A Warner's Camp property. We are so excited to share our latest work with you. Our design work has been featured in Homes & Gardens, Travel + Leisure, and Apartment Therapy.
The Tacklebox is a recently restored 1940's fishing cabin, located on a quiet bay on Lake Champlain. Complete with an indoor Japanese-style soaking tub, an exterior sauna, outdoor shower, dock, kayaks, canoe, and a bunkhouse for additional guests. Enjoy direct access to the lake and incredible views from every room.
The perfect place for ice fishing in the winter, swimming, boating, etc. in the summer. The cabin is open year round and is conveniently located only 20 minutes from the towns of Middlebury and Vergennes. Enjoy easy access to numerous restaurants, shops, and ski resorts (Middlebury Snowbowl, Mad River, Sugarbush, etc). Hiking, cross country, and snowshoeing options galore. Burlington, Lake Placid, and Montreal are all easy day trips. A full area guide is available on our site, Warner's Camp.
The main house consists of an open plan living, dining and cooking area, a private full bathroom, plus one bedroom with a queen bed and a luxurious soaking tub that faces the lake.
The bunkhouse, located behind the main house, also boasts incredible lake views. The bunkhouse acts a second bedroom for additional guests, with one queen bed on the main floor, and one double bed in the open loft area. Guests who sleep in the loft area must climb a ladder to access the space. Those using the bunkhouse have direct access to their own powder room, located around the corner from the main house.
The front deck has a large propane grill, a smokeless fire pit and Adirondack chairs, as well as an outdoor dining table with seating for six. To the right of the deck, sits our stunning cedar sauna and outdoor shower, both with lake views. In the warmer months, climb down the steps to our private dock. We provide two kayaks and a canoe, as well as tubes and loungers, that you may use in the lake.
The property is located on the southern portion of Lake Champlain, only 10 minutes from the bridge to NY and the Adirondack Park. Bridport is a quaint small town, home to numerous dairy farms. Enjoy the local farm stands and be sure to grab some Vermont cheddar! You will likely see and smell cows during your stay.

We had an amazing time staying at the Tacklebox! The main cabin and bunkhouse were very cozy to sleep in, and we had an incredible view of Lake Champlain. We’ll definitely have to come back in the summer when the lake has thawed. The sauna and hot tub were also very relaxing, would highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun place to vacation in Vermont!
It was a great place to relax. We enjoyed the lake front property with our dogs and chilled in the sauna and full tub with a view. The kitchen was well stocked so we were able to cook. We spent the nights by the solo fire. Would definitely stay there again.
The Tacklebox could be renamed The Jewelbox! This place is a gem. The kitchen and home are incredibly well stocked. There are robes, extra towels, fabulous built-in antique furniture and a record player to enjoy. The attention to detail is unmatched. We loved our stay and hope to return soon!
Our stay at Tacklebox was lovely. The cabin is spotlessly clean and very cozy with thoughtful amenities you would expect at a luxury resort: a beautiful sauna, Japanese soaking tub, nice bath products, outdoor grill, outdoor shower, a firepit, 2 kayaks, a canoe, etc. Access to Lake Champlain from a private dock was easy and the view across the lake from the cabin's deck was spectacular, especially at sunset. All in all, we had a wonderful and peaceful stay at the Tacklebox.
Everything was impeccable from check-in to check-out. The cabin is truly magazine-worthy, beautifully designed and thoughtfully appointed in every detail. Our stay was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, exactly the retreat we had hoped for.The cabin was fully stocked with all the essentials, including plush towels, cozy robes, and even a selection of spices for cooking, which made our time there both comfortable and convenient. We especially enjoyed using the sauna on our final evening, a perfect way to end our stay.Although we visited during below-freezing temperatures, the cabin kept us warm and exceptionally cozy throughout. We would absolutely love to return in warmer weather to experience the lake and all it has to offer.Overall, this stay was outstanding and will remain one of our most cherished memories. 100/10 star review! Thank you so much,Maria Z.
