The Space:
Apartment 5 is a compact open-plan studio with one queen bed, one bathroom, a dining nook, and a full kitchen. It is the second rear apartment door on the right after the side walkway turns left. This is a studio with no separate bedroom.
The mini-split provides cooling and primary heat, with a cadet wall heater available as backup. Slide down the lower cover on the remote to reveal the full mode controls.
The TV is a smart TV; guests should use their own streaming accounts and sign out before departure. Live television and host streaming subscriptions are not guaranteed.
Shared laundry is in the main building's basement and is not inside Apartment 5. Reaching it requires the separate blue side door and stairs. A microwave and toaster are not listed as amenities.
This is one apartment in a multi-unit property, so neighboring activity may occasionally be audible.
Guest Access:
Apartment 5 is the second rear apartment door on the right after following the paved right-side walkway and turning left.
There is no key or lockbox. Wake the black Schlage keypad with the bottom-left home button, then enter the reservation-specific code shown in the secure check-in details.
The blue side door is a separate shared building door used only to reach the basement laundry. It uses the same reservation-specific code.
Parking is public street parking only. There is no reserved driveway, garage, or on-site parking, and availability is not guaranteed. Follow all posted signs.
The Neighborhood:
You're right off NE 28th Avenue - one of Portland's best restaurant rows - with Laurelhurst Park and its tree-lined residential streets just a few blocks south. It's a neighborhood where you can walk to a James Beard-worthy dinner, grab world-class tortas, and still be home in five minutes.
Laurelhurst Market is the anchor - a steakhouse and in-house butcher shop that's been one of Portland's top-rated restaurants since 2009. Go for dinner (the butcher-cut steaks are outstanding) or stop by the counter during the day for house-cured sandwiches and charcuterie. Güero is our favorite torta spot in the city - the carnitas torta and their hamburguesa were recently featured in Portland Monthly as one of the city's best burgers. Montelupo is a proper Italian market and restaurant with housemade pasta, an espresso bar, and a market stocked with imported provisions.
For a casual night, Big's Chicken does Alabama-style fried chicken from the same team behind Laurelhurst Market - the smoked whole bird and mac & cheese are legit. Crema Coffee + Bakery is a short walk for morning coffee and some of the best house-baked pastries in Portland.
A few of our favorites nearby:

🌮 Güero - Portland's best tortas and a killer hamburguesa
🍝 Montelupo - housemade Italian pasta, market, and espresso bar
🌳 Laurelhurst Park - one of Portland's most beautiful parks, a few blocks south
Laurelhurst Park is a quick walk - 27 acres with walking paths, a spring-fed pond, and big old-growth trees. The neighborhood is well connected by bus, bikeable, and central to SE Portland's best districts. Hawthorne, Belmont, and Division are all a short ride away.

This is my second stay at this property, that alone should say a lot. This studio may not be the biggest , but it has everything you need. And the host is courteous and helped address my needs promptly. Highly recommended!!
