The house was perfect for our family and our dog loved the yard. A few other visitors posted issues with rust stains, but this is just because of the well water. We did not notice any abnormal issues. The master shower leaks which caused some staining, but this would be fixed easily and did not deter from our visit. We loved all the windows and had some deer come and visit as well. We would happily stay here again.

Lots of space and fresh towels!

We really enjoyed our stay! The property is spacious and peaceful and the property owner was easy to reach with questions. The best part was the fresh and fluffy towels!

The pictures didn’t show the stained shower, stained toilets, or animal feces left by the tv. Also, the fridge didn’t work so we had to buy bottled water to drink as it’s well water that smells rusty since it never gets used. After letting the manager know about the condition of the house, I was told I still have to pay a cleaning fee even though we arrived to a non clean house. Don’t believe the cleanliness of the pictures.

The bedrooms were fine. Living room was very large which was nice but the couch was stained and dirty looking. The kitchen and bathrooms were fine. The iron stained sinks, toilet, etc. made it feel a bit dirty. The water softner container was completely empty so we had to add the salt bags left near it. Unknowingly, The dryer did not tumble so we had to hang our washed clothes around the house to dry. The property outside was lovely but did not appear to be attended to in a long time. The garbage can was full and at the road the whole time we were there. The location was perfect for exploring the dunes and Traverse city to the west and lots of special art shops to the east.

Perfect family getaway next to Torch Lake

We were absolutely thrilled when we arrived at this home for our weekend vacation! We couldn’t believe how much space there was for our family of 4 (plus 2 friends and a dog) to spread out! The pictures are great but it was even more perfect than we had imagined! So much room to play yard games and have a fire without feeling like we were surrounded by people. The woods in the back gave a perfect place to walk our dog around and also made it feel like we were on our own private property. We enjoyed dinners at home and even played cards at the large dining table and watched a movie on TV on the expansive couch! A short drive down the road had us grocery shopping in Central Lake, eating in Alden, and renting a pontoon in Rapid City to enjoy a full day on Torch Lake! My only disappointment was that we didn’t rent the property for an entire week! We are looking forward to renting again next year! What a perfect way to close out our summer vacation!

We were unable to complete our stay at this listing. There was a power outage when we arrived. This is not the host’s fault. However there were multiple other issues that caused us to leave. The plumbing of the house was not working, no running water. The showers and sinks of the house were very dirty and had extensive rust. There was also pooling water in the basement. We tried to contact the host for a refund and sent pictures of the issues to the host showing the listing was not as advertised. The host rejected our multiple attempts for a refund. I would not rent from a company who does not value the health and safety of their renters. The condition of the home was unacceptable.
