Completely renovated in 2025 — new kitchen, updated bathrooms, fresh coastal palette, and new furnishings throughout. While Away A is a ground-level Holmes Beach vacation rental where the master bedroom opens directly to a private fenced heated pool, the EV charger is built in at no extra fee, and the beach is a 1-2 minute walk from the front door.

The private fenced pool is for the exclusive use of While Away A guests — fully enclosed for privacy and security. The master bedroom's direct pool access means late-night swims and early morning coffee poolside without walking through the living space. The pool deck has shaded seating and the yard is well-maintained.

Two bedrooms sleep six. The master has a queen bed with direct pool access and an en-suite bathroom. The guest bedroom has a twin-over-queen bunk — the right configuration for families with kids or two guests who want their own sleeping level. The living room queen sleeper handles the sixth guest. Two full bathrooms. In-unit washer and dryer.

The kitchen is fully redesigned with new appliances and stocked for meals at home — the ice-making fridge has been a practical upgrade that guests specifically notice on beach days. High-speed WiFi. Keyless entry. Central AC keeps the unit cool through peak summer.

A beach cart and chairs are provided. The free AMI trolley stops nearby. Coffee shops, restaurants, and everyday conveniences are within easy reach.

While Away A requires a one-week minimum stay. Not pet-friendly.

Home away from home

Our family really enjoyed staying in this house. The inside is beautifully decorated and clean. The kids really liked the pool and the walk to the beach is not too bad.

Spring Break 2024

This is an awesome location! However, the interior of the property appears to be in the process of being fixed up. The private pool was dirty, the toilet/shower had issues, and the blinds didn’t work properly. There is empty paint containers in the closets, random boxes, and a variety of other surprising items.

We had a plumbing issue but it was fixed within 24 hrs. The stove and the coffee pot needs replaced. Could use more beach stuff, like a cooler and new chairs. I didn’t have little kids but could use more stuff for younger kids to play with. Overall vacation stay was great.

We had AC people coming in and out of the house throughout the week. They did replace a window unit however, the central air was the major problem. Otherwise, the house and the location were perfect for our needs.

The kitchen, its appliances and cookware need to be replaced. The oven is only partially working, fridge light sometimes works, the cook pots are more than outdated. Umbrella at the pool is broken and the beach stuff is very used.This all sounds negative but are minor things compared to the great place and location While Away is. They installed a new AC which is great, as the old one had issues. Also the place is close to the beach, gym and restaurants. We will come back.

Kitchen was beautiful. Heated pool was very warm and made for extremelyComfortable swimming. I don’t want to go overboard about this fridge - but oh man! It made life easy. The fridge has a productive and fast ice maker, a filtered water dispenser and a built in pitched that refilled automatically! This was so incredibly helpful for filling our cooler with ice, prepping water bottles and getting cool drinks on demand. I underestimated its importance when buying gallon after gallon the last few years. The house was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. AC worked great and the private slide out to the pool in the master gave me peace of mind with two little ones and some great private late night swimming. An easy two walk block to a beautiful beach. We can’t wait to come back! Thanks IVP! There was some minor construction right outside but we will not complain about that for a second- these people are working hard to recover from the storm and did an INCREDIBlE job refinishing the house and surroundings.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family of 4 plus our pup stayed here two weeks. The location is about 10 minute walk from the beach, close to eating and shopping. Pool was clean and nice. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. We cooked in the home everyday. The cottage is spacious enough for a family of 4 and has cute decor with a "home" feel. Due to it being an older property I think some minor upgrades and maintenance would be helpful. I think the Air conditioning has a hard time "keeping up" with the hot florida weather and an exit to get to the pool area would be helpful without going outside through the drive way. I would recommend a DEEP cleaning. On the surface it seems clean enough but as we got into our second week it seemed we noticed someone had cut their hair prior and it was pushed under the refrigerator. We also found some trash under one of the twin beds. Some of the kitchen appliances need cleaning. Property Management company was super friendly and responsive! Overall its a cute place.

Pool inconvenience

First, the positive- we had some initial concerns upon arriving. The beach cart we were told about was broken and unusable. The patio table umbrella was also broken. The two fry pans were rusted. We notified the rental company, and they were very responsive. They did replace all three with new items. The house has a good amount of space with three TVs and plenty of kitchenware. Now some things that potential renters should know. The queen bed cannot really be used by two people as there is a huge dip in the middle but comfortable enough for one person. One of the twin beds was at about a 20% angle and needed to be taken apart down to the bed frame to be fixed. The living room couch is extremely hard and uncomfortable to sit on. Some of the shades in the living room did not work. You are right on the corner of the street so you have to use them for privacy. While we stayed there for 9 days a detour sent all traffic down our road. Starting at 6am there were no less than 10-12 cars and mostly large work trucks lined up in front of the house. The house itself has a very strange layout. Here is what we wish we knew….you have to go out the front door walk along the sidewalk to the driveway to get to the pool!! There was nothing in the description about this. If this weren’t bad enough…. You are walking past 10-12 cars and trucks wondering what you are doing in your towel! The pool itself needs to be painted….it looked dirty until we realized the bottom was brown.

Although the location was further from the beach then I like to be, it was still within walking distance and to shops and restaurants.
