Minutes from Cataloochee Ski resort , horseback riding, hiking, white water rafting,Tube World, Blue Ridge Parkway, The Great Smoky Mountain Railway, and Harrah's Cherokee Casino. The quaint and friendly town of Waynesville and its many restaurants, fine shopping and local artist is just 10 minutes away. The Cherokee Indian Reservation and it's' full Casino is right down US 19. Asheville, home of the Biltmore Estate, is the areas major city and is a 45 minute trip down I-40.

If sipping on a cup of coffee in a rocking chair or reading a good book on one of the multi decks is all your heart desires to do then Parkway Creek is well equipped to give you that. Parkway Creek has everything you want and need! A beautiful Lodge with two creeks, one in the back yard and one on the side. With natural springs everywhere you look. It even has a self serve, natural spring fed water fountain in the front driveway to fill up your water bottles.

The master bedroom has its own electric fireplace with LCD. The game room has real arcade games including one that has over 25 different games to choose from. Parkway Creek has a wrap around driveway with plenty of parking for extra cars, trailers etc. I have had over 10 vehicles there at one time. The front of the house has an open deck with a view of the mountain & the rushing creek. The back porch is covered for shade or rainy days. Parkway Creek has a separate hot tub room outside that is completely covered & private with a 6 person Jacuzzi. Has a fire pit in lower backyard beside a creek for nightly warmth or marshmellow fun. You will surely want to spend time on the deck soaking in all the spectacular views as the nearby Elk stroll threw the yard! As you enter the Lodge, you will be charmed throughout as this house captures the Smoky Mountain dreams. Cozy and quaint with the comfort you look forward to for your vacation in the Smokies. The beautiful Buck Stove fireplace will give warmth on cool nights and there are plenty of warm blankets. This home features a dramatic Great Room with a 25-foot ceiling, and exposed Pine beams. A great fully stocked kitchen with new appliances. More than 1,000 square feet of outdoor deck, porch and patio space. A Large LED TV with surround sound, Buck stove fireplace. Flat screen TVs in two bedrooms. Wood floors in living areas. Great house, great location.

  • 5 of 5

House was very clean, spacious, well furnished and comfortable. Location was close enough to enough places to be able to grab anything you may have forgotten to bring from home, grab a bite to eat or go somewhere fun while still feeling you are away from the chaos of a more populated area. Will definitely rent again if we go back to the area.

Fantastic family trip!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful, fun stay at this spacious and comfortable lodge. The kitchen was very well-stocked, even better than my own kitchen at home. The kids loved the creek out back, the hot tub, and the arcade games. The adults loved the balcony porch and the view. We did day trips out to Soco Falls, hiking Hemphill Bald, Sliding Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville breweries, the Smoky Mountain Railroad that will be great memories for our whole lives. Mr. Billy was always in close contact whenever I had a question about the place.

The biggest detriment was something we just had to get used to, which is that the phone/internet/TV aren't reliable. There's no cellular connection (Verizon or Sprint) up there. When I tried to call to order a pizza, the house phone was all but useless because no one on the other end could hear me. The TV didn't get major channels such as Weather Channel, ESPN, Fox Sports, etc. and would go out completely in the rain. The internet is really only fast enough to check your e-mail, nothing that would involve heavy multimedia. My brother is taking an online class so he had to go down the mountain to be able to do his work.

All that being said, it feels good to unplug sometimes, just know what you're getting into. We had plenty of books, puzzles, and sightseeing to keep us entertained the whole time.

We would absolutely recommend this place for any big family gatherings like ours. Awesome trip.

Great place with nature in your back yard!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin but the stream was amazing. The kids loved it and the fire pit for roasting marshmellows. Best vacation ever! First time ever seeing elk, we loved everything about our trip.
