Also review The Townhouse, VRBO # 1012557, which is 2 bedrooms and one and a half baths.

The Terrace was professionally decorated with a romantic French theme in mind. When you arrive and walk-out onto The Terrace deck and view Thumb Butte Mountain, immediately all of your stress vanishes!

About Larry Schmidt

I moved to the Prescott area in 2007, and after 10 years, I consider myself a true Prescottonian and ambassador of Prescott. I can be reached at (928)499-9213 to discuss any of my VRBO properties. Although I am getting closer to retirement age, I still am employed in sales management, with a fantastic company in Minneapolis, which enables me to work out of the house.

I got into the renting of VRBO properties in 2011, when my first property was only the 50th listing in Prescott, where in today's world there is over 200 listings. Since I travel a lot myself due to my job, I have used VRBO extensively. I look for clean, well managed properties that are close to local activities with a homey feel, as opposed to the clinical feel of a hotel chain. I strive to run and present a VRBO experience that is consistent with what I would be looking for.

Larry Schmidt purchased this bungalow in 2012

Why Larry Schmidt chose Prescott

I purchased this property due to its fantastic location to the downtown historic courthouse square. The property has dedicated concrete paved parking perpendicular to the street, in the front, which is very unique for downtown, and the street appeal is outstanding.

The property sits in the historic residential neighborhood, so although it is close to downtown it is quiet.

Also as a personal investment, with the Great Recession, I like many others was disturbed by my lack of ability to avoid the huge crash in my 401K investments. With this property and marketing under VRBO/HomeAway, I can control my own investment, and I enjoy the interaction with my guests. The measure of success is the tremendous amount of repeat business my properties generate, and the friendships that I have made along the way.

What makes this bungalow unique

The uniqueness of this property is the fact that it is like a private home which is so close to all of the activites of the Historic downtown square yet nestled in a quiet well kept neighborhood.

Charming condo in the heart of Prescott

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time at the Terrace and Prescott overall. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the Courthouse Square and Whiskey Row. The condo was comfortable, equipped with all the necessary appliances. It was very cute, with its French inspired decore, attic appartment feel and little balcony. We'll definitely come back.

The property was very clean, and well-stocked.

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we have stayed at either The Terrace or The Townhouse in Prescott, AZ. Larry is very easy to work with, and wants to make sure that you enjoy your stay. The property is situated within walking distance of downtown Prescott, and the famous Whiskey Row, which we did. Uber is also available in Prescott. A plus is that parking is available right in front of the property. We will certainly continue to stay at this property when we return to Prescott in the fall.

Adorable townhome right up the road from the courthouse!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for two nights for a volleyball tournament and the townhome was perfect for the 3 of us. It was centrally located to whiskey row and the surrounding neighborhood is equally as quaint and charming! The owner called me right after I originally booked to make sure I booked the townhome that would work for my party, since he has several. My daughter enjoyed being able to watch Netflix on the TV at night. I would highly recommend!

Great weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were in town with friends on a business/fun weekend. We were astounded with how high hotel prices have gone up. Two rooms at our usual Inn would have run us over $1,000. Our weekend here cost us less than half. Property was clean and well kept. Bedrooms were a good size with comfortable beds. This unit had one bathroom. The shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for cooking. Living room was comfortable and well decorated, with a large flat screen tv. There is a small deck with BBQ, small bistro table, and built in bench. Plenty of room for the four of us to enjoy afternoon cocktails. Views from this unit are quite good with amazing sunrises. There are quite a few stairs up to this place which would not work for the handicapped. We peeked into the unit below and it was just as lovely. We had such a good time visiting in our place we rerely made it into town.

Owner's Response: Colleen I am glad that your visit with your friends went well, and The Terrace worked well during your short weekend stay. As you noted, The Terrace is well stocked and accommodates a group of 4 nicely. The outside deck is fun to spend an afternoon or evening out on while sipping wine. The Terrace is a historic property located in the historic residential area near the downtown square, so it has the charm and characteristics of the historic homes, including the stairs. We hope to see you again in the near future. Sincerely Larry Schmidt Owner

Ideal place for us

  • 5 of 5

Great location, convenient, easy walk to central square yet quiet. Larry did everything possible and then some to make sure our stay was pleasant and trouble free. He has a very nice write up on the logistics of the property plus info about area restaurants & an informative and entertaining write up on Prescott from past issue of Arizona Highways magazine. It's clear he loves Prescott and wants all those who visit to have an enjoyable experience, which we certainly did.

Owner's Response: Jim I am glad that you and your wife enjoyed your recent stay in The Terrace, and I appreciate your kind words. Since The Terrace is so close to the historic downtown square there is lots to do and places to eat within walking distance. Yes, I do like to promote Prescott, and sometimes I feel like a self appointed ambassador of the town. It has so many trails to hike or bike, and an outstanding quality of life for all ages. Hope to see again in your future travels. Sincerely Larry Schmidt Owner

We enjoyed our stay!!!the full kitchen is always a plus and the size worked well for my son and I. The T.v.s could be updated and having one of the movie channel access would be another plus- we did end up taking an Uber to movie theater which worked out fine! Thanks for an awesome stay! I would recommend to a friend or may come back myself in the future!

The star attraction of Prescott is the Historic Downtown Courthouse Square and the famous Whiskey Row. The Courthouse was the original Territorial Capital for Arizona beginning in the 1860s, and Whiskey Row is the site of western saloons and brothels of years past! The Square is the heartbeat of Prescott, where you find a vast variety of boutique and specialty shops, original saloons, locally owned restaurants (including organic only restaurants), local art galleries, museums bars with live music.

In fact virtually every night of the week, you will find at least one bar with live music. On the weekends, you will have a choice of country, classic rock, hard rock, contemporary and jazz music. Starting in the spring going through the early fall, there is musicians during the week at The Square sponsored by the City of Prescott.

Prescott has often been voted one of the top five cities to retire in, but there is a vast array of activities for all ages. Our location easily facilitates day trips to the Grand Canyon of Sedona with its awesome Red Rock vistas. When most people think of Arizona, they think of the hot desert (remember it is dry heat, but over 100 degrees is too hot regardless) and Phoenix or Tucson. But not Prescott, since it is at 5,300 elevation within the Prescott National Forest. Feel the cool summer nights and escape the heat of the desert!!!

Don't forget to come during the fall and winter, since Prescott is a year round destination with four distinct seasons, but with temperate temperatures in both the winter and summer. Some annual seasonal events to remember are as follows:

In April the annual world famous amateur and pro Whiskey Row Off Road Mountain Bike Race

During the first week of July the Oldest Rodeo in North America and Fourth of July Parade around Downtown

For the month of October, Mount Vernon Street (one street east of the property) with its Victorian Homes are totally decked out for Halloween, and our Halloween Eve the street is shut down for the kids and Trick or Treating

Prescott is renowned as the Christmas City of Arizona. The Historic Square is totally decked out with lights and decorations. The first Friday in December is Acker Night, where the Square is closed to traffic, and all of the shops and restaurants/bars have musicians playing. Also there are two separate Christmas parades.

So what are you waiting for, come visit and explore all that Prescott and The Historic Downtown Courthouse Square has to offer.
