Lakefront Escape with Boat Slip 'Rising Sun'

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Enjoy the tranquility of the Adirondack Mountains. Our two bedroom, air conditioned, lakefront cottage is located at the northern end of 32 mile long Lake George. Relax on the deck enjoying your morning coffee or watch the breathtaking sunrise while dangling your feet off the 40ft. dock.

Sleeps four comfortably, but can accommodate six. Queen in the main bedroom, bunk beds in the second bedroom, and trundle bed in the living room. Bring bed linens and towels. Pillows and blankets provided.

Our cottage is fully equipped for your convenience. Public water & sewer and trash pickup provide the essentials while cable TV, DVD, CD, and wireless internet make for indoor fun.

On the large 10x30 deck, relax in Adirondack chairs taking in the pristine beauty of the region. Occasionally, a blue heron makes a graceful flyby. Cook dinner on the gas grill, eat at the table on the deck or the picnic table on the lawn, make s'mores over the outdoor stone fireplace.

Enjoy the lake in our canoe or kayak. Paddles and lifejackets are available for your use. Power boat rentals are only a 5 minute drive away.

There is ample off road parking and room for your boat trailer on the premises.

Water's edge is just 25 feet from the front door where a 40ft dock is available for mooring your boat without additional charge (up to 26'), swimming (ladder at end of dock 4 feet depth), or sunning.

There is always something great to do in the Adirondacks & Lake George area. Bass fishing opens the 3rd week in June followed by the best fourth in the north with parades, fairs, and fireworks. The area is steeped in history. Just seven miles away, visit Fort Ticonderoga or take the ferry to Vermont. For hikers, there are hundreds of miles of marked trails and the trailhead up Cook's Mountain is just a 1/4 mile away with a beautiful view down the lake.

Hope to see you at the lake where life passes at a relaxed, 'lake time', pace.

About Carl and Eileen Bangert

Retired, avid waterskier, hiker, woodworker, auto and motorcycle enthusiast enjoying life to the fullest with my wife and grandchildren.

Carl and Eileen Bangert purchased this cottage in 1995

Why Carl and Eileen Bangert chose Lake George

Our Family fell in love with the Adirondacks years ago and have a great time playing in the lake and hiking the mountain trails. The location is fantastic ... close to town for restaurants, groceries, etc, a quarter of a mile from the trailhead up Cook's Mountain, seven miles to Fort Ticonderoga, and in a quite water ski friendly bay. Lots to do during the day and then relax by the campfire watching the moonrise over the mountains at night.

What makes this cottage unique

The location cannot be beat ... Convenient to the amenities of a town, right on the water, close to popular tourist attractions, and you can make this as active or relaxing a vacation as you like. There is much to see and do or just rest on the porch, watch the sunrise, and listen to the world come live ... or make a campfire and watch it go to sleep.

Fantastic vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

We just came back from our week long vacation at "Rising Sun". Everything lived up to the description of this rental. The cottage was exceptionally clean. cozy and comfortable. My husband, daughter and I spent our week boating, tubing, fishing, sight seeing and relaxing!

Carl and Eileen are the perfect hosts! They are welcoming and warm and full of hints and tips on what to see and what to do. This was my FIRST time ever renting someone's "home" and they made it easy and painless with quick responses to my emails and texts.

I would highly recommend "Rising Sun" as a vacation spot to anyone who loves the Lake George/Adirondack's breathtaking beautiful!

Thanks again Carl & Eileen...we loved all of it <3

Great R&R

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin for a week and it was perfect as we were able to fish, go boating, swim and just enjoy some needed R&R. I was able to accomplish a major feat of mine in catching a Pickerel while floating on a tube where the owners of the cabin were able to help me bring it in. They are fun and just all around good people! Somewhat close to Burlington, Albany and Lake George if you want to do some exploring. Highly recommend staying here

Owner's Response: I have to confess, this was the first time a fish was caught by reeling in someone floating on a tube!! Thank you for your kind comments. We sure enjoyed meeting and visiting with all of you.

Best vacation ever

  • 5 of 5

The site was great. View is amazing, and the backyard was perfect for all of us. Kids fished off the dock and we enjoyed the view and watched them. Plenty to do with local attractions and then the you could have fun with the canoe and kayak that are on site. The neighbors were awesome as well. My son caught a nice size large mouth bass right off the dock. Our boys are 15 and 10 and they liked the cottage more than Disney. The cottage was very clean and plenty of room for the 4 of us. Would recommend this cottage specifically to anyone. Tom and Lisa

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words and so glad to hear what a great time everyone had. Eileen and I think your son hold the record for the largest fish caught from the dock!

Super Great!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is very cozy, comfortable, clean and welcoming. We enjoyed having our boat docked right there, along with a boat ramp just a few miles away, very convenient and easy. The view is amazing, we love the peacefulness and tranquility. The Adirondack chairs provided us a relaxing spot to view the bald eagles, wax wings and other birds. We took advantage of the fire pit for roasting marshmallows. A quiet paddle early morning with the kayak was a nice adventure. Cook Mountain was a moderate hike with an amazing view with the trail head right down the road, no need to get in the car. A cooling swim off the dock was refreshing after the hike. We have been to the area many times, but this time was the best ever thanks to all that this property and Carl and Eileen have to offer. The perfect hosts and perfect place for our family. We made some wonderful memories and plan on returning again. John, Sue and Laurel

Owner's Response: We love the area and are thrilled that you experienced the same "Adirondack Fever" as we do. Of course we are biased, but we think this is the best possible location you can find on the lake! Hope we get to meet again. Carl & Eileen.

Owner's Response: We seek to put ourselves in the shoes of possible visitors and we are so glad to hear you found everything as advertised...clean, peaceful, and quite. This (Ticonderoga) is the "sleepy" end of the Lake, close to amenities yet away from the hustle and bustle of tourism in Lake George Village. The lake is large enough that you will never get to explore it all, but you sure got a lot covered with those relaxing boating excursions. We were envious...and...hope to meet again! Carl & Eileen

Best vacation we ever had (and we are seniors)

  • 5 of 5

Everything that we read was even better in person... First, the Adirondacks... Our first visit, the most tranquil, scenic beauty you will ever enjoy. Nature, history, family fun, water sports, good restaurants, whatever you are looking for, it is here. Secondly, the cabin... pristine, better than described, immaculate, wonderful amenities, and oh that view.

You are feet from the most beautiful, expansive lake view you can imagine... quiet with very little evidence of civilization around you. Best of all, Carl and Eilieen freely shared their knowledge and love for the area with us. Almost like having a family concierge on the premises. We now understand why so many visitors are loyal and regular returnees to this heavenly camp. Cannot recommend it more highly. Thank you Carl and Eileen for your warm hospitality, we will see you next year... Steve and Michelle

Owner's Response: Thank you for your strong endorsement of our cottage. We enjoyed meeting you, too, and look forward to meeting again. We were particularly happy with your commenting that the property is even better than described as we understand the apprehensiveness people may have with visiting property they have never seen and we want to be sure visitors get what they expect and more. Till next year!
