This home and property is the most impressive in which we have ever stayed!

  • 5 of 5

To say Tamson has paid attention to every detail is an understatement. Everything had 'that touch' from the soft towels, to the even softer sheets, the lighting, the beautiful interior and exterior, the art work, the kitchen! It has everything! Then there is the view, the solitude and Tamson, herself. She is a lovey person, concerned about the guest experience, there if she is needed, but respectful of her guests' privacy. We are so happy we found 'The Artist's Cottage'. We stayed the week of 10.22 17...the whole experience, amazing and if there were more stars to give...we would. Thank you, Tamson

Beautiful location, enchanting house

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a glorious week at this beautiful, charmingly decorated house. We loved hanging out in the brand new dock, reading in all of the thoughtfully created nooks (inside and out), and cooking on the patio. The house is incredibly well stocked, and Tamson is extremely kind and helpful with any needs. We had a wonderful time and will be back!

A wonderful house for a family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We rented this beautiful home for a week's family vacation. We were a party of three adults and three young children (aged 1 - 8). The house itself is lovely: a great deal of thought and care has been put into the design and the furnishings.

The location is perfect. The views of the bay are stunning and there's plenty to explore nearby. It was great to have use of the bikes. We brought the kids' bikes with us and we were very pleased we did as there are plenty of places for the kids to explore and it's an easy ride to the beach by the bridge.

Highlights of our trip included a day trip to Chebeague Island for 9 holes of golf and a family bike ride, a visit to Portland and endless crabbing on nearby Littlejohn Island. We also enjoyed spending time on the beautiful property: stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, croquet and exploring the woods kept us all well-entertained.

The scenery in this part of Maine is stunning and this house is the perfect base from which to explore.

Tamson is a great host. She's responsive, attentive and welcoming - but in no way intrusive.

We look forward to returning.

one of those places too good to be true and you don't want anyone else to discover it

  • 5 of 5

With family in nearby Freeport, Cousin's Island was the perfect distance for us to rent. We happened upon this property on VRBO. My family living nearby knew all about Cousins Island. We never could have guessed in a million years how absolutely perfect this home would be for us all. From the time we crossed the threshold we felt as if we were special guests, not rentors in this very wonderful "cottage". Nothing is left to chance. Any or all things one could possibly need are provided from luxury linens and towels to a very well stocked kitchen with beautiful pottery dishes, any pot or pan you could need, paper towels and toilet paper (some rental homes have none of this on hand or the bare minimum), games, beach towels, many beautiful places to sit in the house and outside, and magnificent artwork all about the house. Views are stunning.Nearby across a short causeway ride are many things to tease, temp, and tantalize one on holiday. Rosemont Market in Yarmouth Village for carry out food, bakery items in the AM, wine, fresh flowers and produce, cheese and very fresh fish all on a daily basis. A traditional supermarket is an easy 15 minutes away as are places to eat..grab ice drink by the water...we found though most of what we wanted to do was just stay in and around this lovely, peaceful, and serene house. The owner is nearby and helpful, but unobtrusive. We have rented a lot over the last 25 plus years and never have we rented a home to match this one. You can't go wrong be you a family a group of women, etc. This is a very special place.

Spectacular home for a family

  • 5 of 5

We rented this wonderful home for our family to spend the Christmas holiday of 2014. We were visiting our son in Portland so he brought his dog to join us. I have a property that I rent out on VRBO, so a great property like this was a jewel to find. We have never been to Maine, and the experience could not have been more magical.

The photos of the home are very representative of what you will find, but the personality and character of this property is an added bonus. There is definitely a lot of love and care in this home, and all 4 of us agreed that even after our son has moved from Maine that we will return again just to stay in this home. The outdoor area was great for the dog and for peaceful walks on the dirt road. The multilevel home was perfect for our young men to stay in the bottom floor with beds, bathroom and full living room. We loved the master BR with the windows looking out into the beautiful woods and ocean.

The owner was wonderful to communicate with prior to our arrival and everything was beautifully prepared for us. We wish we had more time to enjoy this retreat, it was good for the soul! Thank you for everything, we will be back!

Lovely waterfront retreat

  • 5 of 5

We have been vacationing in Maine for about 14 years and this was the most relaxing and easiest of all! The cottage is charming, comfortable and well appointed. The two gas fireplaces are a welcome feature on chilly days. Our family of 6 (4 adults and 2 children) enjoyed kayaking and swimming off the dock which is an easy trek down a garden path. Yarmouth is nearby and has a large grocery store and a gourmet shop (Rosemont) where you can find homemade blueberry pie, cheeses, wine and fresh local produce. We spent an afternoon and evening in Camden and had dinner at Cappy's although Fresh appeared to be more popular. Camden is an artist's mecca. Love it! I can't end without mentioning the excellent biking and walking trails. We literally toured the island on foot. Tamson has gone out of her way to create a memorable experience for her guests.
