Overview

About the property

Picturesque setting on beautiful, crystal clear Bass Lake. Located just 7 minutes east of downtown Eagle River, WI. 1.68 wooded acres with 100 feet of gorgeous, hard sand frontage. Tranquility awaits you at this cottage situated on the shores of one of the area's most sought after, spring fed lakes that features breathtaking views and great fishing. Enjoy all weather sports here, boating, water skiing, tubing, swimming, sailing, fishing, skiing, cross country skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, ice skating, etc. This lake is most desireable because it is a private, full recreation lake (no large crowds). Eagles nest in the large pines and oak trees along the lakefront. You will be amazed at the incredible sunsets and kaleidoscopic light show from the northern lights. The cottage has a queen bed in the master, a pullout couch and futon in the living area and 2 twin beds in the lower level. It sleeps 8 but can house more if needed. The kitchen is equipped for any gourmet.

Sit out on the balcony to enjoy your morning coffee or evening refresher and listen to the peace and quiet. The home offers 2 kayaks with paddles and life jackets, a large pier for your water toys and entertaining enjoyment and a swim platform. This area of the lake has a sandy bottom with a very gradual drop off - perfect for little ones. The cottage is rustically enhanced in the Northwoods theme by the full log furniture.

About Chris Craig

Hello, we bought our first home in Eagle River in 2000. We loved everything about it. Our friends all asked if they could rent our place and the rest is history. We fix up our cabins and decorate them to enhance our renter's stay.

Chris Craig purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Chris Craig chose Eagle River

We chose this property because we have been coming up to this area all our lives. We have family in the area and we love Bass Lake. It is just so peaceful here. Our cabin is a place where we can leave all our troubles and busy everyday lives to just escape. Always a happy place for us.

What makes this cabin unique

The sandy beach area is the real draw here, especially when we have the little ones up with us. They romp around for endless hours, it is difficult to get them to come in for lunch. They're so cute!

Scenic, beautiful, great location

  • 5 of 5

My wife, daughter and I stayed for a week and had an absolute blast! The cabin is great and makes you feel right at home. Kitchen s fully stocked, tons of board games and a foosball table. Fishing was great my daughter loved catching the bluegill, sunfish, bass and perch, we caught about 40 fish in a 3 hour span throughout the week. Bass lake is crystal clear, sandy and was great to take a dip in! Grill came in handy along with the picnic table outside the "garatage". We didn't get to try out 2 kayaks or to paddle boat (had too many other things we wanted to do) but would've loved to take them out. We loved the location, just outside downtown Eagle River where we spent some time mini golfing, shopping, going out to eat and grabbing some ice cream. We went to Bond Falls in Michigan to check out the waterfalls, and to Minocqua to check out the zoo and Min-Aqua Bats ski show which was a great time! There is so much wildlife to see as well, saw several bald eagles soaring around the lake along with a couple loons, and had some deer walk right thru the yard. It was so hard to leave because we had so much fun and felt so at home with the cabin. Thanks a bunch, we will be booking again in the future!!

Great place, great set-up, even good for a large number of people

  • 4 of 5

Design, placement, location and amenities were all great. Beds downstairs were not clean but there was a washing machine/dryer so we were able to clean them ourselves. Be aware that if the neighbors have crying children, you are close enough to here them and the basement is not for the arachnophobia. Upstairs perfect, lake perfect, NEED 4 wheel drive to launch a boat by launch is just a grassy hillside. This place would be excellent for a large family gathering especially with kids! Easy communication and easy get in and out. I was not pleased with paying a large cleaning fee AND being told that we were responsible for bed cleaning when previous people had clearly not done then and the "cleaning" person didn't check. Overall it was a positive stay, tho and would recommend.

Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. We got lots of fishing in. We caught some nice bass and northern, and the kids loved catching all the pan fish. We also saw lots of wildlife; loon, otters, deer, eagle. Just wish we had a little warmer weather to try out the kayaks and take a swim in the lake.
