We were so excited to find a pet-friendly vacation home in Sea Pines Resort so close to the beach. The descriptions and reviews on this VRBO website were very helpful and delightfully accurate!
The first impression upon walking in the front door is "wow - so spacious, clean and nicely decorated!" The kitchen is obviously updated, spacious, and well-stocked. There is a nice big refrigerator with water and ice in the door and lots of pantry space. The living room area has comfortable couches and seating. We enjoyed doing a jigsaw puzzle on the coffee table. It rained a good bit the week we were there and was pretty hot the other days - so we didn't have a chance to be out on the deck much or use the grill - but definitely a special area to relax! The beds were comfortable and there is a lot of space to store clothes, etc.
And then there's HHI - always a treat for our family! The Sea Pines Beach club house has been beautifully upgraded. You can walk, bike or drive to it from the house. There are lots of nice restaurants - both in Sea Pines and on the rest of HHI. Some of our favorites are Hudson's, Chef David's Roastfish and Cornbread, Salty Dog, and Marley's. A new favorite is "Coast" - a restaurant right at the beach club house - we had a delicious supper - still in our bathing suits from being on the beach all day! Other highlights are the bike trails - great way to see the island and get some exercise. Bikes are definitely a MUST for a HHI vacation (best to reserve before you get there if going during the busy months). We enjoyed biking to the lighthouse in Harbour Town, to the South Beach Marina, and to the Lawton Stables. We also took a day trip to Savannah, GA.
Thanks to the owners for being very friendly and easily accessible by phone. Ya'll have a really special place - thanks for sharing it with our family!
