Great property! Two nice bedrooms… very clean place… great location to the UTampa campus for our daughter’s move in! (Convenience to SoHo also a bonus!)

Great stay

Communication from initial booking through completion was great. The home was very nice and had everything you would need for a weekend getaway or an extended stay of over a month as we did. We were made to feel welcome from the time we arrived and would rent again if needed in the future.

Review

The house was clean and the bed seemed newer and was fairly comfortable. I think all of the issues we had were in the bathroom - the fan was so loud and sounded like it was on its last legs. The faucet in the bathtub had a fraction of the water coming out of it that it should have. It, no joke, took more than 20 minutes to fill the bathtub. Then, when the drain plug was opened, it took almost as long to drain all the water out. When the shower was turned on, the pressure was ok, but on the light side. Also, the temperature was only warm. Never hot, even when only the hot water was turned on. Another problem we ran into was there were no outlets accessible from the nightstands. There was one outlet in the middle of the wall behind the headboard, but we couldn’t reach it without moving the entire bed. So, our phones sat on the floor near the outlet on the side wall. They didn’t reach the nightstand from there. The entire house had a funky smell - not sure if it was just really musty or a terrible smelling air freshener. Either way, kinda gross. Lastly, when we first arrived, there was a note from the exterminator that said “I think you may have rats, not moles, in the yard.” I realize that’s outside and shouldn’t effect inside, but it grossed me out. One thing my husband (a firefighter) noticed is that the front of the smoke detector- where the smoke from a fire would enter the unit- was completely covered by a “no smoking” sticker.

Dear Tiffany, we truly appreciate guest feedback, but it’s always disappointing when concerns are only shared after checkout—especially when we were never given the chance to assist during the stay. The bathroom fan, water pressure, and drainage issues could have been addressed quickly and easily had we been notified. We’re highly responsive and proactive, but we can’t fix what is not brought to our attention. Given that no such issues were reported by previous guests or our cleaning crew, there was no indication that any problems existed prior to your stay. The mention of the pest control note is another example of misapplied drama. We have no control over what wildlife or pests may pass through a backyard. That said, we take pest control seriously, both inside and out, with regular professional treatments, and any issue is handled immediately. This is a clean, comfortable home that’s accurately represented and fairly priced. It’s not a luxury property, nor is it advertised as one. Guests expecting hotel-style perfection from a modest residential rental may need to recalibrate their expectations. We encourage future guests to communicate during their stay so we can ensure a positive experience—not wait until afterward to list things that could have been quickly resolved.
