I’m sorry to hear that the property did not meet your expectations, though I would like to clarify several points for accuracy and for future guests. The listing does not advertise an ocean view, and it clearly states that the property is minutes from several beaches. While one beach is about a 14-minute drive, others are much closer—Balneario de Cabo Rojo is approximately 2–3 minutes away, and Playa Buye is about 6–7 minutes away. Communication: Communication became challenging because you declined to use the Vrbo platform, stating your phone did not have storage for the app. For both guest and host protection, Vrbo requires that all communication take place through their platform, which is why I kindly insisted on following that process. Hot Tub Use: There is no fee to use the hot tub. The listing and the house rules simply state that a cleaning fee applies only if the tub requires special cleaning due to lotion, sunscreen, or sand. I even explained this in advance to avoid confusion. The exact rule reads: “Please avoid entering the hot tub with sunblock or any type of lotion on your skin. A $100 cleaning fee will be charged only if the hot tub requires special cleaning. Also, please remove beach sand in the deck bathroom shower before using it.” Cleanliness & Maintenance: The home is professionally cleaned after each departure and again before every new arrival. I wish any concerns you had had been communicated during your stay so they could have been addressed immediately. Regarding the “wrong lot/house number,” I provided the same dropped pin I share with every guest, which has never caused an issue. The garage door is also brand new, so I’m unsure about that comment. Sleeping Arrangements: The listing includes a detailed description of each sleeping space, including actual bed sizes, so guests can accurately determine if the home meets their needs. The maximum occupancy is also clearly stated. It became clear early on that you were frustrated with Vrbo’s required communication procedures and with not receiving the exact address earlier than the platform allows. I explained the policy and even offered you the option to cancel the reservation if the process did not meet your needs, but you chose to continue with the booking. Given that the concerns mentioned in your review were not communicated during your stay and conflict with both the listing details and the experience of my other guests, it appears this review was written in retaliation rather than as an accurate reflection of the property or the service provided. I’m grateful that the many positive reviews across Vrbo and my other platforms reflect the true experience of staying at my home.
