Welcome to Alligator Reef, a gated oceanfront property offering two homes that can be rented individually or together—perfect for families or groups traveling to the Keys.
The Conch Home is a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home featuring its own private fenced heated and chilled pool, outdoor kitchen and bar area, ping pong table, and plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. Conch also includes bicycles for guests to explore the surrounding area.
Located just in front of the Conch Home is the Lobster House, a comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home that provides additional space for larger groups or extended family.
Both homes share the beautiful oceanfront grounds which include a sandy lounging area, fire pit, observation dock, kayaks, and paddleboards—perfect for enjoying the water and soaking up the laid-back Keys lifestyle.
Whether you're looking for a private family getaway or a larger group retreat, you can book the Conch House on its own or reserve both homes together for the full Alligator Reef experience.
Family fun for everyone, all set right on the ocean in the heart of the Florida Keys.
VACATION RENTAL LICENSE: 24-0389 Per Islamorada's vacation rental ordinances for weekly rentals 2 people per bedroom are allowed, and 2 additional guests if under the age of 6.

If booking more than a year in advance current prices may not reflect annual cost of living increase.
Many of our guests' re-book the same property on an annual basis. No reservation is confirmed until you speak with us.
Please note: before proceeding with your booking, kindly review the following information. This property is managed by a local Islamorada rental company, Freewheeler Vacations. Payments for your vacation rental will be made thru Freewheeler Vacations. You will also see a charge from VRBO which covers their booking service fee which is already included in the total cost. We prefer payments via personal check or eCheck. However, if you opt to pay by credit card, a 3% convenience fee will be applied to your rental. You will receive the Freewheeler Vacations Vacation Rental Agreement via email, which must be signed before your arrival. All future correspondence will be made through Freewheeler Vacations.

This house was amazing. The view, the pool, the ocean it has it all. Was just as advertised and we had a great time. Only suggestion would more towels.. Other than that perfect..

Not what we expected

First Revelation , this is not a private single home with a beach , dock, etc. People from multiple homes have access to your yard, dock etc and they take it. The”beach area” is not a beach and does not touch the water. The kayak path is only useful if there is a very large high tide as the path is very deep mud after halfway to the water. The pool is clean and nice but the furniture at the pool is dry rotted and brittle and mostly unusable. The dock affords nice views but it too has numerous safety issues and cannot be used to access the water due to broken ladder and severely damaged floating dock attached. The home is basic and dated, not commensurate with the price we paid. Internet is intermittent and TVs are old and cheap. This property has 2 bathrooms in the house, the half bathroom is outside downstairs and was old and dirty. The home is 1920sq ft, not at all as big as advertised. We stayed for 2 weeks and never heard from anyone yet our yard and beach area were constantly being used for maintenance for other properties or by other people. There is an old resort next door that will bleed light and noise into the home at night. Bottom line we paid for a premium house and didn’t get it. For those who have any staircase issues all living space is on the second floor with steep tile stairs or an old metal tight spiral staircase as the only access. Indoor plumbing fixtures are old and dated and are marginal in operation. This place needs to be renovated….

Top Notch Service

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was almost no reason to leave the property with all it had to offer. Beautiful views, and a great location. Management company was A+ with responding to and replacing the refrigerator that wasn't cooling.

Nice Property-great location

We utilized 3 of the homes @ this compound. Each unit had all of the essentials. The location was great and made things easy to get to. Had a slight issue with the wifi initially, however the management company was awesome @ getting in contact and taking care of it in a timely manner.
