Lights, the Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island Tree Lighting Celebrations that bring guests and residents to Front Beach and the prediction is always “Snow”.

About The Owner

We are a family of six siblings, two of us live in the Charleston area, two in Charlotte NC and two live in the Norfolk VA area. We have lots of cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends with whom we love to share this house.

Our parents originally bought the house in 1955 when our father was stationed at Charleston Air Force base, two sisters were born while we lived here. Over the years there have been many family gatherings at this house and that continues today. We gutted, renovated and expanded the house in 2009 to accommodate our handicapped mother. Our fondest childhood memories are in this house and at this beach. Our own children grew up visiting our parents and enjoying the beach. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do!

Why The Owner chose Isle of Palms

This is a lovely, roomy ranch home located in an idyllic island community close to Charleston which is an historic and vibrant tourist area. The beach is in close walking distance to the house and the Isle of Palms is a very friendly beach even for pets in designated hours.

What makes this house unique

The house is located on the quiet part of the island with very little traffic and you can walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes, this part of the beach is not commercial and usually not at all crowded. The home itself is open and airy, suitable for family game time, partying with a crowd or conversely, napping. It has all the comforts and amenities of your own home. On the day you move in, you will be welcomed with a clean slate so all you have to do is head to the beach or tourist activities and every evening the house will be waiting to welcome your family home. When your week is over, you will have a full book of memories.

Great Beach Visit!

We had a great time during our week at this home. The location was perfect. It is in a very quiet and safe feeling neighborhood. It is just a very short stroll to a beautiful, wide, extremely clean beach. Because there is very little public beach access parking in this area, the beach is very private and not crowded like most beaches are. Kids have lots of room to run and play without parents having to worry about them. It is also a nice area to gather lots of different types of shells. We were thrilled to find a sand dollar. The house has a shower in the back yard. It was really great to be able to wash off after each beach visit. The home had everything that we needed, and we hope that we will be able to stay here again in the future. It really started to feel like being at home!

Ideal getaway spot!

This place was a perfect fit for our group and with the short walk to the beach there isn't anything more we could have asked for. The beach is never crowded. The outdoor shower was perfect for not taking the beach inside with you and the rest of the house is comfy and felt like home.

Not sure who loved this vacation more - us or our dogs!

This was the perfect house for us! One easy block from a beautiful beach that felt exclusive during the times we love - early in the morning and when the sun was going down. Our dogs loved the "unleashed" rule, in the morning, on the beach. The house was perfect for them and us. Tons of space in the great room with a bathroom right off of it - tucked away. Screened in porch with fans made for some relaxing reading time and the grill on the deck was brand new.

What was surprising was a couple of things. How quiet the neighborhood was. Wow! We didn't hear a neighbor for the whole time we stayed there. The other thing was the huge master suite. It was as big as my first apartment! The shower was so spacious and plenty of drawer space.

We didn't get in our car when we were on the island. We rented bikes and the store was a quick ride to get there on quiet streets and sidewalks. Our trip to Charleston only took about 20 minutes to get there and we had a blast looking at the homes and just walking on the cobblestone streets.

We will definitely stay here again! The property manager/owner rep was fantastic. Super responsive and kind. Definitely was clearly sincere about making this one of our best vacations ever.

Perfect place for us!

This place worked perfectly for us. The short proximity to the beach and to downtown Charleston made this the ideal location for us. Having a pet friendly place with a fenced in yard was great for our dog, and the beach was very dog friendly. We will definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it! The owners were also extremely accommodating and very easy to work with.

Great Isle of Palms Beach House

I have nothing but kudos for 407 Carolina Blvd. The house was perfect for our family and super clean. We took our dog and she loved running in the fenced back yard. The kitchen had everything we needed, and then some. Even though it was a short walk to the beach, I rented a golf cart from Brad Hunnicutt with Isle of Palms Golf Cart Rentals. He was great to work with. Furniture, beds, kitchen equipment, washer/dryer, bathrooms were in great condition. There were hardwood floors in house except for two bedrooms which had carpet. The hardwood floors made it easier to keep clean. My contact for the house rental, Terri, was wonderful to work with and so helpful. We would definitely rent this house again and I have already told several friends and family members what a great VBRO rental this house is!

Wonderful Week

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this home! It was very clean and the kitchen was extremely well equipped as was the rest of the house. The family room was particularly nice with plenty of comfortable furniture. The lovely beach is just a short distance away. We had our little dog with us which made it extra special.
