Hey y'all! Family owned since it was built, our townhouse is cozily nestled in the safe, gated community Sea Pines Resort near the southwest corner of Hilton Head Island, just steps away from Harbour Town Marina in Sea Pines. --- Behind, is the Sea Pines Racquet Club, and in front, the beautiful, recently updated and well-maintained bike/walking path. (Altogether, there are 20 miles of these trails!) --- The world famous Harbour Town Golf Links, Heron Point and Ocean Golf Courses are within 1/2 mile. (also recently updated) --- In Harbour Town, you can enjoy fantastic dining at various restaurants, shops, live music, and spectacular sunsets. There's also a nice playground and wonderful views of the bay...especially from the lighthouse! You can also rent boats, jet skis, or charter a fishing boat. There's even a dinner cruise to Savannah! --- The Sea Pines Beach Club is about a 5 minute drive or 15 minute bike ride. The free Sea Pines Trolley runs frequently in-season and also stops right in front across the street to take you to the beach, the Sea Pines Center and the South Beach Marina (another cute lil scenic spot with shops and restaurants, home of the infamous Salty Dog Cafe) --- If pools are your thing, our Heritage Villa Pool is privately tucked away inside the complex of townhouses. --- Horseback riding at Lawton Stables and the wildlife/nature preserve are also minutes from the unit inside Sea Pines! --- At it's greatest points, the island is 10 miles long and 5 miles wide. So, should you choose to venture out of Sea Pines, there are plenty more activities, restaurants, and fun, all of which can be easily accessed by car or taxi...and yes, bicycle! *** The master bedroom has a full bath and double bed. The guest bedroom has twin beds, full bath. There is also a queen sleeper sofa bed in the living room. If you choose to use the pullout, please provide your own sheets as the cleaning team will only leave linens and towels for 4 persons. Blankets and pillow case covers in the bedrooms (2016). New bedding, lampshades (2017). Coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, baking pans, mixer, griddle pan, dutch oven, cake pans, roasting pans, serving dishes, measuring cups and spoons, storage bowls with lids, colander, pitchers. Matching dishware, (dinner size, salad, bowls) place mats, glasses and cutlery for 6 or more. Dining table with 4 chairs plus 2 from the living area. Digital cable and internet. Private patio. . Basic cleaning supplies. Parking area out front.

The unit is a spacious two level townhouse with a 1/2 bath downstairs and sleeper sofa in the large living room (sheets extra). There are no stairs to the front entry. Carpeted stairs are inside leading to the second floor. There is a also a dining area, laundry room and kitchen as well as a large foyer. The rear kitchen door was recently replaced (2016) and should only be used for access to the electric panel or the garbage area. There are sliders in back which lead to the patio (new cordless vertical blinds 2017) Right outside back you can see the world class tennis courts and Harbour Town golf links (extra charge). when you go out the front, you can access the leisure trails which will take you to fabulous amenities in both directions. Harbour Town is to the left and Sea Pines Center is to the right. The stable is across and up the road at Plantation drive. Our pool which is included is located at the rear of the parking lot past the mailboxes and gaezbo. Follow the signs and pass the lagoon. WIFI is available there.

The Sea Pines Beach Club is for resort owners and guests and can be reached by car or bike. In season, there is a trolley. Turn right outside the lot and go to the circle where you will find signs for the amenities access of which is included with your stay (beach, salty dog marina, forest preserve, sea pines center, Harbour Town). The vehicle pass is your entry for designated dates.

The master and twin bedrooms are upstairs. There is a large landing in between. The twin beds are in the front and there is a bathroom with a shower. The master bedroom is in the rear of the unit overlooking the tennis courts, with its own bathroom including a tub and a shower. There are plenty of closets and drawers for storage.

The closet under the stairs is the recreational closet and there are numerous beach supplies (previously described). Please bring your own beach towels.

The laundry room has a new electronic washer (2016) and dryer. there is also an updated iron (2017) and ironing board. Some laundry soap is provided along with dish soap, dishwasher packs, paper towels and light bulbs.

There are new cordless blinds in the living and dining areas (2017). There is a new garbage disposal and a new fridge in the kitchen (2017).

Garbage is picked up on Weds. and recycling is done on Sat. Bike rentals are low in cost at Sea Pines Center. The electronic lock will be activated automatically when you shut the front door so always take your key code when you depart for the day.

We are the original owners of this lovely villa and we spent many wonderful vacations in Sea Pines, watching the Family Circle Cup Tennis tournament and listening to Todd Ballantine share ecological tidbits about the Island. We know first hand how the plantation grew into what it has become today. On a recent visit this winter, I noticed many upgrades in the physical landscape-new plantings, more open spaces, better lighting. New top notch facilities all over Sea Pines have been opened for tourists visiting since the 2014 season. The Resort maintains it's safe, comfortable low-key surroundings in spite of the modern forthcoming additions. Many new amenities have made this perfect place to vacation.

What makes this villa unique

The view from the master bedroom has always conjured images of a truly satisfying vacation-the tennis whites and numerous trees in the backyard. The little patio in back was forever conducive to quality socializing. Back in the day, concerts were performed by Hargray on the tennis court behind the villa, making free entertainment a bonus of this particular dwelling for several years. You really cannot beat the prime location. It is within a short walking distance to Harbour town and Sea Pines Center.

Beautiful, serene surroundings and access to a private resort beach. Safety is enhanced by gated access. Parking lot is close to the entrance. The home is very spacious for multiple guests. The 2 bedrooms are upstairs, each with their own bathroom facilities. The layout is suitable for 4 adults or a family with 2 children. Leisure trails run throughout the resort and provide access to the beach as well as the multiple attractions such as Harbour Town & South Beach.

Great location to Harbour Town!

Overall the villa met our needs. It was much more spacious than the pictures depict. We loved walking to Harbour Town and taking the trolley to the Beach Club. Great amenities and fantastic location in Sea Pines.

Owner's Response: This beautiful and ideally located home is constructed as a townhouse, which served as a much loved family vacation spot for decades. The 1620 feet villa has ample space to comfortably accommodate six persons. The kitchen, laundry and dining areas make daily living a pleasure and a cost-saving option for those who would prefer to spend their money on active outings. The queen sized sofa bed downstairs folds up to allow additional seating for television, games or conversation on a rainy night. There is also a double patio out back overlooking the tennis court and the serenity of the trees in bloom. The trolley is a welcome addition to the resort. We encourage guests to take advantage of the many resources on the resort along the trolley route including -the lovely and private Sea Pines Beach Club , Harbour Town, South Beach Marina Village, Sea Pines Center and the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. Bicycles are also available for rent at nearby Sea Pines Center on a daily or weekly basis. The store will even drop them off and pick them up from the front of the villa. The leisure trails are perfect for sightseeing as they span the whole resort. We are happy to learn that others appreciate this special place and are able to reside comfortably in our beloved nook. We will be renting to folks like yourself for many years to come. Thank you for your inspiration.

sea pines resort was fabulous

we loved sea pines however our condo smelled like bug spray and as organic farmers we did not appreciate this touch. The Ac was not very efficient in the master bathroom. It was very nice being so close to Harbor Town (we could walk), . also my sister rented a house there and we were only 1.5 miles from each other, a short run. didn't realized there was a pool until the last day and wasn't sure if it was included.

Owner's Response: The climate demands that pests be controlled. The regime contracts with a company that sprays monthly to manage the problem. We left some pleasant home scents to accent the odor. Disappointed, Not as Expected

My husband and I booked this townhouse for a beach vacation without the kids. The area of Sea Pines (where the unit is located) is beautiful! The outside of the unit (grounds, etc.) is beautiful! However, we were not impressed with the inside of the unit.

1. We appreciated the size and pricing of the unit, but the furnishings were all very, very outdated.

2. The unit has a very musty odor, which may be because it was built in 1974 - maybe all of the units smell this way, but it was not pleasant at all.

3. We were disappointed that the upstairs of the unit did not have its own A/C unit and was super hot! There were not even any ceiling fans in the

bedrooms. We did find an old fashioned box fan that we positioned on the dresser so that we could sleep at night.

4. Another thing we found odd was that there were "sticky notes" with instructions literally everywhere (i.e., "open gently" on the closet doors to "this door is

new, please don't use it." I bet there were several notes in each room, on the sliding glass doors, everywhere.

5. We had wanted something on the beach, but we traded a "beach view" for the view we saw in the photo for this unit which seemed very secluded, so we

were okay with that. Instead, the view was of the tennis courts and a walkway which was fairly busy, and all of the chairs on the back porch were moldy

and disgusting. I walked around to compare the outside furnishings to the other units, and this was the only unit with old, molded furniture.

6. Before booking we had asked for a photo of the pool and the location. We were told it was "steps away" from the unit. We walked around and never did

find the pool, which wasn't a big deal because we would rather be at the beach anyway, but it obviously was not "steps away" from the unit.

Compared to the numerous other condos where we have stayed, the size was nice, but the comfort, furnishings and other items ( i.e. dishes available) did not compare at all. The owner was very nice, though, and prompt in replying to my e-mails. The unit is also a short 1/2 mile walk from Harbor Town which we liked, and is also located just across the street from a free trolley stop.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your thoughts. As you have noted, the villa is superbly located and the surrounding area is quite special. 1. Large furnishings are retro style and will be updated over the coming years. Everything is functional given the large size (1620 ft.) and reasonable pricing. Since this guest's visit, we have replaced the washer, the blinds, the bathroom fixtures, the tennis exhibition chairs, the throw rugs, and the blankets. 2. We did not notice a musty odor but the beach closet was full of sand so it was cleaned and some items which were replaced by past guests without drying were tossed. (it is a beach house after all) 3. The condo has central air conditioning as with many condos contructed with forced air systems. The digital thermostat must remain at a cool temperature for a period of time to feel comfortable-yes it may be hotter upstairs and cooler downstairs which is why we left the large fan. Homes built with central air do not generally have a "unit" in certain rooms and these condos were not built for zoned control. The cenrral air compresser was replaced in 2015 so it is brand new and modern. 4. The sticky notes which this guest found "odd" were removed. Not all guests have been considerate-we left the sign about cleaning the beach chairs which is generally ignored. The new door off the kitchen can be used. It is for garbage disposal as indicated on the hospitality page. We are not sure why the note was left there-the old door (which was broken) was replaced in the Spring in 2016. 5. The photos and the website clearly show the location of the unit. The prestigious racquet and Heritage golf club are directly behind the patio through the trees. Our modern outdoor furnishings were replaced with plastic in 2014 due to weather-related issues. The table and chairs are cleaned by the management after each visit. Next season we will look into something more durable. The leisure trails are a convenient and desirable way for resort guests to bike, walk and travel to area restaurants, shops, concerts and sporting events at the marina.They are wildly popular during daytime hours especially during the busy season. They are not lit so rarely traveled after the sun goes down. Most guests are pleased with such easy access. 6. The private pool for the regime is "steps away" (under .5 mile closer than the Harbour). Directions are posted on the hospitality page. There are signs along the way. An email or a phone call would have easily resolved any confusion.

Unit needs a modern update. Very outdated

Owner nice however unit needs alot of updates. Sticky notes everywhere. "Do this, do not do this"! Cannot use toaster and microwave at the same time. Dishes and appliances very outdated. No dish washing detergent. No extra toilet paper. Furniture and Applances very outdated. Linens ripped and torn. The unit really never cooled off. When.we arrived it was set on 78 and felt like it got to 73-74 but was set on 68. Upstairs felt like a furnace. Soap looked like it came from 40 years ago. Dusty smell consumed the unit like it hasnt been occupied all summer. Have stayed in nicer hotels for less money Unit should have only costed $50-60 a night at most.

Owner's Response: Our home has been in our family since its inception. We have made many renovations in recent years, but we have not completely gutted the place in order to allow families like yours to visit for shorter periods (less than one week) at a nominal cost That being said, the.kitchen and 2 bathrooms were completely redone (new cabinets, shower, sinks, tiles, paint) within the last decade.. Every year there are decorative changes in addition to any needed repairs. The home was painted in several places in 2014. As stated on the website, new pots/pans were purchased in 2014. Matching glasses, cups and new works of art were added in 2015.. New, decorative throw rugs and a new lounge chair were purchased in 2015 The rear kitchen door was replaced in 2016. The air conditioning system is brand new and guests have the option to lower the thermostat to their desired comfort level, although I understand the days you visited it was quite hot (heat index at the resort was reported to be 104 degrees). Many of our guests have found the sticky notes were helpful reminders with a personal touch. The cleaning team is paid to supply extra toilet paper, paper towels, soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry soap and linens for 4 persons. The owner leaves cleaning products which are supposed to be replaced by guests who use them. Guests are asked to communicate any needs via telephone or email during their visit. Contrary to this guest's summation, we have enjoyed a following of repeat guests throughout the Spring and Summer season. It's a pity we will not be seeing you again. We had the distinct impression you made use of all the items at your disposal, including the freedom to allow your children to wonder throughout he villa with a sticky drink. Fortunately, the stains were removed with rug shampoo when the unit was cleaned after you left. The torn blanket will be replaced immediately as it was noted during an inspection of the unit post-stay. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thanks for your candor. We appreciate your response even if we do not support your views. Furthermore, If you can locate an incredible deal like this elsewhere for a lower rate-a 1620 ft. townhouse in a gated resort with access to world class amenities (tennis, golf, outdoor concerts, seafood restaurants, hiking, beach, pool, fully stocked kitchen for cooking/dining for 6 persons, beach closet w/ many chairs, lg rolling cooler, umbrellas, games, rolling cart), then by all means, grab it!

House of Mold-Dead Insects to greet you

Upon entering the condo, there was a horrendous stench of mold that was almost unbearable. This was very unhealthy considering we had young kids with us. The furniture and decor was set in the 60s, and there were several dead insects to greet you at the door and in the living room. There wasn't an iron or vacuum cleaner in the home and the beds could have had fresher linens. The apartments smelted and looked as it have been vacant for a while.

We came to the home during Labor day weekend and were not able to get another place to stay at short notice. Please be careful when you choose a home from this site.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the reminder! Certainly, both authorized guests as well as homeowners should be selective when using an online portal. Fortunately, we have had many trustworthy, respectful, responsible, fair and caring citizens visit our home over the years. Most families have greatly appreciated the generous amenities provided during their stay, particularly given the flexible circumstances of the negotiation process. All guests are invited to contact the owner by telephone upon their arrival to ask questions and perhaps to quickly remedy any perceived dissatisfaction. In this instance, the traveler called the homeowner that first day only to make a special request for an extra amenity and failed to mention the conditions specified in the above review. Hence, the homeowner was not alerted to these conditions until after the traveler and his large family had enjoyed an entire holiday weekend without a word of discomfort. Regarding the subject of said complaint, the owner explained to the traveler that pest control services were integral to the maintenance of any condo in the hot, humid climate of this southern resort. Onsite management contracts with a specified vendor to spray on a routine basis. Following the spraying, the insects perish and their carcasses are generally disposed of by the housekeeper prior to the arrival of authorized guests. These villas were constructed in 1974, not 1960. Many of the furnishings from that decade have been updated. Specific updates are detailed on the website. Photographs on the website accurately depict the living space and include an inventory of laundry, household and recreational supplies provided. Lastly, the growth of mold is a potential hazard to any home in this type of climate. Contrary to what was written in this review, the home has not been vacant for an extended period of time. We've been fortunate to have entertained a series of new and returning guests, many of whom booked their vacations less formally based on a prior relationship with the owner.

Rent a bicycle at Sea Pines Center. They will even drop them off and pick them up. Bike to nearby Baynard Ruins to see the remains of an old Southern plantation complete with slave quarters. Check out the wildlife center in Harbour Town. Get to the beach for a cocktail overlooking the splendor of the waves. Watch a sunset from the lighthouse in Harbour Town. The community is gated and patroled which makes it ideal for families looking to relax safely. The environment is very natural with abundant trees and spanish moss overhang. The beach is broad and walkable for miles. During low tide, many folks will ride bikes, play ball and enjoy the birds and wildlife who frequent the island. The Sea Pines Forest Preserve contains miles of wooded trails for hiking as well as several lakes for fishing. There is alot of history to be viewed-the Indian Shell Ring tells the tale of previous occupants.

Almost any cuisine can be found right on the island. Outdoor concerts are a personal favorite and are a frequent sight all over the resort. The marina at Harbour Town is host to many yachts of whose perusal is a constant splendor. Nightlife and culture are an integral part of island living. There is a lot of variety for differing tastes, whether its ballroom dancing with the symphony or two stepping to country, there is something for everyone in the family.

In season, there is a weekly farmer's market at Sea Pines Center on Tuesdays for those who enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables as well as the talent of many an artist's portayals of the old south. There is also an indoor fitness center (extra fees apply) which hosts yoga and other classes.

Cleaning Fee $150

Reservations are not fully booked until payment is made. Guests are invited to use and replace items on the inventory during their stay.
The following items are included with your cleaning fee: fresh sheets and pillowcases on master and twin beds; 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloths per person for 4 persons; 2 bars body/ hand soap and also 1 roll of toilet paper for each of the 3 bathrooms; trash liners for the garbage pails and 1 Kleenex tissue box in the master bathroom; a small amount of laundry detergent and some dishwasher pods in the kitchen; kitchen paper towels, 2 regular kitchen towels and 2 pot holders. Please alert owner if any of these items are missing upon arrival.
