The Cabin at Braeside is mountain living at its finest.

Enjoy our two person log-sided cabin with a full kitchen and bath, comfortable seating and a porch where you can hear the Big Thompson River nearby. This cabin has no actual bedroom. Sleeping area is part of the Livingroom. The cabin was built in 1948 by American composer and pianist Arne Oldberg for his family. Enjoy the use of the wood fireplace and relax with a book in the wide window seat. And although the Cabin at Braeside is equipped with modern amenities like Wi-Fi and a TV, you might find yourself disconnecting and staring deeply into nature. A fully equipped kitchen with electric range and microwave. The home is fully stocked with bed linens, towels, extra blankets, soaps and shampoo. The kitchen has pots, pans and dishes plus silverware. A standard coffee maker, toaster, crock pot too.

The Cabin at Braeside is a perfect retreat for two. Canine companions are allowed with advance notice (a pet fee applies).

What to expect: This is a 1948 cabin; there is NO AC. But does have a full bath and roomy kitchen, No dishwasher.

This home is managed by Rocky Mountains Property Services, a family owned and operated business local to Estes Park.

Rocky Mountain National Park will implement another pilot temporary timed entry permit reservation system from May 22 through October 19, 2026. If you plan on visiting Rocky Mountain National Park during your stay please visit their website for details about reservations.

Had all necessary items to make our stay seamless. Very convenient to be so close to RMNP as we had several early starts to beat the timed entry. Cabin gets stuffy during the peak heat of the day but rotating fan & open windows with a cross breeze alleviate that quickly. Front porch was one highlight for us. You can’t beat hearing a constant rush of water from the river below. The crockpot was the real MVP as we came back from a hike to a savory meal ready to be devoured.

Fantastic well maintained historic cabin. Very well equipped for cooking. Great grocery store very close had everything we needed for several great mountain meals. Cute cabin close to park and town

The cabin was cute and clean. Located about 5 minutes from RMNP, it was the perfect place for our two day adventure. Everything you need is here. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning and evening while listening to the creek below.

We were thrilled to find this cozy, pet friendly, cabin, so close (but also so private) to the hub of our vacation in Estes Park. We had beautiful weather for our stay...which was an unrelated bonus! Our keeshond, Pfieffer lived her first five years in Colorado, and she was smitten with a return to the mountains....paws up from her! She extended our walks in the neighborhood (a smattering of cabins on the hillside above the road to Estes Park), which was quiet and lovely. The porch was a great place to sit and read.

We wanted to be outside the city in a cabin in the woods. Also, it was just the two of us and we were bringing our dog so we were able to find this property at the last minute. Although very small it was just fine for the two of us. It has a little kitchen and we did cook breakfast and coffee, etc.. had everything we needed for basic cooking. We did see wildlife out outside and enjoyed the front porch. The river is nearby although you have to walk over a main road to get to it. We slept comfortably and really enjoyed our stay. We brought a large pick up truck and it made parking very difficult. This is better suited for a compact car. The grocery store is right down the street and we are only 10 minutes from the beavers Meadow entrance to the park.

The location of this cabin is fantastic for visiting Rocky Mountain National Park—less than a 10-minute drive away. It is wonderfully peaceful and private, away from the crowds of Estes Park while still being very convenient, with a lovely supermarket only five minutes away. Communication with the property manager was seamless, with replies usually received within minutes.The cabin has lots of historic character, and we especially enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evenings. We knew it was a small, older cabin when booking, but it did feel a bit more compact in person. This was manageable for us, although for a longer stay some guests may find the space a little restrictive.We appreciated the rustic charm, but felt a few thoughtful updates would make it more comfortable, particularly for the price. There is no air conditioning, which was fine for us, although some windows were difficult to open and close. The cabin is also quite dark inside, so a little additional or brighter lighting would help. The bathroom is functional, although the position of the tap makes the sink slightly awkward to use, and the charming porch chairs were not especially comfortable for longer periods.These points did not stop us from having a lovely stay. The cabin’s privacy, peaceful setting and proximity to the park are its greatest strengths, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

This property was amazing! Great area, a little difficult to find within the other places and small roads to it, would have been difficult at night for sure as address was not super prominent. Area was quiet but had an enjoyable sound of rushing water from the river across the street. Host thought of everything a traveler may need from providing toiletries, to coffee and filters, to books etc. Would highly recommend!
