The log home was gorgeous and charmingly decorated with bears, American Indians, and moose.

  • 5 of 5

It has a nice wrap around porch and stunning view of the mountains. The first floor had ample size with an open kitchen, living room with fireplace and dining area. The basement had a huge area with large screen TV and a jacuzzi outside. The loft had a great view and. Pool table/ping pong table. All the bedrooms were great and each one was close to a full-size bathroom. The fire pit outside was also inviting. Had a great experience there. Eat dinner as the sun goes down on the porch overlooking the mountains and be happy.

Weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

I want to begin by saying, thank you Michele for opening your home to guests. I watched my parents begin to relax and settle in as you walked us through the house. After you left, the four of us settled in, hot coffee in hand, for a relaxing couple hour discussion regarding the house and their upcoming 60th wedding anniversary get together. They loved the decor, the homey atmosphere, and the comfortable furnishings, not to mention the gorgeous view of the mountains. They felt at home. They are so happy that they chose Comanche Lodge for their anniversary retreat and are excited to share it with the rest of the family. See you in June - devra

Nice Quiet Place with Beautiful View

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a nice little quiet weekend (other than the guy who turned the corner too wide while texting and banged up our car!). We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and inside gas logs. The owner gave us some good tips for eating in town where we enjoyed the bar-b-que and Southern cooking. Clean, lots more room than we needed.

Owner's Response: Thank you Curt for choosing Comanche Lodge for your family retreat. It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife. I still can't believe that happened at the red light when you were driving downtown Blue Ridge. I'm thankful that you all were OK! God Bless you and your family!! Sincerely, Michele Kirk

Property very nice.

  • 3 of 5

We stayed here Saturday night. Place was nice and clean. There wAs no tv in the family room

Which is a must in a house that sleeps that many. Also the hot tub never hot over 89 degrees and we had it heating the whole time we were there. It was too cold to get in.

Otherwise the stay was nice.

Owner's Response: Thank you Amy for choosing Comanche Lodge and taking such great care of our family vacation home. I always drain the Hottub water and refill it after each guests depart vs adding a bunch of chemicals that most cabin rental companies do. I failed on my part of not refilling the water from the basement bathroom sink w hot water since you only stayed one night. In the future I will make sure I place hot water directly into the Hottub because it does take over night for the temp to reach 102 degrees. Im sure you noticed the flat screen TV in the bedroom closet with wall rack. That is going into the living room. Always working toward pleasing my guests. Sincerely, Michele Kirk owner

A beautiful cabin in a beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

There were 8 of us in our party and each of us wished we could stay another week at this awesome place!

As far as the cabin, it was spacious, clean, well-decorated, and everything we could have hoped for. We had everything we needed for a great time. The fire pit was a wonderful place for our group to hang out with plenty of seating. We went in the hot tub almost everyday. With how the cabin is layed out we never felt crowded or on top of each other. It was perfect!

The location was just as great. The cabin is in a private enough place to make you feel secluded while still having access to stores just about 10 minutes away. The view is spectacular with easy access to hiking and fishing. Blue Ridge lake is about a 5 minute drive and is worth the trip, it was beautiful!

Finally, the owner Michele is the nicest and most helpful lady! She was so happy to have us there and made us feel right at home. If ever we're in the area again, we're without a doubt going back to this cabin.

-Abby

Michelle very accomadating with providing our needs. Made special trip to deliver baby gates for stairs. Enjoyed view from deck, made great background for our family photo. Location very quiet and peaceful. Cabin well stocked with everything we needed. Everything we needed for our 2 yr old grandson. Great not having to bring all the baby gear. Lots of room for everyone. Michelle a pleasure to deal with. Thanks, Michelle for making us feel welcome like family!
