Less than a two-minute walk to the Gulf from the front door. Palm Cay #3 is a Holmes Beach vacation rental on the west side of Gulf Drive — no busy road to cross, just a short path to the sand.

The sleeping configuration is worth understanding before booking. The master bedroom has two queen beds. The second bedroom has one queen bed. Six guests sleep in proper queen beds without anyone on a sofa — an unusual setup that works well for families or groups who all want their own bed. One full bathroom serves both bedrooms.

The open living area has a large flat-screen TV and connects to the kitchen, which is fully equipped with everything needed for meals at home. High-speed WiFi included.

The complex has a heated pool and a coin-operated laundry room on-site. The free Anna Maria Island trolley stops nearby. Shopping and restaurants are a short stroll. Gulf Drive puts Publix and everyday conveniences within easy reach.

Palm Cay #3 requires a two-week minimum stay — longer than most Holmes Beach condos. One parking space is included.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family has been to AMI for about 20 years. We have rented many units in the Palm Cay Condo Complex. We have rented Palm Cay 3 at least 3 times. This most recent visit, there were some hiccups. The glass table in the middle of the living space must have busted with a previous renter. There were still shards of glass lying around the area. The dining chairs were super old and the material was peeling off. I called the management and they replaced the chairs the next day. The ottoman had dirty pillows in it. The bedroom remote controls didn’t have batteries. Overall, it seemed like the cleaning fills and the unit inspectors aren’t paying attention to the details. The small things to me matter and if you are not paying attention to the small things, then it can cause a lot of other things to be mishandled.

A good time was had by all.

Great location to the beach. The condo was comfortable for six. It had lots of beds that were very comfortable. Everyone should be aware of being on the second level requires being able to climb steps. But we got our workout in daily. We had a wonderful time.

Close to the beach

Condo was very clean and close to the beach. Only complaint is parking. Only one parking spot and it was small. We have a full size truck and it was hard to get in and out of our vehicle after parking. It was also hard to park a larger vehicle there due to a yard sign posted next to the parking spot that we had to try and not hit every time we parked. Other than the parking I would definitely recommend.

Great location but not clean

When we arrived there were sugar ants all over the condo. We notified maintenance and they had housekeeping reclean the condo and they retreated for the ants. We didn’t feel comfortable staying there the first night with the ‘other guests’, so we had to pay additional money for a last minute room for our first night. The problem was not resolved until 24 hours after check in when we went back to the condo , vacuumed up the dead ants ourselves, and we bought ant spray and treated them ourselves to make sure they were gone. Our kids were worried about ‘the bugs’ our whole stay. Not a great start to our vacation at all!
