About the property

3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home right on the lake

This beautifully renovated lakefront house sits on a private country lane in the heart of the southern Berkshires. It’s quiet, but close to everything. Enjoy lunch on the screened porch overlooking the lake. Build a fire in the wood-burning fireplace or outside in the fire pit. Take the canoe out on the lake. One bedroom and a bathroom are on the main floor, while two bedrooms with lake views and a large bath are on the second floor. The house is fully furnished and the kitchen fully equipped.

About Amy Thompson

We bought our lake house as a retreat for us and our family and friends, many of whom live in nearby Boston and Hartford. It's a great gathering spot and we have already made lasting memories in this special spot.

Amy Thompson purchased this house in 2012

Why Amy Thompson chose Berkshires

We've always loved vacationing in the Berkshires, with its cultural attractions, natural beauty and varied activities.

What makes this house unique

The best parts: the lake just steps from the door, lunch on the screened in porch, beautiful views, the family of ducklings gliding by early in the morning, snowy walks on bright winter mornings.

Serene and relaxing weekend escape

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved our time here! The lake itself is gorgeous and peaceful, and it's lovely to be able to explore with the canoe available. The views from the house and the backyard are fantastic, and the house itself is clean and comfortable. Love being able to BBQ and then eat in the screened-in porch!

Here is a little video I put together of our weekend at the Berkshires: https://vimeo.com/135276632

Beautiful lakefront home in the perfect spot.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five stayed here last July for a wonderful summer week. The home was charming, spacious and perfectly appointed for our stay. The first floor bedroom and bath were ideal for the early risers in our group with the teenagers sleeping upstairs in two large bedrooms. We especially loved the full lakefront view with big windows all along the lake side of the house and the large screened porch just off the kitchen where we were able to enjoy all our meals. The lake is peaceful and calm and the property (flanked on either side by wooded lots) was quiet and serene. We canoed, fished, hiked and built camp fires every day and enjoyed a full day trip to Boston (under two hours into the city!). The surrounding towns offer great restaurants and shopping (we visited Great Barrington, North and South Egremont and Sheffield). If we're in the Berkshires again, we will definitely stay here!

Perfect retreat!

  • 5 of 5

The house is just right for an escape to an idyllic environment -- a lake, hiking trails, quiet, a fire pit! And you are close enough to all the attractions of the Berkshires to have the best of both worlds. The kitchen has everything you could need. Cozy fireplace and comfy beds, including space heaters should you need to get warmer! The owners were incredibly response to all our needs and flexible when we needed to adjust our stay. We will definitely return!

Charming location on a quiet lake

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a full week at the lake house. The lake is very quiet and calm. Our two small children were able to play in the water which was so clean, and very shallow for the first 10 feet. Even in the canoe rides around the lake, you could almost see the bottom of the lake. We put the fire pit to use each evening to make 'smores. The town is a few miles from Great Barrington and a nice supermarket. We were early to bed and early to rise, and did a whole lot of nothing, which was our aim. We had a lovely stay.

Quiet, beautiful, comfortable and clean!

  • 4 of 5

We spent a wonderful (hot) July week enjoying this home on a quiet lake. Getting to Tanglewood, the Rockwell Museum, blueberry picking, hiking and a host of other activities was easy. Canoeing was a real pleasure on this little lake. The owners could not have been more helpful in making our vacation so relaxing and easy. The downstairs bath and bedroom were very convenient for my 85 year old mother.
