A Great place for a vacation!! Ventura permit # 2165
My wife and I have lived in Ventura County for 35 years, and we would not want to live anywhere else. I am from St. Louis Mo. originally, and my wife is from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. We both love the ocean and the relaxed lifestyle that comes with being near the water.
Sue Kory purchased this house in 2012
This house in located on what's called 'The Lanes' in the Pierpont Beach area of Ventura. It is a breathtakingly beautiful section of Ventura with so much to do and see that you will never get bored.
The house is just seconds from the beach on a charming lane with well maintained homes and very friendly neighbors. The location is close to Beach Parks, a Harbor, the town of Ventura, Ventura Pier, and much, much, more. The weather is nearly always moderate with lots of sun.
This was our first trip to Ventura, despite having lived in SoCal for 13 years and it was everything we hoped it would be and more.
The house is in a fantastic location, literally 90 seconds from the beach, down a safe lane. Plenty of parking, and friendly (but also quiet) neighbors.
The property was perfect for our vacation needs. We were a party of six including 2 children (13 and 10) and my parents who were visiting from the UK. It was well stocked in terms of towels and crockery and games (I taught my dad how to play backgammon) and bikes and boogie boards etc. You just need to turn up and be ready to have a good time. Plenty of space so everyone could have a bedroom and nobody got in anyone’s way.
The outside space is great. You can soak in the hot tub; eat your meals outside; or just relax on one of the loungers.
The beach is fantastic – not crowded at all. You can have your dog here off the leash and enjoy an evening glass of wine while watching the sun set. Sue very kindly supplies the first bottle of wine, but any more is down to you!
The greatest compliment we can give is that we would definitely come back to Ventura and stay here again. Thoroughly recommended.
We rented this house for the week of the 4th of July and had the best time. There were 9 of us and we all slept comfortably listening to the sounds of the ocean. There was plenty of space for all of us, and even space to escape if you wanted to be alone. The 2nd floor balcony and the enclosed patio off the guest house were great spots to sit and read and relax when you needed a little time away. Watching fireworks from the balcony was a highlight!
This house is absolutely perfect! It is much more spacious than the photos showed. Our family enjoyed walking to the beach, dinners in the big backyard, breakfast on the front patio, and the use of the boogie boards, surfboards, and bikes. And who can forget the hot tub. It was a little cool for much of the week so that hot tub was nice and relaxing in the evening.
Sue and Mike made us feel welcome and were fantastic to work with. Sue answered all our questions, it was our first time renting a vacation home, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. There was a wonderful bottle of local wine and chocolates waiting when we arrived.
The house sits on a quite lane in the Pierpont area of Ventura. It is close to downtown, the Harbor Village, and the Marina. We kayaked in the Ventura Keys and loved looking at all the pretty houses in the marina. We biked and walked down to the Ventura Pier and Surfer's Point. The house has a definite small beach town vibe.
Thank you Sue and Mike, we had an amazing time!
Our kids, 18 and 16, said this was the best vacation we have ever taken.
My family has been renting in Pierpont Beach for the past several summers. We all agree(8 of us) that Sue and Mike's home and hospitality win hands down! Everything from the welcoming bottle of wine and personal note to the very comfy beds and crisp linens to the jacuzzi nights on the very large and comfortable patio to the decorator paint and touches in each room were 1st Class.
We also enjoyed having the Granny Flat for extra sleeping. I wanted to sneak a night's sleep there too!
As we were sitting on the front patio our last morning and moaning about having to leave, my 41/2 year old grandson looked at me and said,"Grammie, I think you should move out of your house so that we can all live in this one!"
We enjoyed paddle boarding, surfing, taking the Amtrak to Santa Barbara and just sitting on the patio with good barbecue and many rounds of Uno. We also want to recommend Beach House Tacos on the Ventura Pier.
We can't wait to go back.
Thank you Sue and Mike

We love this place!!! Sue is very hospitable with a welcome gift and our name written on a sign at the front door when we entered! We have stayed here THREE summers in a row, and we love this house. It is a close walk to the beach, and we love bike friendly Ventura! Our car basically stays parked all week as we enjoy the surrounding area. The fire pit, hot tub and backyard are beautiful, and Sue has stocked the garage with all the beach amenities you might need. Fabulous house--we will be back again!
The results are in...our family is rating this the very best vacation ever! Why? This vacation rental provided 5-star accommodations! Sue's hospitality and her beautiful beach décor created a beautiful, pleasant, comfortable stay. I had the pleasure of meeting Sue when we arrived and was warmed by her welcoming touches and encouragement to make the most of our stay. The beach house is cozy but has plenty of space with four bedrooms indoors, and a perfect guest house outside. The photos don't do it justice. The outside patio is large with a BBQ, Jacuzzi and fire pit. the upstairs deck is lovely with lounge chairs and a restorative ocean breeze. You can hear the waves crashing from the deck. We had several memorable family dinners outdoors and even roasted marshmallows. We had family ages 5 to 88 stay and there was something for EVERYONE. The nearby beach and marina park and all of the wonderful toys in the garage (boogie boards, bikes, sand toys) were great for the kids and teens. The grown ups enjoyed the jacuzzi, board games, movies, upstairs deck and wonderful ocean breeze. We fell in love with Ventura. We've rented in Lake Tahoe, Big Bear, and even ocean front in the past...but we've all decided that we've enjoyed this property best. Thank you Sue and Mike for welcoming our family and creating such a wonderful space for others to enjoy!
We rented this house for ourselves and our extended family to stay in for our son's wedding. There were 9 of us ranging in age from 14 to 84 and we were all very comfortable. We loved walking to the beach, eating meals on the patios, and relaxing in the Jacuzzi. It really was perfect!!
As noted in the Ventura County Star newspaper recently, the area of Ventura County known as 93001, with its temperate Mediterranean climate, gorgeous views, miles of beaches and wide variety of desirable homes in every price range, truly has something to offer for everyone. Contained within this ZIP code are some of Ventura's most well-known and beloved landmarks, such as the Ventura Pier, City Hall, San Buenaventura Mission, Pierpont Beach (where our house is located) and Two Trees. The Ventura Harbor, home of restaurants and shops and Marina Park also are found within its limits. The area is unique in its diversity - from the bungalows and luxurious oceanside homes of Pierpont Beach (where our home is located), to the burgeoning downtown area with its restaurants, shops, theatres and galleries, to the high end hillside residences with their stunning ocean and Channel Island views. Ventura's downtown is not only steeped in history (the San Buenaventura Mission, Old City Hall and Ventura County Historical Museum are among its highlights) but a fast growing Mecca for the arts and many art galleries, fine restaurants and fascinating shops for browsing. The Majestic Ventura Theater hosts concerts for rock and blues aficionados, the Rubicon Theater presents a wonderful variety of plays and musicals and many restaurants such as Zoey's and the Watermark regularly provide excellent live music for dancing and listening. Running along the ocean front from the Promenade and Surfer's Point in Ventura (minutes from our house) all the way to downtown Ojai, the Ojai Bike Trail is another great feature of the 93001. Cyclists and joggers can catch a glimpse of the group of dolphins or watch surfers and sail boarders riding the waves. Whether you desire shopping, fine dining, great entertainment, surfing, cycling, or just relaxing on the beach this area has it all!!
